The audience comments are quite often very contradicting if its not complet jibberish. Ive been trying to help a friend do the first dance performance and she has been doing exactlywhat I did tothrough that part, routine wise and still failure. This last time, she got basically "dont do Rhythmic 2" but definitly do Flourish 2. Like alot who have posted already, no dance was specified as "wanted" She is about ready to give up but I just know if she does she will be very upset. Yet all our musician friends seem to have no trouble at all..of course I havent been to the Musician board..but still.
And DEVs what is the reason you gotta wait 24 hours to try again?? Its nonsense! Hardly seems worth it for a dance that is supposedly broken like Lyrical and Formal

I've been a Master Dancer for 14 months now, I've put on elaborate shows. I've trained and been trained by some of the best dancers in the game and I can't get past the first show because after 7 tries they have never once said what dance they want. The best I've ever gotten was one dance they didn't like and one flo they did like. Most of the times I got absolutely no information of any use from the audience. And yes I've polled each and every one of them. I quit this quest. I will not do it any more. I've taken down my Master Dancer title and will not dance anymore. I haven't dropped any dancer skil, yet, but that may be coming and if it does I will leave the game.
Thank you SOE, your broken quest for a broken dance have done what I didn't think possible, they have broken my spirit.

I'd hate to see you go, Rav. You and the rest of the Rancors are awesome. I understand where you are at though, and I really can't blame you. Just know that you'll be missed by more than just me if you do go.

Well, with the additional maintenance time on Sunrunner yesterday, it pushed my 24-hour retry so far out of whack, that I couldn't even attempt my fifth failure last night.
Do we eventually get a sympathy pass if we fail this thing enough times? Like if you fail it 10 times you get the lovely participation award for being a good sport and finally move on to the next step? Would at least put a small glimmer of hope that eventually you will succeed. lol

I've failed 4 total..
Failed the 1st performance once..
Failed the 2nd performance THREE times.
I have done each perfectly regarding polling the audience with /conv. In fact, suring my last failure, I only got ONE clue. All I got was "Basic2". I am so frustrated I want to scream.
Immediately after failing I helped 3 other dancers do theirs.. they all got 5 clues and passed easily. Ugh!!!

I passed the 2nd show earlier, it may of been just me but, i was told to do basic and flourish1 and 8, no flo 4. so what i did was remove my flo 4 hotkey and started to dance. I alternated doing flo 1 then a different flo then 8, doing 5 per exp tick in basic, i noticed my rating started to drop s is did the other basic dances, basic 2, rhythmic 1 and 2. It went up a bit then down again, so i did the more advanced dances. Each one i did bumped the ratingi up more, i ended up doing every dance i knew aside from lyrical and formal, and kept a satisfied rating till the end.
Excuse me if this doesnt make much sense, i'm quite tired.

Bringing a friend helps so much. I passed the first performance but failed on the second performance. I had a feeling I was gonna fail the second performance as they wanted flo 2 and 5 and 2 different dances, so I wasn't sure if I should stick to those to dances and those 2 flos, or just do a bunch of dances and mix up the flos. I brought my entertainer droid on stage to add effects, not sure if it helped but who knows really. Gonna try the second one again today.
I passed my first performance test in Mos Eisley btw.

kirah_ashlin wrote:The thing I find just as exasperating is that we don't seem to have a 24 hour timer, but a 25 hour one. I did try 24 hours after my first failure on performance three and the manager told me to come back. That puts the quest back an additional hour - if this keeps up I'll be performing at 3am soon!Or not - I'm not going to keep trying over and over again to win a broken dance.
Ohhh I got this one. I'm sure the 24 hour timer is based on server uptime and not a real world clock. When the server is down for maintenance every morning (another bone of contention) the clock stops ticking. On the plus side, our building maintenance clocks also stop ticking and we don't get charged for the EVERY DAY downtime. (lol)
Another note though about the 24 hour wait. It's kinda cool in a way. Since I have to go and try-out every day, its almost like my character has a "job" to go to that is related to her best abilities.

Panthu, I hate the timers. They make me a sad panda. They're so damn unfair.
Awww! She pulled sad panda on me! *sniff*
Oki, I'll kick it up a notch.
Kirah - Grats! BTW, when did the other blonde start telling everyone to be her friend in her sig? ... It used to feel so exclusive to say "Lei." *sigh*

Is it just me or does it seem that the musicians have an easier time of it completing the quest?
yes! i had NO trouble doing it as a musician. as a dancer, they are not telling me the dances to do/avoid.
very frustrating.

Ugghhh....I don't know I must've gotten extremely lucky or something.
I failed my first two auditions for musician but then passed all the performances with no failures and just finished the Dance one tonight and passed everything on it with no failures.
My last performance I hit "satisfied" with alot of time left.../shrug
I just used the same method on every performance with working in the flo or flos they liked and avoided the ones they didn't. They liked Flo 6 and 1 in my last performance and had none that they didn't like so I just did my standard 6-1-8-6-1-7-6-1-2....etc...
They gave me two dances they liked Popular and Footloose and I only did Footloose for maybe 10 seconds of the whole test.
/comfort
Keep on trying all

Its odd, dancer was easy for me, 2 audition failures, then no performance failures, musician on the other hand... I can't get past performance 1 to save my life
