Thread: Okay folks, feedback time for you all on this list here.

No no no Pickles, you misunderstand. Going from peoples lists and of course those pro afk vs non afk it was already teatering at number 5 on the list tied with number 4 and 5 I have on the list currently. The player cities was what deciding factor in picking which actually got the spot.
That surprises me, but it's a good answer. It also depresses me because it's an indicator of how ambivalent to the problem we've become, as well as how many true entertainers have actually left.
I remain hopeful, especially considering how enthused you are about the player cantinas. I hope it solves things, because at the rate AFKing is sliding down the priority list, it may never be fixed otherwise.

Sounds good, only thing i'd change is add 2 and five together and move: New flourishes, full 8 for every dance. (good ones only please) up to 5.
I considered combining the two but their really completely separate issues and didn't think it would be right. Felt like cheating to get more in the top 5... did occur to me tho. ![]()
And pickles, I know where your coming from. Trust me when I say if it was up to me and I was just pushing my own agenda I'd have it removed from game tomarrow if I could. ![]()
Good list Raven. The only changes I would make would be:
1.Put in the AFK issue for #3 (dropping missions from the list - yes they are broken and probably easy to fix, but it's easy to get money, so why care about them?).
2. I would swap #4 and #5 in priority
Thanks such much for being such a great correspondant. I think we got the best one!

Yeah, I couldn't care less about missions. Now afk, well I'm frankly surprised it's not on the list at all. Sad that the devs don't care either. ssdd for the entertainers.
The devs do care and have already said they are planning on doing something about it. Now.. what they'll do I have no idea or how far they'll take it.. or for that matter when. But the issue has been beat to death and they're as aware of it as they can possibly be.

(Waves to everyone)
I'm not ambivalent anymore. I don't think I'm capable of ambivalent. I'm actually so disgusted with paying to "play" a game and Master a profession that is most commonly Mastered by players while they're not really playing, that I'm giving up. I will not be renewing my subscription at the end of this month, and SoE will not have my $15 a month just so I can stand next to zombie NPC lookalikes spouting tip macros every 15 seconds.
I'm still shaking my head that I let myself get this far in the game believing that the Devs would not tolerate cheesy methods of unattended skill-powering. Maybe they're not sure what to do about it, but there have been no paucity of suggestions from this board and from the musicians. If they don't care that an entire profession is now dominated by Bots who aren't really taking part in the game, that says a lot to me about what they value in SWG. I don't think it's Dancers. Maybe it's the $$$$ -- and if that's the case, the best thing I can do is stop paying them.
Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread -- I agree that Ravenmist's list is a very good one. I don't think most of the issues given top 5 priority are gamestoppers for the Dancer profession like AFK macroing is, but maybe the chicken that is Player Cities will actually hatch some day so it can be counted for real. Myself, I'm going to find a game where people are actually expected to be at their keyboards in order to gain skill.
1. Fix entertainer missions
2. Mind buffing self
3. Add notification of when buffing is complete and person can stop watching
4. Make experience earned based on dancer's ability (number of boxes?) not dance itself
5. Add some reasonable non-bardlike field abilities
Hmmm...the rest of the things look good. I think they all would be welcome changes and some of them we have been assured are on the drawing board or on the list to be fixed.
As an addendum, I think it would be nice if we could trade dance experience for some kind of trinket, clothes (schematic?), or prop. Unfortunately, it is hard for me to come up with ideas for this that would not interfere with the player market and other professions, such as Tailor, Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, and Artisan. Perhaps if it was a tradeable schematic we could give to that profession to make for us it might work.

Most games Expect that... SWG expects it... if you do though managed to find a game that requires it.. please let us know..
Luckily the player cities should be out next week, although it will be at least a month from then before we can even start to judge if their having a big enough effect on the problem. Really tho, I can't see any good reason you should have to dance around AFK people anymore once player cities are around. I just hope that turns out to be the case.

Luckily Player Cities should be live next week, but unfortuneatly it will be a least four weeks after that before we can start to judge if their having a big enough effect to be helpful or not. I will say that with Player Cities around I can't see any reason you should have to dance near AFK people, that alone should be a big plus. I just hope it turns out to be the case.. although I will say even if that is the case it doesnt mean more measures won't be taken to stop AFK tainers.
