I'm an ATK entertainer, always was and always will be with my other toon.I have set up a few macros for specific purposes. I have one that I use when I need to tlak to a lot of people when they are sending me a ton of tells and I cant respond to them fast enough, when I step out to use the lav, or when I'm involved in some serious discussions. The other I set up basically is for a song and dance combo that I can in no way physically type that fast to make it all flow together as a real performance. only once haveI been AFK (fell asleep sitting in my big comfy recliner while playing late at night *blush) and I felt bad about not being there to talk to the patrons and my new friends. As for AFK entertainers/buffbots, well it's a split decision. It's nice to be able to get healing 24/7 but the lack of socializing with them is boring. I enjoy talking to entertainers when I need to use them for healing or when I need a break and want to talk to someone. I tip more to ATK entertainers for their services than I do to AFK entertainers. As an entertainer, I tend to feel slighted when I want to dance for the patrons but no one wants to watch me because they think I'm just another AFK dance bot. So combat the AFK entertainers, I try to interact with everyone I see coming into the cantina and it lets them know that I am not another dance bot. Seems to work well since I'm starting to get another growing pool of fans who seek me out to watch me perform. Macros have their place for entertainers, but used sparingly and for complex actions (like lyrics used with dancing) and special performances. Just my 2 creds worth.
