"Missions are also currently being worked on. Which is why I have a whole thread dedicated to ideas on how to change them."

This is good to know. If it's done right, it should be well-balanced enough to solve a number of the issues that people have with the entertainmentprofessions, AND it should help to make the AFK issue less of a problem.

Where is this thread? I've never seen a recentthread devoted to how to change missions. Lead me to it, please.

One thing that I'd like to put in a word for, is this: let's get rid of the player's ability to remove the AFK label. Most of the AFKers I run into have no AFK label. These are the cynical folks who know it's wrong, yet they do it anyway, and hide the fact so that they can still get tips. At least the AFKers who leave the AFK tag on are big enough to admit it.

just a thought...but...

how about with /denyservice you have the person(s) wanting a buff have to target you--the entertainer--and ask for it through radial option....then you could deny or accept (afking would be reduced here)....if you accept you get the xp for it...if you deny the buffee looks elsewhere....if you are afk you miss out totally....dont know much about codes and what not for doing this way...just an idea...

Thats a wonderful idea Whitecastle.

I think that this would be easier to implement then the ability for US to target multiple people. This way the focus is on us and we can buff as many people as we accept to do so by using a variation on the deny service command.

I like this alot. Ravenmist you should submit this idea i believe it has many merits.

That's a great idea Whitecastle. Actually I would like it expanded so that every /watch or /listen command had to receive an 'accept' by the dancer. That would REALLY cut down on AFKers.

AFK problem needs solution?

Why doesn't the server just drop AFKers after 15 minutes? Save the bandwidth for the active players...

It is not hard at all to tell if a user is at the keyboard or not through code....

It is not hard at all to start a 15 minute timer the moment inactivity is detected.....

It shouldn't be that hard to drop someone's connex should the 15 minute timer elapse...

Where's the problem?

You're absolutely right, Rebl. I hope this kills the chef class. Got my fingers crossed.

"Ironically, while researching this piece a representative from Sony asked us to keep in mind that many of the players complaining "weren't playing the class right," and that the class was designed as a solo experience. Such a comment is indicative of the original Ultima Online mistake: not realizing that once an MMO is released to the public, it no longer belongs to the developers, it belongs to the people paying $14.99 a month for the service."

Tat sunburns and omacheck and bivoli, my friend. If the food stacks weren't bugged you'd be making bank off me.

-----------------

sure food stacks but just like doctor buffs its such a tiny amount and a short peroid of time (2-5 mins) its more of a hassel then useful.. No one uses food now , and if your a chef you would know that crafting the master chef foods takes over 32 hours per crate of 25 items.. now its a pain in the ass and increadibly expensive for useless items but instead of making them beter they just keep giving other classes easier and beter abilities......... Whats the point of the chef..................

I don't always have a Twi'lek in my pocket or a doctor to jump out and buff me when I want to do something besides use attack. Two Tat Sunburns and omachek (sp?) and I am one rocking pistoleer. Once the food stack bug is fixed you guys will be making a lot of dough.

hehe Thanks */blush*

just tired of all the afk talk...*sigh*

tried to think of our actual options and this one made the most sense to me....though I do think the number of people who can be buffed at once should not be capped, as it is only 50 percent and apparently doesn't last too long?!?!? Could make the buff a set number of action points so if the ham bar empties ent/dan/mus has to sit and heal themselves....*shrug* Like I said just some ideas...
