Snake please. *dreams about Ava dancing with a crystal snake wrapped around her body*
Edit: nothing like leaving letters off of words.

Great idea. I think it should be dancers that can use the pet and no others.

There is really only one dancer pet that I really want right now.
I want a pet dev.
One that I can tell to "Sit! Fix broken dances!"... or "Stay! Get rid of all that AFKin'!"... or maybe even "Roll over! Get on that Hutt Casino!"
That's all I want. A pet dev.One that has unconditional love for dancers, and one that runs to greet us at the door after a long day. I wouldn't even mind the drooling.

Sure, but what about the shedding?
And you know their breath would be terrible...

Nope, it's all good. Drooling, shedding, all that. I'd even promise to keep them current on their shots.

There's a bunch of stuff you can do with it!
You can set up area patrols like the birds flying around, or small scale patrols right next to each other to make a sort of pet "dance," (though column formation is much easier for that) you can name 3 low level pets (LiveMind), (BuffsIn) and (TheCantina) and have them patrol outside the cantina door togther, etc.
If you're factional and overt and paranoid about attack you acn group a pet and use it for an "alarm" by having it patrol an area -- then if it dies you know someone overt is likely nearby to have killed it. Only works in "safe" zones where there are no potentially aggro NPCs and if the overt in question gives in to their gut reaction to shoot the red dot first and ask questions later.
You can (I THINK, I haven't fully tested this) set a patrol point on a person. I need to try this with my birdies -- instead of setting a point on the floor, set it on group members so they fly around all of us. Not 100% sure it works though.

Pets whose tricks focus on us or on a target of our choice would be nice - like a bird who will swoop around you in patterns while you dance.
Well, when I was master CH and Master Dancer, I had 3 agrilat rasps that I used in my act. While I did Lyrical or Formal, they would flock and follow along with me and change direction beautifully. Having the /wedge and /column commands in a macro also added to the random "flocking" effect.
The problem was that you have to do it while they're young cause as the rasps age, they fly higher and higher. At age 0-3 they fly around head height, but at full grown they're flying in the ceiling of the tallest buildings, and waaay beyond the scope of any cantina.

Been a few days since someone replied to this...
I myself usually pull out my Bearded Jax, and so really like the idea of either dancer-specific pets, or dancer-specific actions for pets. Hmm...I should rephrase that. Entertainer-specific pets/actions.
I won't pretend to know anything about the coding of the game, or how difficult it would be to impliment anything/everything said here, but all the ideas posted here so far meet with my approval. Not much I can contribute to what's already been said. I too use patrol points with my pet. Added to that, I use a macro involving the /tellpet command to have Jadeyes (my jax) do a little "dance" as he patrols either around me or around the cantina. I've gotten quite a few compliments on him, and I think pets really do add to the entertainer experience. Especially the dancing ones :-D
I do want to emphasize my desire for SMALL pets. No larger than a grrcat preferrably. Not only are small pets cuter, but they're less distracting/annoying. And lag will be less of an issue :-) I know I had an experience the other day in which someone pulled out their kimogila in the entrance to the cantina. It was not pleasant.

Hey vert!
If anyone has seen me dancing I usually have a pet with me. The only one right now that doesn't need and help is the astromech. What with his thrid wheel it is already doing quite a bit of movement and really all it can do. They will move while doing the ent stuff too. Oh the current pet command for all uninformed for dancing is either "wedge formation" or "column formation." I've not tried it with facitonal pets yet.
But I would like to see:
- Smaller versions of big pets. Cantina sized Rancor anyone?
- More cute pets. Some don't think all of them are adorable like me....ok not all of them. But I would collect them all.
- Clothes for pets. Nothing fancy, bells, saddles, hats.
- Pet flourishes. all they do is turn in a circle.
- Increased healing to wounds and or BF. and since BEs already get Wounds with clothing I'd rather BF.
- Pets to dance for musicians. Like a command for the pet to listen to someone. (i.e. /target self, and /listenpet)
That's all I can think of.

My woolander's trick 2 looks similar to the base motion of exotic 3 - I get "Ifas" to dance with me and people always wonder how I taught him to dance.
Of course to keep the illusion, you need to use /tellpet so that you are not spamming commands.
