Oh yes, and the one other thing...
Yes, when you're getting your 10 people to watch you, the watchers, not the performer, are getting the message "You are entertaining (char name). You must entertain X more people to achieve Popularity Rank One.", and "Congratulations! You have achieved Popularity Rank One."
Interesting to note that the messages actually contain the correct character name of the person watching, not %TT. Think setperform here.

Maybe a novice entertaner who is a dancer can do these, because there are two dances at novice entertainer. I'll test this later. I know for a fact that a novice entertainer cannot do the music side. I tried it and the manager told me I wasn't prepared andto come back later when I had more skill. (This could be because I was a novice entertainer, or it could be because I only knew one song...)

YAAAAAYYYYY! ha ha ha
Ok seriously though, dang I am DYING to try these out and contribute to testing, but my entertainer on TC is 0/0/0/0.I wish I could copy La'lepa to TC...when are they going to implement that, darn it? I can work on Gilma (my TC dancer), but dang it's gonna take forever to get even to novice dancer.
You could probably test our theory about novice entertainers being able to do the dance part, because I tried with a novice entertainer as a musician, and they only know one song--but you start out with 2 dances.

btw has anyone ever heard the Salon music? I drop by the Salon at least every other day and I've never heard any different music in there.... it was in the Patch Notes today, but I still can't hear any music........ am I missing something?

Definitely. To properly test (which we'dnever have enough time to do), every possible combination of conditions and actions should be tried and repeated. Since that's a lot of options to try to run, let's get at least the broadest sample range we can. We need 0/0/0/0 entertainers to try, full masters, and every stage in between.

Lei stopped by the theater and talked to the manager, but she toldher to return whenshe had more experience.

My statement that novice entertainers can do the first two stages of thequests was based on, well, two novice entertainers completing them.
As in, neither of ushad reached Novice Dancer. Point is thatbeing anelite professionis (thusfar in the quest progression)not necessary for participation in the quests.I wanted to clear that up ahead of time in light of the confusion surrounding the use ofentertainer droids.
I'm not certain that you *need* to know two songs as a musician either, as I haven't personallytested it, and haven't heard any reports from those who have actually tested. The other dancer testing with me the other day was asked to change dance from Rhythmic to Rhythmic, and thusfar, no one that I know of has been asked to perform a song or dance that they did not know. If the system randomly selects songs or dances that you do know, which seems to be the case, and the judges can ask you to "change" to the same song or dance you're already performing, then it is within bounds of reason that they could ask a musician to change from SW1 to SW1.
However, it still may require that first skill box in either dance or musicto even get the audition - which is fine as well. When I get a chance, I'll make a new character on TC, take novice entertainer at 0 0 0 0 and try the theatre manager. If I'm told to come back when I have more experience, I'll get one box of music or dance, and try again.

It is also possible that the AI does require you to have two songs, but of those two songs (or however many you have), it picks them at random (sort of like shuffling on your CD players). I know that in the past on my CD player it has shuffled randomly and played the same song that it just played. But, it requires a minimum of two songs to do the shuffle...which may or may not result in having to do the same dance twice.
I haven't tested, but I think that is probably what's going on here given all the examples, including the one where a novice entertainer who tried to do musician was told to come back when they have more skill.

Novice entertainers have also tried to do dance and have been told to come back. There are two dances at novice entertainer.

I just tried the quest again on TC2.............. failed mission one cuz I could not see the judge chat :'(
I reset my Chat in Options to default multiple times but still can't see the chat... I tried talking to the Musician Trainer and he turns towards me when I Converse but I do not see any chat...... the 'don't show NPC chat' thing seems to be bugged independently of the Entertainer Quest...
I also tried setting it to NOT show NPC chat, but I still couldn't see the Musician Trainer chat................
/bug sent
headed to TC1 now with my 0100 ent

Liloman, I just re-read your reply about resetting game options from the Launchpad..... I didn't try that yet
I will try that now, but it should be reset-able from the in-game options
