Thread: Guide to Patch 12.1 Buffing

Thank you very much for clearing that up for me. So once this "bug" is fixed, we will be able to buff Dance and Musician AT the same time, making buffing up easier.
Just to clarify, because I'm not quite sure what your expectations are/were...
Thechangewas not to make it so that one character whois both Dancer and Musician can deliver both buffs at the same time. The change was so that if someone wanted to get buffs from a Musician and a Dancer (as in, seperate performers) at the same time, they would be able to, as we could prior to the introduction of Publish 9.
So, 'tis a bug.
And a wake up call for people who rely on NPCs that are currently on the way out of the game a tad too much
This a good concept, but most guilds only have one dancer/musician for the whole purpose of mind buffs. Now if they dont fix this bug, which btw I hear they new about from Test, we are going to have make another character and obviously pay for it, so we can get our buffs. The reason for test center is so that they can fix the bugs before they go live, they should have never brought this live if they new it didnt work..

actually my buff bot works if i do the music buff first, people don't stop listen, then get the dance buff and stop listen stop watch.
Yes you are correct
I have been buffing dance and music in groups this morning. I do it live only difference.
The problem is that not all really listen, and Buffs should not be made harder to obtain. They are now and it seems that the Entertainers are being blamed for a bug that has made it into the game. We do not wish Buffs more complicated at all.

bingo... both dance and music buff applied to the entire group... so stop whining and do some testing. Doesn't require that much thinking to work this out.
But it's really hard to update that in your spam chat! Waaaaaa *cough* Sorry, I was channeling a Bot for a second there. ![]()
Just kidding... er, bot powa! Or whatever. *shrug* The stark contrast in between the desires of Social players who these profs were meant for and those ofthe (non-social? anti-social?) pro-Bots that were never intended just really stand out whenever a new topic calls out both groups in the same thread. I don't see how anyone can miss the point of these profs and the fact that they are way off track, but, meh.
What's been amazing to me is the number of assumptions that we some how wanted to be nerfed by this bug and that so many buff bot owners/patrons would prefer to complain to us until we provide them with ways to fix their bots rather than try to figure it out for themselves. Isn't the whole point of their bots existence so they don't have to depend on us for anything? They wanted to be free of having to deal with us. They've managed to script & set up their bots without our help. So many of them have been nothing but abusive toward us. They come here slinging accusations & then want us to provide the answers to their dilemma? Unbelievable.

I wouldn't mind if we had a non-bot standing in our cantina all day long playing music and then dancing a bit... but since we couldn't find anyone who wanted to do that, we replaced it with a very small script. Active dancers/musicians is pretty rare most places... so until that spot is filled, a script will have to do the job.
remind you, it took me about 10 minutes to work around the bug myself. then i told you guys how to do it.

Yeah, I don't understand the hostility in some of these posts - broken group buffing mechanics hurts *any* Entertainer, as buffing in groups is the only timely way to buff more than a few folks. If there's a massive PvP battle in the works, you kind of have to buff in a group, or by the time you buff the 20th person with /setperform, the first buffee would lose almost 1/2 of their buff.
And I do find it pretty funny that the second some bug hurts the bots, their owners come here to voice their frustrations and demand to know how to fix it. And they instantly assume it's something that we somehow instigated. Man, that's some serious paranoia.
Thanks for all the folks who have worked with the current state of our buffs, and found what worked and what didn't. This is really something that none of us need. They let us buff simultaneously, THENnearly make itmandatory we have both a Dancer and Musician to Dance buff. That's whack, yo ![]()
