EXACTLY.

We know there won't be any entertainer "content" -- just a couple of schematics and at most a theater-style quest. So they're charging us $30 for something that, twice now in the past (Theatrical, and Bunduki/Tumble) has been free of charge.

Again I say, take it out of the expansion, and just give it to us, and tell us, "Don't waste your money on the expansion if all you have is an entertainer. It's not for you."

That would be an honest and fair way to handle the situation. I don't want or need content to be in the new expansions. Frankly at this point, since I only play maybe 5 hours total a week if that because there's (1) nothing to do as an entertainer; and (2) because there's (see Slick's post) no audience whatsoever (such as Theed last night during prime time) to entertain for; and (3) pretty much no other live at-the-keys entertainers to entertain with -- because of these things I already consider my $15/month to be barely worth the cost, and rapidly becoming not worth it. Spending another $30 on this game right now, with not the slightest hope that the expenditure will fix any of those 3 issues (lack of anything to do, lack of audience, lack of fellow band members) is not what I would consider a wise investment.

Now, if they want to add some content to the expansion that gives me something to do, gets audiences in the door, and promotes entertainer-ship as an AT THE KEYBOARD profession, I'd pay them $30 and be glad of it. But since they are doing none of those things, I say, give us the dance for free.

It appears as though you have received informationabout how the new dance and props will be made available to us. If you know, Chess, I'd appreciate if you'd share it with us because I haven't a clue.

Oh come now, let us not be silly. Of course I have not received this information. I am guessing. You know I am guessing.

You also know quite well that it is a damn good guess, and if I offered to bet you $1,000 that I was right about how we're going to be "included" (i.e. one quest per schematic and nothing else), you wouldn't take it... because you know that it's all but certain that I am.

So you guys have already decided you're not going to like it. Would you prefer that I ask the devs to remove our content from the expansion? . . .

I know exactly how it looks to the devs when they see threads like this and others that show absolutely no appreciation for what they have given us. Why should they even want to give us more?

I don't think most people want all entertainer content in this expansion removed, just that they're not inclined to pay that much for so little content they can use.

I agree that A Dance, A Song, and Some Props could be considered appropriate content for the number of Entertainers presently in the game and that there aren't enough Entertainers to warrant something more meaningful. However, it might not be appropriate for the cost of the expansion (if the only content jedi had available was a functionless toy lava lamp on a stick, I don't think players would be so appreciative, hot to buy it, or interested in playing a jedi).

I think they should take the risk anyway and push more non-combat content into the game regardless: If there is fun, rewarding and sustainable content for Entertainers, people will try the profession and stick with it. The low numbers of Entertainers (and the increasing number of crafters clamoring that they can't find live Entertainers for buffs) suggests to my uninformed self that this is an area they need to be focusing on for improvement, not ignoring it. That's why they should want to give us more.

Ultimately, appreciation will be shown via the almighty dollar. If they want that sort of appreciation from the non-combatant players, they'll develop accordingly. We are here to play the game for fun and hopefully see it improved to our liking, not give developers a pat on the back and a pep talk when we're not happy with the state of the game we play. Most people don't get a “hey, good job!” or appreciated at their work if they make their clients unhappy, even the small clients; most people get a “hey, you messed up, you need to fix this or we'll lose business.

I'm reserving judgment on whether I'll show my appreciation until after I find out if this is worth $30 for A Dance, A Song, and Some Props. I'm sure it will be a lovely dance that will add a great deal more playability to my game and motivate other players to interact with me and pick up my chosen professions and join me in entertaining. Right?

I would be most annoyed if people clamoured for the removal of the Song/Dance/ Prop from the expansion just because they do not want to buy it. Sure it would be great if they released the song/dance/prop for free but it is still something new.

If Mustafar is anything like Kashyykk (which I remeber being billed as high end content) then a lot of it will be accessable to a Hybrid character(i.e CL54) Will I buy the expansion, I do not yet know, I do not know enough about it to make that descision.

Mhm..damn good guess..like your guess that Inspiraitons wouldn't come around until after the first of the year. But heh..I have no idea. And I'm not going to make any assumptions. Of course I don't have any good recipes for crow either

I'm just going to wait for more information before deciding to buy it for Warryyr. And take my anti-grouchy pills, of course.

I will be pre-ordering it for my Jedi character, though - I have tried to make him Obi-Wan-esque and play him as a real Jedi as much as possible. He even uses a blue lightsaber and nearly always wears a dark brown robe (hood down). Also, I live on Tatooine and I think the desert skiff will be fun.

I was just disappointed by Rage of the Wookiees because, well, I'm a Wookiee - and since I chose to have Entertainer on my character, there wasn't much for me to do on my home planet. I just want to see more to do on Mustafar for the non-combatants.

Well, you really must consider that not all people who play entertainers read the forums. Many do not even know they(the Forums)exist. If, based on the few people who post here, the "entertainer content is removed because the entertainers requested it" would be just as ridiculous as saying that Battle Fatigue was removed because we the "entertainers" requested or demanded that it be removed.

Have you compared the actual number of entertainers per server to those who post here? Is the majority on the server side or the forum side?

This soundmore like "I'm going to take my ball and go home..."

Most of the entertainers with whom I've spoken in game were unaware of the expansion or our inclusion in it. Those who participate in these forums are the vocal minority. But we do have the responsibility of being the voice for the rest of the dancers. We are the ones the devs hear. But no..I would fight tooth and nail to keep any inclusion for us from being removed. I'm just tired of the first reaction to any dev mention of entertainers being negativity. People here are condemning it before we even know what it's about.

Well this is why they need to work on their communication (which they keep saying they know they have to improve, but they never actually get around to improving). When they give no details we speculate. And given their history, we tend to assume the worst. It's not as if such assumptions are unjustified.

This brings to mind the experiments of a european scientist..

He was able to make a dog salivate when ever herang a bell . Because every time the belll rang the dog was fed.. so eventually.. the only thing that was needed to make the dog salivate was the Ringing of the bell..

He even went so far asto perfrorm similar conditioning on his own son.. Every time he rang the bell, his son would cry, because prevously every time the bellrang, the child was frightened...

I see this at the SAEM thing.. Every time a Devmentoned us..something bad happend (so to speak) Now.. we become angry and negative every time a Devmentones us because we have been conditoned that way.

Edit: The scientis was Ivan Petrovich Pavlov

I think the new expansion will be wonderful!
I read some things about it and they MENTIONED something about us, entertainers... can you imagine???

*beams* they know we are alive.

I am going to recommend to everyone I know that they get this as it will change the shape of everything
and from now on, if someone thinks of grand, beautiful and glorious, they will think of what the
entertainers got from the new expansion and all rush to be one.

I apologize for my previous negativity. It was unfounded. Esharra is right, we have no need to fear this,
we have no cause for concern or alarm. Everything we have ever asked for has been granted to us, and this
will be the same, I feel it in my bones.

I for one, now have full confidence in the dev team to do right by us. Let the combat classes tremble in fear
for the age of the entertainer being supreme has just begun!!!

1st Esharra I'd like to thank you for being the level head here. I tried to but caught up in the wave of pessimism. I realise that I could not do your job here if I was a correspondent.

2nd I really do want more dances and props and such. In fact I would love that they make them tied into some sort of content that goes beyond just go entertain x people or get x experience or both. I realize that any such content built for entertainers is hard.

3rd I became an entertainer to entertain, but I find that job increasingly difficult in this game (not to mention that I have 2 combat masteries). I am so fed up with struggling to find a balance between Combat and entertainer that I decided to just go and get jedi so i can have an entertainer and a combat character on the same server without paying $30 a month. I want to dnce in the streets and have people stop and watch, to laugh, and cheer, and clap. I rememebrer when That used to happen when I first started last year in Feb. Now most people just walk on by, ignoring you. Hell I have to make my Rancor dance just to get someone to say "where's the CH?!" or "Put that thing away!" I want to entertain people. Not be side dressing....

Oh well. I guess I'm just ranting about something the devs have no real control over. Now to get back to making that other character.
