Facts and Lies...
From signature, noone can be judged. My signature consist characters which I actively play on various galaxies on same account and someone can't be NEW to entertaining, can they?
AFK or ATK, we lived in cantinas still living. Do you know the fact of galaxies I play has no ATK entertainers beside group leaders IN NPC City CANTINAS. (citation) Are those serverscrowded than china? I dont think so. 1 of 20...or 3-4 if they do 'private shows(!). They only wake up to ask for training. That is why I don't train them. You may ATK entertain, no offenses to that. But if you type macro here or not, he will find it from some other AFK entertainer orwhich is worse BOT. But even ATK entertaining you use SAME MACRO...
No lies here, No one presses Flo 1 or flo 2 or flo 3 while chitchatting pressing them by Function keys or toolbar... Sorry, but I do press Flo 1, Flo 2, etc. chitchatting by pressing the functions keys. I even type the command at times while chatting. One of the benefits of being able to type 100 wpm. So easy to tell here "Yes I do, no, I never went AFK while dancing". I never AFK my profession on my way in becoming a master dancer. Have I been AFK before; yes but because I stepped away from the computer. If I am going to be gone for more than 20 min, I log. I apologize if I have integrity. If you ask all of entertainers they never went entertaining AFK.
"Oh no, I press keys" YES IN GIGS but 99% of your paid time dancingbased on macro ATK or not. Noone asking here to give buffbot macro... Thats the point.
If you basically don't help, remove HELPER tags, stop chit chatting and stop this kinds of jokes. Because they are not FUNNY...
Look,
I'm a person that caused 5 of bots in my main server banned with reason of making unplayable enviroment for ATK entertainers. I'm the same one discussed with two CSR's in avatar about 3rd party programs they use. But here cookie, coffee, go log out, go kill yourself arguments never helped entertainers and will never help..
Thank you and kindly regards

And you post that ATK entertainers are 1 in a million. Do you have the statistical fact to back this up?
Are dancers hostile to this type of request? In general terms, yes.
Was some of these comments called for? I will let the rest of the community to decide.
Could had people responded to this request in a more favorable light? Most definitely from all sides of this little spat that has erupted.

I replied your first question to Pickless with same worries. But 5 stars for you mate, somehow people here tend to deny their anger and hate in the name of "joke" . People has been so paranoid thinking every single AFK person is their enemy or potantial bot.
Relax everyone. Noone doing anything to our proffession by being AFK, after all being ATK in that AFK people mess is a virtue in most of player community. I did not hear cries of combat proffessions while many people killing low-level NPC's in NPC cities as being AFK with reason of killing proffession. Before ID revamp, no ID said macro leveling killing their proffession.
What is we don't agree is doing this proffessions "services" as being AFK which I hope will be solved by removing /join /disband commands from macros preventing bots main targeting.
Everybody needs to relax and do not initiate attacks on posts where they see "macro" word thats all... I use macros to skip my base dances to flourishes with good timing. I use macros to compose different tunes and styles adding lyrics to songs... macros are essential for me. If you gonna blame me I use macros so do it.. That will be your shame. It would be same as playing symphonies without notes otherwise...

Just as an aside, I DO use many macros while dancing and they look great, the first kind is timed for each dances flos so that it gives precisely 5 seconds between the FULL amount of time taken for each flo. For instance if flo 3 on dance "X" takes 21 seconds the pause will be 26 seconds after that line. the 2nd type is used for group bandflos and takes flo/dance timing into account for each and simply substitutes /bandflo for /flo. One reason to post this is while we all seem to agree that afk macroing is "bad", i have met plenty of people who equateATK macroingwith AFK macroing and i believe this is silly.
The macros are vital to me precisely because I want to be social and interactive with my customers. I want to be able to "walk and chew gum at the same time" esentially. I know people who take great pride in not using macros while dancing and whether that is simply their way of assuring graceful dancing or simply because writing macros intimidates them...i dont know nor do i care. Because some people choose not to use the tools given to us to increase the quality of our performances shouldn't mean everyone should have to.
I know what you're saying, and I believe that macros can be a very useful. It is very sad that so many people equate macroing with AFK-macroing. I've seen plenty of things on Kettemoor from ATK entertainers that were successfully enhanced with the use of macros.
I certainly don't equate AFK-macroing with macroing. I know that there are plenty of legitimate ways to macro such as what you suggest. I know plenty of people who take advantage of aliases in order to write some pretty sophisticated shows. I personally have used macros to write up little mini performances. I did this so that at times I can sit back and watch my screen and the pretty show. I can still be awed by what they did program that I just want to sit back and enjoy the shows that can be created. My macros are for my amusement. If I'm performing on the spot, I will flourish and use my techniques all by hand.
One thing I will note is that the only time I've ever written a recursive macro for anythingI used waswhen I was helping my boyfriend work on doctor. He had one box to go in healing, and I threw on all the armor I could wear unbuffed. I then wrote a simple flourish macro with a /color thrown in and had it loop back on itself. We were in his private house, and I pressed that button as many times as I could and just let him work on healing me. I chatted in guild chat and to some friends as we did this. It didn't take that long for him to finish up doctor. The only reasonI kept that macro beyond what I intended on using it for... was it was a useful way to distribute a buff. Fortunately not many people were ever privvy to this spasm macro of mine...I rarely got asked for a buff outside myboyfriend's character and the occasional guild member.

On a whole other note, I broke my head tonight... I was bending down to pick up toilet paper at Kroger and whacked my head on one of those STUPID coupon dispensers.
Ow.
Ouch! Those things are leathal, aren't they? And they are so popular insuper marketsbecause the companies pay big bucks to get their coupons automatically dispensed at the stores. Theyclutter the aisles and take up way too much space, don't offer the same value that the coupons you clip out of the newspaper do and are generally rather too bold and austentageous in their appearance. I make a point of ignoring them and their flashy offers. Gee . . . sound like anything else we know? ![]()
Raspberry hot cocoa, anyone? Oh! And try one of these scones! They are heavenly!

I don't want to get into the whole AFK/buffbot thing. There's already a thread for that. Just don't generalize. When you say "all entertainers use macros to entertain while AFK" on this forum, expect some flak. You can make your point without lumping everyone under the same umbrella.
That's all I'm saying.Message Edited by picklesSW on 12-29-2004 12:35 PM
Have to agree with Javy, REAL entertainers ( who make up the majority of the people who read this forum ) DON'T take extented AFK breaks from the keyboard when entertaining. They'll step away to grab a coffee, fix something to eat, answer the call of nature, that type of thing. But if they are physically going to be away from more than 10 mins then they will logoff. Just on Starsider I can list a list as long as my arm of entertainers who DON'T AFK and they are often the majority of the population of Theed and Eisley Cantinas.
