Thread: how do you all deal with the nasties?

I guess I have been very lucky so far. Everyone has treated me very well, I have no complaints.

Probably now that I have said that, the trouble will start.

Lol how on earth would you know? Are you not the one who confesses in nearly every thread that you AKF macro? If you are not there you can't be harrassed or hit on...

If someone treats me in a way i find offensive my general response is to /smile at them and politely inform them that men have died for less. If they don't believe me I either kill them or have them killed. That is, of course, assuming it's all in fun/rp. If someone is really being a turd you have no choice but to ignore them and add to the /denyservice list.

Sigh. My own fault for trying to be humorous, I guess.

I should have known that some people were not going to like the AFK jokes.

You girls bring it on yourself. When 3/4th of the woman dancers flirt crazily with any guy who walks in the door what do you expect? Get off your high social horse. How do I know this? I'm almost master dancer on Chilistra and see it every second I'm dancing.

I'm failing to see how ingame flirting justifies d00dz asking about RL status and/or being rude. An entertainer flirts with you--you flirt back, you don't drop an "a/s/l?" on her. If you two hit it off, then you can ask about RL (if both parties are willing) and go from there.

Let me rephrase my position so that the "lemons for breakfast" crowd can better understand it.

Of the hundreds of people I have interacted with while dancing, none have been more rude or less friendly than some of the people that post in this forum.

How do you handle a guy who comes up and stands right on top of you? You move, he moves. You ask him to get out of your personal space, he licks/slaps/snogs you. Even worse when it's two of them, or three.

Happened to me the other day. Eventually someone in the cantina challenged one of them to a duel, which distracted all of them. I was tempted to just log, but then I was afraid of what they'd do to my "LD" avatar. I could have left the cantina, but gosh I'm a dancer and that's where I work. Why should I have to leave my workplace because a few guys are idiots?

And how does that deny service thing work, anyway?

I personally wish that ignoring people made them disappear. <sighs> That sounds really upsetting, hun. That used to happen in EQ, where collision detection made it possible to trap people. Not nice.

The nice thing about NOT going into cantinas is dealing with this question... :-)

First off, I am a r/l female... Rawwwr. ;-) However, I remember in my hardcore grinding dancing XP days, and the days when I actually danced, I used to get asked all sorts of innapropriate questions or had innapropriate comments made torwards me. I was not a huge flirter, but I was talkative and did enjoy talking to people who came into the cantina.

My favorite story is after I got Master, I decided I had to try something new, so I was working on Marksman. I was about 2000 meters north of Theed, running around shooting things when I got a private tell from someone asking me for a lap dance. No one was ANYWHERE near me where I was, so I sent him a message back telling him I was no where near the cantina and that I do not do that anyway. He got really demanding saying he would pay me well and that I had to come to Theed that moment, BLAH BLAH BLAH.After a while of himdoing this, and me asking him to leave me alone,I was getting very annoyed, and I made a comment along the lines of "I do not exist to sexually dance for some lame 15 year old boy who gets off on video games because he cannot get any in real life." Well, this clearly struck a chord because he responded by calling me a "pervert old man who gets off on my own avatar." Then he blocked me. DARN. I guess he thinks that all women are around for the pleasure and comfort of men in game and out of.

Just remember, there are buttheads everywhere. Just shrug them off and go on your merry way.

Wow someone actually wanted to talk to you? All I ever get is, "OMFG LOL!That dancer's macro targeted me and did an /emote."

I say something like, "No, I am really playing!"

Then I get, "HAHA! That macro even gets defensive!"
