I'm not happy at it, not one bit...

Not all pure entertainer have alts. So for those few that I know they are getting screwed over. With the way SOEis going, I'm going to quit all together.

No offence but this is still in concet so instead of crying here go post there and have all your friends psot there and have randomn strangers post there and psot in a nice ocnstructive manner the more people we have supporting it be non passive the more likly tey are to listen tyo us we need to look at this as a step in the right direction ie t here actually doing something for us now lets see if thru a united positive (yet wary) front we can get it improved

How does an Entertainer give an Inspiration Buff?

Entertainers will give an Inspiration Buff exactly the same way that they current give Mind Buffs. When a player watches or listens to an Entertainer, each successive "Entertainer pulse" will result in adding more time to the buff in progress up to the maximum amount of time just like the current Mind Buff mechanics work.

Now, does this means... we still have to do /setperform or not? little confused on this part....

Is this thread where I say I told you soo...

Anyways so now EVERYONE knows we don't buff mind. And EVERYONE knows that the Inspiraction Buff will be put in "post" CU at some un-named future point.

And from reading some of Panthu's posts I've come to clearly understand what the Devs intentions are for us. And I need to either except that and then try and make suggestions that are easy for them to do and go along with it. Or it's time to quit the entertainer Professions.

And with that understanding I now give feedback on the future Inspiration Buffs...

It's great. It leaves us exactly how they intended to leave us. Maybe we could get it expanded slightly into other areas of the game... 10% Boost to Rangers group effect for gather meat,bones,hides... 10% Boost to some SL abilities that affect a group ect.(notice they all are group centered...)

Downside, Novice Ent same as Master Dancer just takes a little longer, AFK grinding Jedi will be very useful to players in outposts, Bots will drop their SP down some and pick up other useful skills for an alt to have and will still be run 24/7.

Iffy
It leaves us very close to where we are currently. The people that say they NEED Mind buffs and are out grinding away... Will now NEED XP buffs to help speed up their grind. It places us once again as a pre-combat use which was part of the huge resentment among players. And doesn't tend to lend its self well to a social enviroment and gameplay. As a Pre-combat requirement they will want all the same traits they love about their bots. Easy to find. Same place 24/7, get in and out quickly so they can get to "their" gameplay.

BIG HUGE UPSIDE:

Which sort of goes against my Iffy thoughts...
But with the changes in the CU to make grouping wanted/needed and to be the focus of playing... They need someplace where it can be easy to find a group. Some place EVERYONE will go before they head out to play..

Yes that's right THE CANTINA!!!!!

The XP buff means that everyone will come to get buffed. And what better place to hang out for a bit and find a group ?

Crafters will show up now... are you looking for a certain Item hang out until you see a crafter come on through and make the connection with them.

If it does this... This is what I have honestly really been missing from our gameplay. And if it does this... it will be great.

Too bad that you won't have any credits to purchase from that crafter. Too bad you won't be affective in the combat half of your template because you gave up 1000 health. Too bad the cantina will be full of combat monkeys just standing there a minute to scrape a free buff off you.

This is the sort of thing I had dreamed of. An utterly passive, pre-activity draw.
We can work with it. As a live dancer, I have all the tools I need to not be taken advantage of. I have my eyes. I have my /deny. I have my volition to leave the venue. What is more, I no longer have to be a master at algebra. I can dance and carry on, and be assured my patrons will get the things they need. And even if some--or a lot--do not tip, I'll have so many other, previously unreachable patrons that will be in a position to care about what is going on in the cantina.
I reject the notion that the playerbase has been irredeemably corrupted by buffbots. We are the same players we always were. But we had to deal with a system that turned us against each other and drove a wedge between what the class should be, and what it was in truth: merely an attempt to master algebra, the boring and more certain, the better.
What is more is that I become more effective. I am no longer limited to 20 buffs every two minutes...assuming all goes well. I can now buff 200! Or 2000! Or 20,000!
Buffbots? They have negligible tools to prevent being taken advantage of with passivity. In fact, we would no longer be able to call them buffbots, because they no longer have any buff to give away. We do not either under this system. So all it means is that we'll be judged on much different criteria than if we give out a "/" command or not. We'll be judged on much different criteria than if we "get the math right." Because when the sunum bonum of this class becomes "getting the math right," it no longer is a dance the patrons want. It instead becomes an attempt to own a calculator: a buffbot.
No longer can they /addignore an invitee. No longer can they sequence a buffing cycle with the mathematical precision we have difficulty duplicating. Yes, they now are more effective. Instead of buffing upwards of 14,000 a day, they now can buff an unlimited number of players....the same number I can in a day's active play. I have enough faith in we dancers here--all of us--that we'll come out better, no matter who we are. No longer will unattended spam mean much. In fact, they'll discover quickly it is an annoyance to patrons.
Unattendance ultimately must be resolved. But until they do, I am very much interested in perhaps using unattendees as a draw. Yes, as a means to gain more income. Why? Because when the unattendee draws patrons in with their +125% clothes, we will be there upstage them with our show: the only real thing we dancers really had to earn a tip...ever.
And if I ever get to that magic number myself, rest assured I will know what an attraction I will be. Which makes it ever more imperative that I be treated well, with respect and class. Because ultimately, an unattended alt needs no respect and class, and will quickly discover how very futile it is to expect tips without showing up to work. But us? They have always prefered us. They were simply never in a position to care about it.
Until now.

Just PERFECT. You have put my opinion on the matter very well and in a positive manner. Thank you.

I think its a great idea. Some of our bestsupporters are crafters.

Ideally Id like a pop upI need to click to"accept" the patron watching me. Something siiiiiiiiimple yet necessary, it wouldmake the fact people are ATK a bonus. Let the afk's be there, but let this be the ATK edge....

I earned good regular tips when the mind buff was passive. I will continue to get tips if this change goes in. In fact, I will probably do better with this system because I will not have to force anyone to pay me or interact with me if they don't want to. I won't be so uptight about the buffbot in the corner because she can't force anyone to pay her either. If someone tips me, then it's a gift and not what I'm owed. If the tips aren't good that day, then I'll grab missions from the terminal and work up my funds little by little. If I don't think I'm making enough money, I'll take 'a day job'.

I think the new buff system makes much more sense than the current one. If you go to a show, or have some other form of recreation, then usually you'll be rested and be better at your job or other endeavors. Using /setperform never made much sense for me.

Finally, I think it's good for everyone to express their opinions on this and make sure they hear you. I will be reserving my final opinions on the combat upgrade and my part in it until they start firming things up.

I'm both a Master Dancer and a Master Chef, is the inspiration buff going to also affect my crafting if i dance or do i have to sit down and watch/listen others before i gain any benefits from it as well? It was discussed in the past about entertainers having the ability to mindbuff themselves, perhaps, this time around we can buff ourselves with inspiration.

Afterall, if a Master Doctor can buff themselves, whycan't Master Musicians/Dancers?

I am sure they will tweak it a little more, so lets give them the chance. But personally I like the concept of this. It seems to add importance to dancers and musicians in my opinion, because we are giving them bonuses to XP, FP, and crafting successes, which seems to be more important then just mind buffing. However I do have concerns on the way they give them as well. And if people will even want them depending on how much bonus we do give.
