Thread: Thanks Devs for the stormies and ruining the cantinas

There was a discussion about this in the Corr Forum... which pretty much fell into the same sides overall immersion vs cantina immersion for Ents.

So, the Ent Corrs did try to predict and warn how this might be annoying for people who were in the Cantinas for long periods of time. I've been watching this thread (and fixing stars) and it's been kinda funny to see both sides expressed as the Ent Opinion.

Honestly, it makes me crazy to hear the same NPC dialog over and over again, but the basic idea is really cool. I just think it needs some tweaking, like Deila said earlier.

Bingo. Scan frequency, raid frequency, and verbal attacksneed to be toned down tremendously inside certain locations, but I enjoy small brawls in the cantina from time to time, and not just in front of the starport. Why should an Active Duty rebel be hanging around in the Theed cantina for extended periods of time, anyway? In times of war, I'm sure I wouldn't be welcomed into an enemy bar to sample the local flavor. I'd promptly be taken captive or shot.

Much as I support the TC team being one of them. Sadly this issue won't have come to light on TC as we work out of player cities for the most part. Therefore the ents won't have suffered on TC as our testing is in player cantina's almost exclusivly ( we'll go into a NPC one if there is an issue that needs testing but the community is firmly centered around player cities on TC. ).

In fact the bug is that Theed is under rebel control. The cities of Theed, Bestine and Bela Vistal are supposed to be always imperial, while the cities of Moenia, Coronet and Anchorhead are supposed to be always rebel. Unfortunately that seems somehow harder to implement than expected.

Nah, I did notice it on TC and I did /bug it. And I wasn't the only one. On TC however whole Naboo is under imperial control, even Moenia.

Actually, Naboo's imperial stronghold is Deej'a Peak, not Theed. There was early indication that Theed would be the imperial stronghold, but I guess that changed somewhere along the way.

This is the stupidest thing ever in my opinion.

It shouldn't be broken this long, and i'm sorry to say, it will NEVER be fixed.

It's been made more than obvious that our concerns are just ignored.

Posting in the Issues Thread didn't work.

The /bug didn't work.

We're stuck in NPC spam hell now. So people can come in and fill the cantina with perpetual blaster fire and we can now find it impossible to carry on a conversation in spatial.

Sorry, spent time in Moenia the other night, wanted to just rip the stupid rifle out of the Rebel's hands and shoot MYSELF in the head, I wanted out of there so badly.

Add to that statement that Vreni Island, not Coronet, is the actual Corellian Rebel stronghold.

I'm working on it. Both the spam frequency and the social hubs of the game being non-stop war zones where socialization is nigh-impossible. If it's intended to be that frequent, I'm asking for reductions. If a bug, asking it to be fixed.

On Scylla, Theed cantina scene is a shadow of what it once was with the largest concentrations of entertainers and customers in coronet. Since the patch,I have spent hours long periods in the Theed cantina, which is Rebel controlled, and have seen no ST raids. The average number of PCs is between 3-10.

Recently,I went to Coronet cantina for some BF healing and figured that being a Rebel in a Rebel controlled city, there would be no problem. I ran in not seeing the red dots amongst the throng and was immediately attacked by 3 STs. I backed out of the cantina to try to respect the venue, finished them off and was met my three more spawning shortly after re-entering. I ended up leaving and getting healed by a lone ent in Theed despite the fact that there were over 20 people in coronet.

Here is whatI am wondering. Are the raids a way of splitting up large groups of entertainer/customers and spreading them around the galaxy? Has anyone noticed a correlation between the size of groups in cantinas and the frequency of raids? Has anyone noticed raids on hotel or theatres? i understand that cantinas are supposed to be rough and tumble places, perhaps these other venues might be more sedate?

Yes, I've noticed that as well. On Radiant, I was in Coronet to get some healing and meet a friend at the cantina. The entertainer group had about 5 or 6 people in it. I was ther for about and hour to an hour anda half and only one raid took place. On Valcyn, I had gone to Theed to meet someone and there was constant raids going on like every 5 to 10 minutes. The entertainer group was pretty large and there lots of people in the cantina as well.

You may be onto something with this one. I noticed it a couple nights ago but didn't think anything of it. The 20 member group we had performing in Theed drew in about 6 patrols in 5 minutes. They stood there and spammed for 10 minutes and left. I'll have to check out hotels and theaters to see how they work.
