Thread: Entertainer NPC's... Your Thoughts?
Which they may do. or may have already. I know that most of the master doctors i get buffs from are jedi who do it to make money or buff themselves in the case of it being an alt.

You cannot play both at once, so they will have to either already have another account or purchase one.
Actually I was thinking more along the lines of the entertainer having complete control. They either purchase the module(or playback vid chip) or the combatant gives them one. Then the entertainer is the programmer, having complete artistic control of the vid and how much healing it can do based on what limitations are set.

And I like the idea that only healing can be done with the droids.
As it is now, you buy a buff and get healed up then head out to do missions. Often, before the buffs wear out you have to get healed again by an entertainer. Having the Entertainer that buffed you making a few vids so the combatant doesnt have to come back in before getting rebuffed would be a huge plus. Not to mention it would encourage repeat customers for the entertainer
One thing on Tiaga's idea and the bits I chipped in is the Entertainer actually plays no active role in the system. It's upto the client to get the recording device, upto the client to find an entertainer, upto the client to start stop and generally oversee it records properly. The entertainer just performs for the client over and above any healing they need. Though some message, maybe even an emote, seeing the client actually holding the recorder, would probably be best so the entertainer knows they're being recorded. I'm sure some of us will be camera shy. Again thinking about it maybe a popup for the entertainer to give consent might be a good idea?

With the amount of BF that can oftenoccur in two missions (with a large beast, like gurks for instance) combatants cannot play without healing. People can argue the "thats too bad, its not a right" stance all they want. But what if entertainers gained NO xp unless someone was watching them.
Its a fair comparison.
2 missions? Ok if you are getting cripling amounts of battle fatigue from 2 missions something is seriously wrong. The most battle fatigue ive ever had is about 600, it took me 3 hours doing baz-nitch lairs, or one doctor buff cycle to get that much fatigue. Let me tell youI can do alot more that 2 baznitch lairs in3 hours
It all depends on which creatures you hunt (baz nitches are famous for being easy) and whether or not you are wearing armor.
Since they are nerfing armor, BF will more than likely sky rocket unless they do something to change it.

What about the aspiring performers who need that bf healed? I know everyone is saying this would be used only if live entertainers aren't there...but come on? Lets not fool ourselves. Its hard for me to believe someone would rather not use the droid then travel all the way to look for a cantina to heal? Even on peak times, that is what is a big sticking point here for many...convenience.

How about enraged rancors, cause i could do 5 rancor per lair missions alone for 3 hours and battle fatigue was not a problem either. Or hunting nightsisters for a buff cycle. If gurks realy cause 600 battle fatigue in 2 missions its not suposed to be that way because they are not that tough a creature. I can let a krayt dragon beat on me for the half hour to 45 minutes it takes me to kill it and i dont get that much bf.
I did not say 600 BF in two missions
We musnt forget we will be dealing with an armor nerf and the new playable characters Jedi. They cannot wear armor so BF and secondary wounds rack up fast.

Perhaps tocounter this xp loss the entertainer (and group) could receive that BF healing XP when the vid was being made?

Yes, id say in the BF in 400-500 area is unbearable. It reduces my damage significantly. After 3 missions I become almost useless. Its not even worth doing missions with 600 BF.
Seems alot to me like your saying you get 600 bf from 2 missions by what it says there.

Well if i can continue to easily do missions with 600 bf then how is the bf from 2 missions crippling? Past a certain point jedi heal their own battle fatigue as well, and as to the armor nerf who knows when or if it will even go in.
Not all Jedi can heal their own BF ![]()
Thats why I suggested the BF healing XP would occur during the vid recording.

How? if the battle fatigue doesnt exist yet, the person would be getting the recording to use later. posibly a day or more later who knows, the group may no longer even exist by the time the purchaser uses it.

I thought this as well...but the more and more ya'll talk about them, the more and more I worry about them being done by masters.
Majority of players thatget their BF healed in cantina's watch and listen the masters anyway. If they are grouped with the players still needing xp (which masters should do until someone asks for a buff) it would be divided like normal.
What I do wish though is to recapture what we (entertainers) had before the afk zombies/bots became too thick to perform.
Unfortunately I dont think that will happen, the game has changed already.
Its gone past that fun new mmorpg to the power gamer mmog. This is what happens in all mmorpgs
I know some fun for the entertainers will be brought back once all the afk'ers are gone.
But it will never be as fun as it was. Too many power gamers, which means too many people that resent having to go into a cantina and have their BF and minds healed by a bunch of fruity entertainers that only hinder them from getting
