Thread: Dancer buff exploit
Eh? What? In order to do a buff in under a minute, I requirea resource that costs me 1000 to 2000 credits. Seems expensive to me.

Because entertainer buffs don't require high quality and sometimes very expensive resources that med buffs do. If you don't have high quality you end up with 1500 buffs that last 2 hours and you still have to use resources.

A master doc can buff6 stats in1 minute, these buffs easily range from 1k to 3k+, and last for 4 hours. Why should it take 20 minutes to get the last 3 stats buffed, when they, at most give around a 1300 bonus that lasts for 2 hours?

20 minutes is not under a minute is it?

I was merely suggesting there are 2 options. 1) A full mind/focus/willpower buff takes 20 minutes to do... that's 20 minutes is an expensive resource. 2) A full mind/focus/willpower buff takes a minute to do... the expensive resource this time around is a quickness buff costing 1000-2000 credits.
Either way you go, an entertainer buff does take an expensive resource.

Uh yeah, that was my point. Doc buffs use resources which need to be high quality else the buffs are comparable to entertainer buffs in size/duration. Entertainer buffs use no resources so they're slower and force you to pay with time.

More costly would depend on who's time you're valuing and who's doing the valuation. Your time isn't the worth the same to you as mine is to mewhich isn't the same as the next guy's is to him. Further, the value I place on your time is dependent on what you do for me irregardless of how you value your own time. The reason people view your time as free is because that's how little they value what you do.
It seems to be entirely based on -net- Action points burned, and I never really burn any Action with the Doc buff up. (No buff: I see those big green negative numbers float off, with the buff, no numbers, no Mind buff duration.) Has this exploit(?) been quietly patched up? Is it just me and does buffing suddenly work differently for different people?
I tried it several times with the Quickness buff on, and had the same results each time: Even dancing for 8-10 mins, the Mind buff would not reach Max. duration. Then I had my Doc friend leave off the Quickness buff 'til after the dancing was done -- no problem. Mind buff hit max after 6-8 mins. of fairly leisurely dancing.

But time is the highest quality resource in the game.
