I've no idea where people are getting the idea that so many of us are in favor of a bug that further obstructs our mechanics or has the potential for giving other players reason to resent us more. Sorry OtizAcki, there are many of us who find nothing sweet about this bug.

I think it is pointless to discuss if this is a good thing or a bad thing... all bugs are inherently bad in the long term... to reiterate what has already been said, Entertainers have not asked for this (please let's not re-enact the DE - Architect fiasco), and we do not want it, but as buff bots are going away some day, maybe you hard core pvp types, etc. should take this chance to start trying to get to know some Live Entertainers since buff bots will not be around forever...

Thats no worry for me about buff bots going away. I myself have a third computer i can duel log two ents on and be in its own, for pvp battles, our live entertainers.
As for the post from above there.. I guess im imagining posts and msgs and flames and such about afk buff bots all over the place because seems to me a lot of people are hating afk buff bots.
To prove it.. among this post alone we have one sharing that exact same view:
"wait a moment, you see lemons, i see some slightly under-sweet lemonaide. if it goes live like that, then live dancers suddenly become INCREDIBLY important and in demand. sure a machine can use /setperformance on someone (the first person into the group), but what a hassel (sp?). these things are supposed to be convienient and for anyone to use, and suddenly their convienience drops to 1/20th it potential? the people who want their buffs now now now would have to find alternate service providers. hmmmm..... i ponder upon this."

3 posts later: "I say keep this bug, but apply it to musicians as well, I loves it
" by Eaca
The sweet lemonade comment I made was in direct response to tangleweb's first line
And wow a 1 star im hurt. Fact is this is going to hurt PVP all around, by the time the last person in the group is done his/her buff the first person's buffs will be wearing out. I've heard rumors of making the mind not targetable or severely reducing damage taken to the mind pool in any way shape or form but without such patches this is going to kill pvp because right now unless your jedi your best bet for victory is that mind pool.. Without those stats your done.

I'm sorry I know entertainer are happy about this but the rest are not. Had a hunt today and no mind buffs. Few died because of it too. I know buff bots are not liked but they do play a role that really isn't being filled by anyone else. I know you don't like to here that, but the cantina's are full of noobs and the masters are lagging out the starports. I created a dancer/musician for me and my guild so we can have buffs. At least on my server I never see any masters, at least ones that are there or not dropping the profession for some combat or crafter profession.
Not to mention this screws the live entertainers that are both Dancers and Musicians.

In case all of you PvPers don't know allready a Tag team of Live Entertainers (1 Musician and 1 Dancer) can fully buff 18(maybe 19 would have to make sure that still worked) in 3:20... that's 3 minutes and 20 seconds. I have no idea where you are all pulling your numbers from but that's not even close to 8 or 10 minutes. Let alone 126+ minutes for an entire PvP group.
It's a bug and it sucks I mean I used to be able to fully buff groups in around 7 minutes As I am a Master Musician and a Master Dancer. But for now I'll just find another master and team with them when I buff.
And yes we do like to look on the positive sides of things here. We sort of have to. The bug that was fixed that caused this bug has been around for over 6 months. I have no reason to think this one will really get fixed any faster when there are work arounds for it.

Like I've said in the past, the mind isn't the be all and end all of hunting. Few people die because they didn't have mind buffs.

Esharra wrote:As for hotfixing..I was only referring to reverting the changes brought about by today's patch. God knows our code is borked & yeah, I'd love it if they could just re-write the whole mess.

Esharra wrote:But on a more topical note..is there anyway they can at least hotfix out this change until it works right?
I'm not sure that a hotfix is more topical. As Tiaga has said many times, Keld has flat out said that our buffing code is a total mess and needs to be completely redone. I don't know that it wouldn't be easier to just scrap the old code and create totally new code now. That's what I was asking Deila about.
AFAIK, Keld never said that would have to wait for a revamp, he just said it needed to be done... and things are being done now.
Edit: Oh, and I'm totally quoting you about the rest, Esh.Well said!

Or better yet - just highlight it all ... and delete it!

My only question is how long before the bots and those trying to use them notice it's bugged and start a flame fest on the forums...

Seriously though, I'd be interested in finding out if that's a possibility they are considering, or are the devs deadset on us being mind buffers regardless.
From what I've read, I think the devs are absolutely certain that our primary combat-prep function will take the form of mindbuffs.
I want to be wrong though

I was actually thinking ahead for once and attempted to raise the alert first on my server forums with this post. So far, no discussion....

This takes 6 months to fix? I can see a substantial amount of PVP'ers gone from the game until either its returned to normal or until the mind pool isnt so important/
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Do you have any idea HOW MANY entertainers have left this game because of the lack of attention we've received? ANY FRIGGIN' IDEA!? The notion that a slight increase in difficulty of finding a mind buff will completely ruin PvP is absolutely ridiculous! I'm not happy about this bug, but get a goddamn clue, bro, please! IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD WHEN YOU CAN'T USE YOUR BUFFBOT. Period. Now grow some balls, approach your nearest friendly live entertainer, and ask kindly for a mind buff. Maybe add them to your friends list! Or are you not man enough to talk to a female in skimpy clothing? Can't figure out how to work a chat channel? Have no clue how to interact with society?
I am SO sick of listening to some people whine about this sh*t. I was a Master Rifleman for 9 months after launch and never ONCE complained about the rarity of a mind buff. Do you know why? I made a point to have 3 or 4 live ones in the guild I ran. Just grow the hell up, people! Use your brains for once, and make a few friends!

Right and a substantial amount of people play a STAR WARS game actively because they want to sit in a building for their duration of their gaming time and shake their grove thing.
Ive not seen any proof that the duel buffing works for everyone so long as theres 2 seperate entertainers doing opposite buffs (with /stopwatch first and /stoplisten second) except for heresay. No offense intended to anyone but I'll believe it when I actually accomplish it tomorrow.
So for right now it has NOTHING to do with the fact that "live mind buffers being hard to find" its a matter of "buffs taking a long time". I am not going to wait through an hour of buffing what used to take 10 minutes for our standard sized pvp group to go out and kill imps. And if this is the case I am willing to bet a lot of other PVP'ers will not be willing to do the same and just how many PVP'ers make up the servers populations? Not just their pvp characters, but their alt chars that assist their guilds/groups day in and day out. Think they're going to put effort into a game that has lost the true fun they seek?
I already mentioned the fact by the way that if the need for dual entertainers doing opposite buff sessions is a requirement (again ill see for myself tomorrow) that it wont be any harder than dual logging on a rarely used machine. Again thats not the point I was making.
I also apologise for my lack of wanting to hang out in cantinas all day waiting to find one entertainer that decides to log on for an hour or two and go hey omg your real. Give me a buff plz. Hey want to join a guild and/or be like my guilds personal call-girl?. This also has nothing to do with my ability to interact with society not to mention the fact that it doesnt take a "man" to walk up to a computer generated image and start up a conversation any more than it takes to attempt to belittle a person over the internet.
Anywho I am done with what can only be a child who has to resort to insults to attempt to inflate his own ego or make himself look right.
Again - Praying for a hotfix soon.

Let's try to remember that discussions for and against buffbots belong in the Pro/Anti Buffbot thread and not in here - this is frustrating enough without bring THAT discussion into this.
Oh, and while I'm at it - the majority of dancers doNOT think this broken fix is a good thing! Please don't pick up on some side comments about how this affects buffbots and think that we are all giddy and happy to have once again been gimped just because it gimps the buffbots, too. This is CRAPPY. We DON"T like it! We want this "fix" FIXED!
All right?! Got it straight now?!
So quit coming into our forum and acting like this was part of some master plan we dancers all put together and forced the devs to place live. Go gripe to the devs in the Testing thread and stop harrassing the dancers.
