Thread: Dance Pole
My friends and I achieve very dramatic effects by simply equipping a combat staff while we dance - especially with band flourishes.
I think that accomplishes the same thing that a static pole would, without the 'stripper' conotation.
I love the idea of the dancers pole!!! It's cute and sexy and I bet it will increase our tips, lol
And by the way who doesn't like stripers? I'm a straight girl and I like stripers.

- Only at the classy places... ping-pong anyone muahahahah!

There's nothing 'right' or 'wrong' about anything anyone does. It's either in your mind already, or it was dictated to you that it is right or wrong by society or someone. And there's nothing wrong with women as strippers or whatever. Some people view it as demeaning, others do not. Again it's in your mind. Anyway, stripping is supposed to be sensual, not sexual, that's why the women never fondle themselves or stick their hands in their panties.
That's the most intelligable comment I've ever seen in these forums.
and another question....uh...how is it demeaning(sp)? after all the WOMEN are CHOSING to do it.
Why are we discussing dancing poles?!? i worked my way up to master dancer just to find that there are only 3 different flourishes for exotic 4 !?!? HELLO.. it's the master's dance.. and it sucks.?! not to mention all the other dances have missing flourishes. Sure poles would be a nice addition to dancing, imup forhavin dancing poles. but c'mon, cant we get what should be right fixed first, before adding something else that will be protested to fix later on? Does anyuone feel me on this issue?

The original post for this topic was months ago. And it was asking for suggestions on what sort of props the Dancers longed for. The word "Pole" was mentioned and everyone clung to THAT as opposed to actualy making a list of what they wanted. (gee... not like they HAVE to use any of the things)
Anyway... The fact that we have 3 flourishes (one of which is the giggle thing that is taken from a different dance and is baically the 'catch all' default it seems) has also been an issue for months.
We can want them both.
Hopefully the ext time someone wants to make a list of ideas it'll stick to lists of what would be nice to have- THEN we can start trying to vote things out.

sounds like a valid concern... however if you read my post that started this thread you would know that I am a musician and am only expressing the desires of patrons to my cantina... I know very little about the dance profession
I suppose I am one of those masogynists that is in favor of the dance pole. But as furniture, not an instrument. Then it can only be put in pc cantinas, it will leave a "safe haven" in the mainstream city towns. That way those people who can't stand the thought of standing next to someone who dancers near a pole, whether stripping or not, are protected, and have sanctuary.
It would be nice to have props that cause alternate flourished for the same dance style but I suspect I am hoping for too much.
