We don't want to control how you play your game, we just get tired of the people who get in a group, the immediatly go AFK for several hours at a time, I don't really do this for tips either, I do this to have fun and meet people. The people who go AFK for hoursat a time are the ones that make people think that ALL entertainers are like this and the reason we have gotten such a bad rep no matter which server you are on.I don't have problem with AFK entertainers, just do it AWAY from the cantina's in their own houses.
See, here's the thing. I don't do this in a cantina populated with other entertainers. I don't do this in a group.
I go to Lok. Or Rori. Or Dathomir. And I do it in cantinas there.
Why?
Because there are no "at the keys" performers in those cantinas. None. Zero. But that's where all the fighting is. That's where performers are needed the most. Bottom line: the majority of "at-the-keys"performers won't do their jobs, soAFK entertainersdo it for them.
You say you don't want to deal with AFK entertainers. You say you want better tips.
Yet you hang out in the same overpopulated cantinas on the starter worlds, competing with 20 otherentertainers for the few noob tips that come in. What the f* are you thinking?
Why not go to Dathomir? There are no entertainers there. You can be the ONLY entertainer in a cantina filled with HIGH LEVEL (read: wealthy) adventurersin desperate need ofmind & BF healing.
You want entertainer experience? You want tips? Stop your whining and go to the adventure worlds. You'll get both in spades.
Now this is just advice. I don't want SOE to put in controls that say "only 10 performers can be in a cantina at once" or anything. The game doesn't need controls on this. People need to get smarter and take control of their own lives, instead of wanting SOE to play the game for them, hand them anything on a silver platter, or make the game more difficult for everyone else. And yes, if you eliminate the possiblity of AFK Entertainer macros, it hurts everyone on the adventure worlds whose only choice IS AFK entertainers.
You might want to read before you post I said I DON"T do it for the tip, but for the fun and to meet people.
I myself don't goto the outlying worlds because the people who fight on these planets thinks they are too good to /tip the entertainers that go out there, not making it worth our while to go out there...even though they are getting 10-20k a mission.
I honestly hope that SOE puts in control for the AFK people so they can't do anything while they are AFK except stand around.
What's the big deal? I wonder what server all you non macro dancers are on because on ours almost all dancers are afk. You know what I'm glad too cause atleast someone is there to heal my mind at some godawful hour.
You aren'ta better dancer one way or the other in my book so long as my mind gets healed. Let's get off the soapbox and let people use their 15$ a month however they chose. Thanks for posting the macros to the one guy who actually helped the poster with his question. To others that turned this into a platform against afk dancers maybe if you don't want to help a poster, or just don't know how you shouldn't reply to their thread.

That's not my fault. It's yours.
When you cheat, it's definetly not my fault. I am going to criticize other peoples playstyles if it's cheating as I will ban people with aimbots from CS or the likes. I have never argued with people who were there. To each his own. If you aren't there, you have no playstyle, you don't play. If you get xp while you don't play, you cheat.
Knowledge of how to macro is not evil. No knowledge is evil.
You are right. However, giving the knowledge to someone who you know will use it for evil is what ?

Who gave me the right to determine what is or is notevil? Who gave ANY of you that right? Get off your high horse. Quit burning crosses on peoples' lawn because you don't like the way they look or something they do. Quit telling others how to play the game. Those actions are FAR worse than someone macroing in a cantina, whether it's on a populated planet or an adventure planet.

Bullsh!t. SOE has never said macroing using ingame tools is cheating. I challenge you to reference a single post from a red name or a single line in any of the official documentation to back your statement.
It may be cheating in YOUR mind, but that is YOUR problem, not mine.

This, combined with your post below it is dead on.
Soe has made it quite clear that unattended macroing is not cheating. they have not (to my knowledge) ever even acknowledged that anything will ever be done about it. While I may not like the fact that afkers can macro to master, and give passive buffs all along the way, it (and let me emphasize this) has never been a detrement to my play. If it has been a detriment to yours it is because you rely on the cantina culture and do nothing to remove yourself from the atmosphere that frankly encourages the macroing. Futhermore, given the powerful tools at our disposal, and SOE's encouragement through holocrons to master professions that would otherwise be left to other players, what do you expect?
Last but not least, what if someone geniuninely wants to play a master dancer? I macroed my way up through dancing and I still have my skills. I intend to keep them. I'm evil? Piss on you. Our class is *rediculously* easy to master. Let me reiterate. REDICULOUSLY. it can be done in a week without afk macroing, as can nearly every class in the game. I have not once seen you get on your high horse and demand the evils of an easily advanced class be removed. Not once have I seen any of you get up and complain that a group of 20 can advance you up 3 boxes of dancer in half a day.

put this in your F1 spot in your toolbar menu, you can make this as difficult or simple as you wish but this can get you started. Note tenddamage will cause bf but you'll heal it yourself anyway and it doesn't use stims in your inventory.
AFK if you want I don't care
...and give passive buffs all along the way...
I don't think you can give passive buffs to people with whom you are not grouped. This would preclude AFK entertainers from doing it in all but very rare cases.
Who gave me the right to determine what is or is notevil? Who gave ANY of you that right?

As I've said in this thread before, thearguments at both extremes of the afk issue have some problems. In this post Sigrun did the very thing he condemns people for.
Perhaps the truth is that people who don't like afkers are less hurt by their activities than they claim and that people who like to afk are doing more harm to other entertainers than they think.
