Ok, just had an idea, let me know what you think.
As I said I'm not completely happy with the fact that the buffs are split again.
Right now it seems to be like this:
Musician - General, Artisan, Ent, Arch, DE, WS, SW, AS & Dancer
Dancer - General, Artisan, Ent, Chef, Tailor, BE, Merchant, ID & musician
Lets keep that like this till the novice boxes, then add new "professions" to the Dance Enhancement line.
Like this (illustrated at example of dancer, works for Musicians too, just with reversed skills)
Novice Entertainer: General, Artisan, Entertainer
Novice Dancer: Chef, Tailor, BE, Merchant, ID, Musician
Dance Enhancement 1: Dancer (yeah lets give us our own buff pretty early
Dance Enhancement 2: Architect
Dance Enhancement 3: Droid Eng
Dance Enhancement 4: Shipwright
Master Dancer: Armorsmith, Weaponsmith
The order of it can be changed, and the "double skill" given at another box (like Dancer+Architect in Dance Enhancement 1 or so)
For Musicians it would be the same just that they get the Dancer-buffs spread over their Enhancement line.
The effect would be that at Novice you can only buff parts, but a Double Novice can do all (but has to switch between music/dance to do so), and a Master Musician or Master Dancer can do every buff without switching.
Also make Masters buff faster than Novices, and Double Masters faster than single Masters.

Ooooh, that would be a great compromise! I wonder if they'd do that?
I think it's kinda perfect. ![]()

Here are some of the tests that Panthu, Senom and Leno did on TC.
Instead of musical and dancing enhancement skills being tied to how fast a buff is applied, it is now applied to the max duration of buffs:
A non-twi'lek novice entertainer (0000)can give a 1:18 h inspiration buff (when dancing)
A non-twi'lek novice entertainer (0100) can give a 1:26 h inspiration buff (when dancing)
A twi'lek novice dancer can give a 2:15 h inspiration buff (when dancing)
A twi'lek dancer (0100) + musician (0200) gives a 2:53 inspiration buff (when dancing)
A twi'lek master musician + master dancer + masterentertainer can give a 3:28:30 inspiration buff

No buffs for combat aside from experience? Wow, that seems kind of silly considering that combat professions make up nearly the entire top 20 most taken professions.

Well I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised. First, I didn't think this would happen for many months, since we have heard nothing on it since publish 20. Second, I would never have guessed they'd actually go with the click-box thingy, which is something we have been asking for in terms of buffing since the days of Sinda Blackstar being the most prominent and eloquent poster on these forums (and for those who have been around the whole time, you know how long ago that is).
I like that we get to choose what is being buffed, so this makes players talk to us and ask us about them... yay for socalizing again! (Instead of how it is now, where they can, and do, just silently walk in, target and watch me for 30 seconds, and silently walk out.) And the fact that, other than violating the EULA, it can't be botted... let's just HOPE they have the strength of will to keep it like this (you know the bot owners will scream).
If this goes in more or less as you describe it, I will have to eat my hat. And gladly. Can someone pass the mustard?

Well there is a logic to this. The crafters can craft in the cantina, and are usually not in an exp.-gaining rush. They are usually not grinding the hell out of XP in tightly organized groups designed to maximize their XP. Instead they are usually, fairly slowly, going about amassing the required materials, experimenting in different ways with differnt bonus areas, to get the best product that they can. And of course other profs like entertainers are in the cantina anyway. So the thinking on this (and I can't say I disagree) is that the non-combat profs are not as likely to consider going to get a buff as "inconvenient enforced down time", and so they will be more receptive. With crafter droids (or, gasp, if the devs would just put crafting stations into the cantinas themselves) it's conceivable you could have a crafter sitting for hours in the cantina, asking for different buffs as he goes through different stages of experimentation and crafting.
That is the theory, at least. Whether it actually works remains to be seen, but I'm willing to try it. The way they have implemented this (at least how it sounds) is the key -- click boxes and dancer/musician's "choice" of what to buff (of course we would choose what we are asked for but WE are in control, and it's not, easily at least, bot-able). As I say, if it goes in like this, I am prepared to eat crow, and I will do it gladly, since this is 90% of what I have been asking for since the day mind buffs went in the old way.

I just think that they realize that most Crafters are in the same "Social Profession" boat as Entertainers are. Bringing crafters to the cantinas may just improve the social aspect for both of them.

Combat players get faction point boost as well. But that's all for now.

I like the non-Combat focus, I think it's awesome!!
Having crafters want our services is going to rock I think.
I'm also pretty excited about being able to be temporarilybuffed into Mando and Torches on my non-MEnt Dancers - Senom made me a new mando to test it with, with my name on it./preen.

This looks really promising! I have a few comments... in no particular order:
- Astromech stats show that musician numbers are far lower than dancer numbers. Will it be difficult to find a musician, and will musicians command more of a price?
- Tailors don't really get much because currently there is no experimentation or resource quality. Perhaps this may change in the future. Having said that, I'm VERY happy that inspirations do not affect colors, as colors are considered "necessary" to the tailor profession.
- Active buffing is VERY nice, and will make ATK the way to go. However, again, looking at the astromech stats, it seems that the specific buffs will benefit less than 50% of the gaming population, so combat types will still gain maximum benefit from AFK entertainers.
I guess we'll see how this plays out, but I'm liking the direction this is going!

You can use mando and torches without MEnt with that buff?
Not sure if thats so good... I might just drop MEnt and the ID boxes then and Master Carbineer again.
