If you are dancing, the musicians are unaffected. If you are playing music, the dancers are unaffected. It is impossible to do both dancers and musicians with one command. The targetted flourishes just allow anyone performing (dancer or musician) to target a flourish at a specific instrument in the band, such as having all slitherhorns do flourish 1.

In other words, a dancer can do /bandflo 1 fizzz and the fizzzes will flourish #1, I think. (and the dancers will do nothing).

Right?

So you could do a macro like this, while dancing popular2:
/bandflo 4
/pause 2
/bandflo 3 fizzz

And it would start the #4 flourish (deep-knee bends), and 2 seconds later the Fizzzes would all flourish... and so on.

I think this is what they are getting at.

I gave up trying to coordinate dance/music when my roommate started playing, n'Jessi. I was horrified to hear that we quickly started drifting out of sync, so after only a minute or two we were hearing completely different flourishes.

I really think the AFK problem should be in all entertainer professions lists, so the devs can't pretend to not notice it. I am sure they will anyway....

I know its been mentioned before,but I would love to have props as a dancer or be able to buy certain items that allow you to perform a particular flourish using that prop.

Judging from the answers given to the Entertainers, IF we ever get any answers they won't have been worth the effort. That was the biggest bunch of non-answers I've seen since the last political debate. The DEVs are doing the entertainment professions a real disservice with the lack of attention they are giving us.
