Thread: Dancer Buffing Problems Found on TC

Is it fair to make dancers more important to punish the rest of us? There are not frankly enough dancers to buff every person that want a mind buff on my server. If i am running a 20 man raid on the DWB i need to find that many dancers just to get them buffed. that to me is not right.
Already it's starting and apparently it's our fault...
Uh, two things Virus:
1. You'll notice that it's being called here a bug and being reported as such.
2. We did not ask for this issue. We did not create this issue. If you've got problems with what's right or fair, talk to the devs or report it yourself, because we had nothing to do with this.
Now if this happens to benefit live entertainers in some way while it lasts, we're gonna enjoy it while we can. You can't blame us for that.

Interesting. So a tag team can still take care of large groups while bots are SOL....
Essentially correct. The critical key that I'm stressing to entertainer players is that group buffs require that the patron(s) do things in the right order, and yes... the tag team can handle large groups without incident provided the patron follows those instructions.
The reason that I've reported this to the entertainer communities here as bad news is that the critical step in having passive dance buffs work at all depends on the actions of the one being buffed, and we know that such things can be dangerous to Dancers' reputations as service providers. As Tess has cautioned, we're worried that those seeking buffs will just think that all Dancer buffs are broken, and not bother even trying to find them. We just need to stay on top of how to keep our buffs working, and once again instruct customers in how to not blow it. ![]()

I agree with you, and don't agree with those who think this is a good thing. Fact of the matter is, the vast majority of my buffing these days is done in group situations, for guild members or friends. And, most of the time that I do this, we don't have a musician in the group. This is a very very bad thing, in my mind.
Not only that...but Kettemoor has a lot of team buffers. One does dance, the other does music. The hardcore buffbot supporters will learn how this works and pass it on to their friends, and they'll go to the team bots. More and more people will catch on and you're going to have team bots all over the place. I already know of at least THREE team bots on my server. This doesn't help me. In fact, this makes my dance skills even more useless. ![]()

I am a combat player only..
Please I know you guys hate the buffbots but for combat it is essential to get both buffs as fast as possible..dumb system blame the devs please.. not us combat afficionados
I don't blame you, I blame the bots, the hologrinding, and the Long-term AFK macroing abilities in the game.
My qestions
1; Is it still possible to get my whole group of 19 buffed simultaneuosly.. does the dance and music have to be sepereately done if so..
It is possible for your whole group of 18 combatants with 2 Entertainers buffed at the same time. Passive dance buffs cannot be done aloneanymore.
2: Can music and dancestill be done seperately bye a person with musician and dancer for the wholegroup like before the patch
Yes, as long as that person does an active Dance buff
3: Can the whole group get both dancer and music buffs in 3.5 mins now..if so how?
Have two Entertainers in the group--one doing music one doing dance. At the end of the 3 1/2 minutes, have everyone in the group first /stopwatch and then /stoplisten. All 18combatants should get their buffs.
4; Or do we have to get it done individually which will take my group an hour to do?
If simultaneous buffing is not possible, Dance buffs will need to be applied individually.
Please explain this in simple terms for us knuckledragging weapon weilders
I hope it was clear enough
Our jedi at times cannot go to a cantina to buff ..also if our groups wish to surrise anyone we prefer to buff in our own cantian ..many guilds have dedicated master dancer/musicians. however we rarely have 2 characters. Usually one that does both.
Does the above statement mean we cannot do group buffs seperately anymore... or is there a work around? Dance first only them music second ?
Individual buffs are worthless for PvPrs putting together a group
As far as the group thing... Yes You need Two Players at the same time in the group. One Dancing and One playing Music.

Ok this sentence worries me a great deal..
Passive (group) dance buffs work if received simultaneously with a music buff, with the same instructions as for Active buffs above.

Valid concerns.
At this time, we have found no known workarounds for passive (group) dancer buffs alone. Less a problem for a single Jedi (who can get an active /setperform buff), more a problem for group raids if a single entertainer was previously used in the past.
I have filed the reports of last night's testing (well.... if you consider that "filed" is the same thing as startinga near media blitz with the devs to get the info into their hands as quickly as possible
), and am hoping for change to the buffing code sooner rather than later.
Thanks Delia. I hope sooner rather than later too. I think once people realize the consequences of this bug, they will realize this is definitely *not* a good thing no matter how you slice it. Sure, an individual dancer *may* get an increase in customers for a month or so. But, as I said, team bot buffers WILL surface en masse. The team bots that I know of on my server were there long before this particular patch. In the end, this is only going to make live dancers suffer even more than they already do, due to having yet *another* way that we won't be able to compete, another stage of uselessness...ie, me not even being able to buff my group out in the field because there's no musician available.
