Thread: New stuff for us!
That's all I will say on the matter.

I move we put these changes on the shelf
Shelving our toys will not prevent BF from being removed from the game. Dispite the belief in such being well within the comfort zone of some, the devs are not removing BF because of us or to spite us. We aren't trading BF for cool toys. They decided to remove BF. We requested cool stuff so they decided to give it to us at the same time they remove BF. We will be getting additional Inspirations, as has been their plan for several months. We will get them when the coding is ready to be rolled out. I will notrequest that it be propped to a patch before it is ready.

I have not been given any indication that they will be changing our sp investment at this time.

Esharra,
What does this mean?
"Entertainer's and elite professions' skill branches have been reworked to accommodate these changes."
Will I gain back some sp?

Poor ents.
I see it in every forum outside of the ones that the radicals amongst us inhabit. The playerbase as a whole are actually feeling sorry for us, because so much is going to be taken from us.
You know what?
The playerbase as a whole make buffbots and AFKers and hologrinders.
The playerbase as a whole think that our whole entire reason for being in the game is to dispense buffs at their whim like a vending machine. Shut up and dance.
The playerbase as a whole has no idea what we who actually play entertainers want from the profession or how we enjoy playing the game.
The playerbase as a whole has never read this forum and doesn't have a clue that there are elite inspirations planned (I've asked around).
The playerbase as a whole has NO FREAKING CLUE ABOUT US AND DOESN'T REALLY CARE TO FIND OUT.
So I don't really care what the playerbase as a whole percieves to be the "problem" with entertaining. 'Cause it sure as hell has nothing in common with the problems I percieve, and that I think you also percieve. I'm tired of combateers' play being forced on us.
QEF!!

Doriana is right on. They don't know us, care about us, or care to find out about us. Unless we provided something to help them 'pwn' we don't matter. If we did (and in the past we did) provide something to 'pwn' with then they make vending machines out of us. I'm sorry, Sirii, but I have no hope for Noloos, andI never really havehe can't be reformed to understand us. I prefer to be helpful to the non-combatant game as I feel more attached to those people on a player to player level.
The combat players know me. A lot even care about what I am doing. And even in this so-called "degraded game" post CU, I have gotten MORE than enough affirmation that I am doing something RIGHT, and IMPORTANT. Why? Because they tip me, they tell me I am doing a good job, and they support me. Maybe not everyone who comes into the cantina, but enough people do to where I know that I am doing the right things.
I'm not a vending machine to them. I am IMPORTANT because I treat them as important. And when I have a bad day in the cantina, I try and figure out why, and I grow.
So I am sorry that you have no hope for Noolos, and what he is doing. I do. And players like him not only get what they go to the cantina to get from me, but they NEVER think it is a "waste of time." I make sure of that,I have great fun in being able to do it, and they encourage and support me in my efforts.
So why take away the game I am good at doing, simply because SOME(aqnd I emphasize some) ofwe "uppity ents" hate some of our patrons, and are looking for more excuses not to entertain them, than to entertain them?
So I'm glad you are all getting what you want. But I'm telling you right now, I am feeling horrible. But I guess if it makes you all happy, then who really gives a damn if I am upset?

Well I give a dern if you're upset. I'm just trying to explain my point of view on it. This next patch will be the start of a real dark time when we get gutted of BF with little to offer in return. I'm still waiting to see what the new insperiations offer. I'm hoping that you will get a new audiene of inspire-seekers to amuse when those are put in. I'm really glad you've had so much success entertaining combat folks, but alot of us have not had that experience (self included). All I'd ask of you is to consider our point of view on the matter of etnertaining pure combat folks. Are some of them receptive to my humor and fun to be around, yes...of course. However, I in my experience I've seen the same combatants enter the cantina over and over for that interaction. Most got what they wanted and left. Those are the majortiy of the combat folks and they could give a damn about us or our performance.
Furthur, the game you're good at doing is not going away outright, the mechanics behind it are going to change. The new set of inspirations will replace what we loose in battle fatigue. In turn I see the future of having an even larger variety of audience memeber types to entertain. The new inspirations will do more than just heal BF they will boost other aspects of the game (not soley combat ones, either). So in the long run things may well improve, but we just don't know yet. The Devs would goof completely if they made these new inspirations AFK-able. That would, as would a SP reduction/removal, probably be the last straw for me.
Time will tell.
You need to try to chill out, stop attacking people who actually do know what they are talking about, and have a little faith that the people we pay to make a fun game for us actually know what they are doing."
I love ya Panthu, but this statement is proof positive that your cheese has finally slipped completely off your cracker.
This development team is obviously qualified to develop and enhance a combat driven game. They've proven their ability to create a fascinating crafting concept and marketplace. They've created a pretty fabulous world to play in. But nobody, after witnessing two-plus years of proving how inept they are at even understanding the casual social player, never mind trying to develop a game experience that is rewarding to us, should be able to say with a straight face, "Trust the devs, they know what they are doing."
They're not qualified. Not where entertainers and social players are concerned. Sorry, but the last two years worth of total incompetence proves that beyond all sane argument.
Now, if you wanna say that people like Eshi and Scip and Lilo have a clue...I'll buy that. But the dev team? Stop it, my sides hurt, you're killing me.
Our ONLY hope is that they're listening to the players (and our correspondents).
We NEVER see what they are thinking or talking about, and it has led to suspicion and mistrust, because what changes they do make, they NEVER explain or communicate to us the rationale. If they would just get on here, or give something to poor Eshie to post on here for us, that really explains it all, 99% of the hostility and ill will that has been generated over the last 2 years wouldn't even be there. I may have disagreed with some of the things Holocron did, but at least he would share his thoughts/reasoning and we could see where he was going and what he was trying to accomplish (maybe failing at it, but still).
They need to communicate better. To be blunt, they suck at it, and have sucked at it for a long time. And this has nothing to do with the new stuff, or even with entertainers. They need to communicate better with ALL the profs (just take a look at the tailor, BE, or CH boards, to name a few, and you'll see that it's true generically).
The devs seem to be afraid, "OMG, if they knew what we were going to do there'd be a riot!" But the evidence argues against that, because people who do know what they are thinking, like the current and former correspondents, are much more trusting of them, than the people who don't. They're shooting themselves in the foot with the silent treatment.
