Sure..we need players to want to come to us for us to have an audience. But what we don't need are prisoners.

Do we honestly mean this?!?
I have a very, very hard time believing that we are doing something so vile by healing BF, that it can in any way, shape, or form be considered "imprisoning our patrons." Even the rangers, who as a rule choose their professions on the basis of being self-sufficient loners, agree that healing BF was never a punishment, but a welcome and unique feature in the game:

BF has never been that much of a burden to carry, even in large amounts, that the cantina is considered punishment in any sense of the term. Maybe, maybe the argument can be seen in terms of med centres. But never cantinas in terms of BF and mind wound healing.
I will say this, though. Many patrons have felt imprisoned with regard to those "positive reinforcements," or buffs that we used to give. They were imprisoned in buffing cycles, always worried about wasting valuable time doing the things they get the buff to do, and walking on eggshells wondering what they have to do to get out of the cantina with a buff in any reasonable time. But that's besides the point.
And in fact, the ones who agree with the notion that BF does not make them "prisoners"are in fact the combatants we serve.
So I wonder. What have I done so wrong to make the developers actually believe my patrons are prisoners? After all, there is no door on the cantina that is locked. They are free to leave at any time. If anything, I have given my patrons the utmost care and consideration. The cantina was never a prison when I was healing BF. It was a place the players wanted to be, some of them far in excess of when they really needed to be there.
I cannot say this about the unattended performers. Healing BF from them must feel like prison to a patron. But that only shows everyone why we who make the cantina amusing deserve a tip. We who actually entertain at the keys are not responsible for the boredom of the cantinas. It is those who cheat, take liberties with the EULA, and make a mockery of these professions who are responsible. The entertainers who, by all rights, shouldn't even be allowed to exist on the servers by SOE's own EULA. But rather than kick the cheaters out, SOE would rather redefine the whole game to make up for the cheaters' shoddy play.
I will not have an audience under the new system. I will have a row of Drive-Thru consumers of fast food who are really in no position to care about anything they see or hear in the cantina. They will demand, get cranky, and place us both in a prison. The patron will feel imprisoned because he or she doesn't want to be in the cantina. He or she wants to do whatever the "positive reinforcement" will facilitate.
And I will be in a prison too. Because there will be an endless stream of patrons who really could care less about how I entertain, but merely if I can give them the correct "value meal." And so rather than subjet both I and them to a venue and a game that neither of us feel comfortable in playing, they'll simply buy and grind up a "willing prisoner" to give everybody their happy meals with no real "hang ups" about say...getting tipped, or being asked nicely, or being asked at all.
Wow. All I can really say is that "I'm sorry." I never knew I was doing a crime by playing this profession.

hmm.. can i go back and kill mellichae again to get my cyborg arm? I'm a pre-cu jedi.
And if the final version has the same stuff, I'd hope somebody from the Dev team could tell us, or have the Corrs tell us, that BF's removal WILL be adequately compensated. I don't think a new song and dance, and some particle effects is going to seriously draw anybody to the cantinas, and I hope they have a lot more in the works to do exactly that.

The props are really neat, but that dancers can duel wield props?? I wonder if in the near future that opens it up for proffesions like pistoleers to duel wield pistols... hmm..

Yes..we have been shelved before..because of negative playerfeedback. No..I do not want us to be shelved again. We have worked too hard for this.
I move we put these changes on the shelf, and I'll tell you why.
Because we have new dancers, musicians, and entertainers who have no knowledge of these forums log in the day after the patch, play in the cantinas as usual, and wonder why nobody is coming to see the show, and why they are not getting tipped.

Me too. I'm really excited about these changes. Getting props is something that has been on our list for a long time, and I'm happy to see it implemented at long last. As far as BF and the inspiration buffs, I have faith that the devs are working on it (yes, you may all take turns calling me naive
