No. I do not want a dance pole.

How could you dance around a pole and not have "stripper" come to the minds of people watching? Especially since so many dancers wear fleshwraps and leotards.

Some of us might dance that way. Many of us don't.

well then you do not have to use it

i for one think that props would be awesome, we need more life in this profession...shall i again mentione lack of flourishes..i have to combine exotic 2-4 to get a decent performance

Two months later and I still love the idea of a dance pole, along with lots of other props. The fire stick one is a favorite idea along with the fans (razors or not!).

Sleazy and sexy do not have to be synonomous.

OMG you all that are saying that my idea is sleazy, or that it degrades dancers need to get your mind out of the gutter!if you haven't seen a classical dance show in real life that makes use of poles and other props then you need to get your head out of the radiation box, and go outside...

I have never seen a fixed pole used in any dance venue other than a strip joint. They do not have them in recital halls or dance studios. If you want to watch sleaze (and I don't fault you for that), go somewhere else.

then you obviously haven't been to many dance shows.....

I haven't been to many dance shows (not very cultured, I guess) but I can think of one instance where bars are used in a "non- slutty" dance medium, even if just for practice, and but the bars are horizontal: ballet.

I like the idea. I find it in no way disrespectful to women, dancers or the patrons.

I for one don't care for the pole idea, just alludes to the idea that all we are on this game are a bunch of strippers. Those of you who say "if you don't like it you don't have to use it", well where have I heard this argument before? Can we say afk dancing? The devs of the dancing profession were listing our cantinas in the red light district before, this will add fuel to the fire.

This hits a bit close to me because I hate the idea that so many tell me I make my tips by doing that, or seeing people in my cantina do little "strip shows". Nope...sorry. I don't want anyone even intimating that my little lady does that.

Now, I do think we should get props. Look to the dances that were done for Sultins and Kings ...that is they type of dancers I do think we are to be in this game, all one has to do is look at exotic 3 for proof of that. Alluring, and sensual sure...never sleezy and dirty though.

Great idea Fuschia honey. Tae and I were just talking about his the other day, having fans and/or scarves to use. This is the type of thing we need. So yes to props, but only some of them please.

Thats my question too, but people still do it. I love the one star btw just because I don't share the popular view of everyone here.

I just really don't like the view we as dancers get from the community as a whole. I truly don't. I joined the dancing profession as a way to help my husband yes, but also to dance. I love watching my little lady dance. That is one reason I wiill never drop my Master Dancer status, because I love it too much.

Now, you may not agree with me, but I don't like being lumped into either one of two catagories: The person who afk'ed their way through it and therefore shouldn't even have a name, or the person who uses her dancer status as a way to take part in a big cyber chat room. I know many of you will say thats not how it is, but I have been slapped in the face too many times by other peoples actions in game, referring to me as one of the two.

I want props. I think we need something, along with different and new dances. I just don't want something that is going to further instill in peoples minds that "yes! aha! I knew you all were strippers". No, not being a prude. Yes, if you want to do things I don't have to do them...this I do know. But in the same breath that most of you all say "Afk'ers give us a bad name...stop it", can't you see this has the possibility of doing that too?

That is all I am saying from this and my previous post. Nothing more and nothing less. If you don't agree with me that is all fine and dandy, more power to you. Just please lets think how this will affect the whole of the community and the view that many have of us already.

Pole = BAD IDEA

I'd rather have a baton or those ribbons like they use in the rhythmic gymnastics.

If we can have a grass skirt then I'd like some hula dances as well. I get good shivers everytime I watch the hula dance in Lilo & Stitch. Somehow it touches some very sensitive snares, and I cannot get enough of watching it.

Now I just have to watch it again ...

There's nothing 'right' or 'wrong' about anything anyone does. It's either in your mind already, or it was dictated to you that it is right or wrong by society or someone. And there's nothing wrong with women as strippers or whatever. Some people view it as demeaning, others do not. Again it's in your mind. Anyway, stripping is supposed to be sensual, not sexual, that's why the women never fondle themselves or stick their hands in their panties.
