It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, honestly. Because you can't tell when they're going to do something incredibly...stupid.

Give it up. you can't polish a turd. This stinks and is a terrible thing for bands and RP events. There is almost no reason for entertainers anymore let alone any reason for groups of them other than for RP and events, with the elimination of mind wounds, reduction in BF accumulation and even a novice entertainer being able to give the same level buff as a triple master the only thing left to us is RP and events and they make even that almost impossible.

You are right, you cant polish one..
But I am truly tired of people picking them up to throw. If I quit this game, it wont be because the "devs dont listen to me"
or "I hate the EQ2 interface" or anything else. I am an adult, I know the world is not fair, I know that it does not revolve
around me, I am a parent, and I know that no matter how much whining, bitching and complaining my kid does, he WILL clean his
room. On occasion life sucks, and you either buck up and stop your whining so you can do the things you want, or you belly up
to the bar and pay the piper.

If I leave its because I cant stand the people I play with, but then, after the cu, maybe the new crop after all the tantrums and
door slammers leaves, will realize that hey, its a game... and you dont HAVE to pay, no one forces you, unlike my son who has
no choice in the matter, because hey, I AM god, and control the xbox.

You want SOE to listen, be adult, talk with your money. I for one have spent time on TC, did a rifleman to see how bad off I
will be, then did a dancer/tk, a little slower for taking things down, but the dancing didnt change. The reason to be there
didnt change. People came in I... *GASP* talked to them. Full inspiration buff was 1.5 minutes as single master no enhancements,
average time people stayed to chat, about 1/2 hour.

Before you get your shirt all in a knot thinking oh woe is me, how bad this is for us, think on this. Entertainer has NEVER
been a big money profession, what about the docs whose entire and total REASON for being, IE the buffs, is gone. Docs have
never been a social class, any medic can treat wounds, always been able to. Entertainer is still a social class... we still have
a job to do. you want to feel usless? your call, but I would grind doc, put the cash out on resources, sell a few good price
buffs then wait for the cu to tell you that you are essentially retired.no more big money...none, zero...

If the sky is falling, I would rather watch it with an idea of promise, than run around saying it is coming down in a panic. But,
feel free to whine and complain still, I know my son always tries it, never gets him anywhere... but maybe you'll get lucky.

Trellgar and Srii are my heroes. There are so many positive things that can be seen with the CU, if people could only get away from the negativity and look.

The fact is, this game will be different. We need to look and see the new possibilities. The changes are coming, make them work to our advantage.

No offense, but I don't see the CU as a turd. I see it as a way to break the current gridlock in the entertainer profession. I will have fun with the changes and I will find a way to make it work for me and my customers.

You know what would be awesome if they had a band funtcion. Instead of group it would jsut be called band, but there is either no limit or a REALLY high limit like 30-40.

Then combat guys can still have their group and all and we can have ours. Would be better if it didnt have to show all the names on the side and stuff too. Basicly being in the same band makes you in sync with everyone. Personally I think listening to music should be depndant on how close you are to them. I cant imagine 40 musicians playing in a room and for some reason I only hear one guy playing music.

Well, I suppose that is somewhat heartening. It is good to know it's a known issue.

"It is beyond the scope of the CU"

I'm getting really tired of them saying that when ever something they do for the Cu affects us and/or breaks us.

I mean am I completly bonkers to think that if they are doing somthing for the CU and it affects us that is NOT beyond the scope of the CU? and should be thought through and Coverd from ALL Points of view... combat profession or not?

Take for instance this group thing.. they change the group limit to 8 people for combat.. they should be thinking of how this will affect EVERY profession and have that figured into the equasion..

I'm tired of this BS were they change things for combantants.. and screw everyone else..

If they knew they were going to remove Wonds and Mindbuff THEY SHOULD have had replacement for then AT THE SAME TIME.. not "We will get to it later"

They SHOULD already have a workaround for enterteiners so that we can haing our large groups..

But NOOOO thats just too much work for Soe...

I was trolling the forums looking for any scrap of good news I can find, and I came upon this quote from TH:

Groups of 8 will not change for combat groups - - more than 8 just allows for too much power and dilutes thegroup roles. The limited group size allows for more tactics and tighter profession roles in the group, though you can open up a chat window for multiple groups to communicate. We've spoken to the team with regards to entertainer groups and how important it is for larger groups, and since it doesn't impact combat, it is a possibility. It is beyond the scope of the CU, but the team is aware of this very important issue for entertainers and grouping.

If it's broken by the CU, it should get fixed in the CU.

I fail to see why my gaming experience has to suffer for awhile, because the changes they made to combat broke something I do.

There are lots of things that were broken by the combat changes that are in the scope of the CU.

And would Thunderheart care to come in here and explain how critically important to the CU it was to allow up to 30 people into a POB ship? They sure got that whipped into shape fast, didn't they? That has no bearing on experience gain, even. That is PURELY a social function that they fixed up. 8 people would have been enough to man any POB combat ship in the game. Increasing the max to 30 people shows they were thinking about parties on yachts.

I think it's rather apparent that the things they thought about were included in the CU.

Things they didn't think about, and they think they can get away with, are considered "outside the scope of the CU" although in this particular situation is has a direct effect on the levelling and gaming experience of Entertainers.

At least it's a known issue.

But I refuse to be satisfied with paying for a game, when the mechanics that I use could remain broken for some undetermined amount of time so that combat is better. It is also completely unsatisfactory to have any new Entertainer start to play this game and deal with how much of a beating we took on xp gain. Since the mechanics remain untouched that allow it, it will draw people into the AFK mindset.

And here I had this idea of pushing an agenda of lowering Entertainer healing xp in the CU somehow. Yet, what happens - xp gain is severely hampered, and healing xp is really hard to come by.

Bah.

Ridiculous.

There are 10 instruments in this game that Musicians can play.

The Devs instituted an 8 person group maximum.

Simple math tells you that they just screwed over 2 paying customers who are part of a band who features all instruments.

There's just no excuse. This should have been accounted for.

I agree completely. The entertainers have always been the red headed step child of SWG and this is just further proof of it. Still for all the faults I love being an entertainer, a dancer. We wait, and we post and they promise and then, they ignore us.

*sigh* Will this never end? Cutting the size of enertainer groups is just one more in a long line of SOE bone headed policies. I play SWG because it is NOT like every other game, I just hope the Devs don't turn around and make it just like every other game.

There is yet another reason to be concerned about the lowered group size.

With one Entertainer mastery you can only get one combat mastery and maybe one supplimental branch of an elite combat profession.

That gives you 2,000 or 2,200 health MAX.

With the smaller group size, what priority do you think will be given to us with such low health and low survivability?

So, like I pointed out, where do you think an entertainer with ONE combat profession and 2k of health will be in the invite list for an 8-member group?

BTW, that was a rhetorical question since I think we all already know the answer.

Now, remember- sometimes TH doesn't put his thoughts across quite the right way . . . . . . . . . .

Yes, I agree - there should be no narrow thinking when a reworkon a portion of a product will obviously affect how that product is usedby or reacts withcustomers other than the target group. However, that not withstanding, we actually have communication (abeit not inside of this forum) that the devs are aware of the problem and intend on addressing it. We've been asking for more (positive)attention from the devs. Let's try to take this as at least a step in the right direction and constructively help them to continue.
