It's simple really. I'm reporting the facts. I'm not making any statements about convenience, ease of use, PvP applications, or how anyone should feel about these bugs. I'm reporting the facts as they currently stand, as tested by people who stayed up all night (myself included) to even find the ways to make buffs work reliably as far as they can be while subject to these bugs.

cmon Folks...its easy:
The entertainers are simply SCREWED.
And again, by a "design error".
Whats the common case ?
You creat a Master Dancer/Musician for your guild and put into cantina.
Peeps in hunting group invet him/her and get group buff.
This mechanism is not working anymore, the profession is SCREWED.
Simple..no excuses - simply screwed !
SoE. change this back please if you dontmind, i pay you 15$ a month for my entertainer and would liketo use it as im used to....

Try this then.. It's also easy..
They know this is broken now. But it will not be fixed immediately. Realistically tomorrow would be the earliest it would be fixed, more likely later in the week. Until then we have to deal with it. This thread was started to discuss how we can deal with it until it is fixed, not to gripe about it being broken.

I dont care...im not looking up a "how to deal with it solution".
i have a toon , i pay for, its bugged, so fix it.
I mean, i dont tell you "Oh...the car you just bought here has no brakes ? Then driver slower, youmight come to a full stop right in front of the red light".

We understand that you would like to see the bug fixed. I'm sure we all would, but the above advice is the workaround for dealing with it now. That is all. We do not know how quickly or easily the bug might be resolved. In the mean time this is what our great group of folks that stayed up late last night to come up with something so that buffs can be done passivley in some manner. Even if it is a pain in the hind quarters.
Weather or not you wish to deal with it is not relevant, the fact is you will be dealing with it until/unless they fix it. There is no need to gripe at or insult the persons that know dance buffing best particularly when they're trying to help you.

So the only way to get a mind buff now is to have the Entertainer /setperform. Is it a bug or is this a proper fix?

No, you can still get passive group buffs as a dance, but they must be applied simultaneously with the Musician buff AND you must /stopwatch the dancer before you /stoplisten the musician. The ability for a dancer to give a passive buff without a Musician buffing session going at the same time is what has been broken. Musician buffs (as far as the ent community can tell) are working as always.
In any event, DarkYoda explained it better in the original post on this thread. Mabye you should take another read of it.

Yeah, despite my grumpiness in the other thread...and believe, I am seriously dismayed at this turn of events...I do want to thank the testers and our correspondent for doing everything that they have done and will continue to do. The sad fact of the matter is this workaround does not work for me. I will still be able to give individual buffs in the Cantina...but, I do not expect my clientele to rise, as they will simply go to the team bots. It means that I can no longer buff in group situations in the manner that I normally do. That means, of course, that I won't be able to group buff, because it's highly unlikely that we'll be able find musicians at our beck and call whenever we need them. So, I definitely thank the testers for a workaround for those of us who are going to find it useful. And, I'm glad a ruckus is being raised. If it weren't for people like you all, this would never get fixed. So, thank you...and I mean that in all sincerity. I just know that this is going to seriously put a dent in my buffing ability despite the workaround, because of how I buff and under what circumstances I buff.

I'm not an Entertainer so I'm really lost on this. I tried to get a Dancer buff and it didn't work, I tried to get a Musician buff and it didn't work. So if I understand correctly, they're trying to eliminate the AFK buffbots?

I'm not an Entertainer so I'm really lost on this. I tried to get a Dancer buff and it didn't work, I tried to get a Musician buff and it didn't work. So if I understand correctly, they're trying to eliminate the AFK buffbots?
No, this fix was not an attempt to stop buffbots.
You see, prior to Publish 8 (I believe it's been a bit) you could get both Music and Dance buffs simultaneously. That publish broke that ability and you could only get Music or Dance buffs one at a time (active or passive) not siultaneously. The fix put in today was supposed to bring back the ability to get simultaneous dance and music buffs. It did bring back this ability, but in the process it broke the ability to give group dance buffs alone. It makes it such taht you *must* be getting a passive Music buff at the same time as your passive dance buff to receive a passive dance buff. Music buffs were not affected by today's patch.
Does that clear it up?

I'm all for people raising their voices on this, because it sucks for everyone involved, but don't blame the entertainers for something the developers broke. Whether you want to believe it or not, in all the things we've asked for in an attempt to fix AFK buffing, this was never one of them.
Everyone calm down and help us deal with this rationally, please.
(What's this? Fuschia telling people to be rational? THE END OF THE WORLD IS NEAR!)

Thank you very much for clearing that up for me. So once this "bug" is fixed, we will be able to buff Dance and Musician AT the same time, making buffing up easier.
