So, like I pointed out, where do you think an entertainer with ONE combat profession and 2k of health will be in the invite list for an 8-member group?

BTW, that was a rhetorical question since I think we all already know the answer.

Hehe...well, you know, "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything." That's why I haven't said much lately. LOL But, I figured that quote from TH was something nice.

But, yeah, I agree with you. I mean, there is so much wrong with this CU. But, one of my biggest gripes is definitely the health bar issue. I can see it now. People in Coronet starport spamming: "Forming group to go rancor hunting, people with max health ONLY."

I feel very frustrated, and I don't think any of the real, main concerns are ever going to be answered or changed (levels, health bar, lack of support for hybrids, and certifications.) I could care less about the icons, and it's really annoying to me that people are complaining about that. Same with particle effects, etc. The levels thing, and every thing related to levels is just so...I dunno...gamebreaking for me. And, it's a change that's going to be extremely hard to ignore. I try to keep an open mind, I really do. But, I have a hard time ignoring the fact that the level, cert, and HAM is going to greatly restrict the enjoyment of my gameplay.

I am really so flabbergasted by this whole thing that I can't even adequately express my frustration over it. It's one of those things where I just want to grab the offenders by the collar, shake them, and scream, "DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE DOING?!?!"

Anyway, should I stay with this game, I have already figured out my plan. Hybrids are no longer viable, I know this. And, I would never give SOE extra money with another account. (In fact, other than my ongoing subscription to SWG since I am addicted, I have decided to boycott any and every Sony product from here on out.) So, since I've been doing FS stuff, I guess Drygo will become a full blown Jedi, and my unlocked character will be solely entertainer and/or crafter. There's no point in playing any other way.

I would like to point out that in "small group" max health is not and should not be the main objective. If the group leader think it is then his group is doomed from the getco because relaying on health only is not good.

Watching TH's pretty little diagram of how the new and improved classes will work I have to say it is on par with "other" games.

He has all the combat involved classes separated in to Tanks, Range Attack, Nukers, Healers, DPS and so on....

From experience I can tell you the maximum possible health is most important for tanks only, because it is their job to keep the mobs focused on them and them alone, for the rest it's their ability to do maximum damage without drawingany agro. In a group with everyone knowing their role only one person is actually taking damage, the tank. If you are in a group where the mob is ping-ponked in between rest of the group members, then the best thing is to just /leavegroup, because that's one sucky group heading for disaster.

It's true, hybrid entertainer and combat will not make good tanks and they shouldn't. However I see no reason why they shouldn't be effective range support, non-tank dps, nukers or healers....

I guess the point I'm trying to make is, there is gazillion things I totally hate about the CU but one think I do like and that is that finally the combat will require an actual skill of using the class to it's best potential, rather then just uber-armor/uber-buffs god mode.

I agree with you on that point, definitely.

But, I'm a tank. I can no longer be my favorite combat profession because of the stupid health bar system. It logically makes no sense to me why say, a combo TKM/Pistoleer can take more damage than a TKM/Dancer.

Petronela; "I would like to point out that in "small group" max health is not and should not be the main objective. If the group leader think it is then his group is doomed from the getco because relaying on health only is not good."

However Petronela, in the standard 'pickup group' where you don't now those you are adding to your group you try and put together a group that has maximum survivability.

Anyone with 2/3 of the max health is simply going to be viewed as a liability no matter WHAT they are on that nice littel combat-role chart.

And, I might add, the idea of Dancer/TK from an RP perspective just makes sense. And I don't thin we want to widen the gulf between the RP part of this MMORPG and the arcade side do we?

I think the bulk of the problem can be solved by not having max health tied ONLY to elite combat professions but to ALL elite professions. That way a pure multi-elite non-combat can enjoy max health and will NOT affect the combat game in the least, those with a mix of elite combat and non-combat canmore fully participate in hunting groups by at least not being a weak link but only at the expense of versatility in combat.
