Incorrect. Not everyone chooses to continue entertaining while AFK. Read his post again, and please stop generalizing.
Believe me my friend one in a million...
Then I'm that one. I don't entertain while AFK. Oh, I may keep dancing while I step away long enough to let my dog in, but if I'm going AFK for a significant period of time, I sit my ass down.
Look, I'm not here to argue the AFK issue. I'm saying don't generalize and don't whip imaginary numbers out of your butt. Yes, lots if not most entertainers use a macro to keep entertaining while AFK, for a variety of reasons. I accept that. I don't give them crap in the game for doing it.
But do not assume that just because most entertainers do it that all do. Or that all but 1 in a million do. If you have actual statitistics to back up your claims, then provide them. Otherwise, you're making accusations and generalizations that you simply cannot know to be true, and that I know for a fact to be false, and inciting the ire of a community in the process. We have enough problems in this community without that sort of thing.
Sorry friend, the point you stuck at is generalising. But exceptions does not break the facts and you should know that better than me. Weare just fooling ourselves that ATK entertaining is alive by pointing people less than fingers on a hand. We all suffer from same things. If buffbots exist, this is our own fault too.. (I'm generalising again as entertainer community) Statistics is your eyes.. Go any NPC city cantina and you can see how big this issue is, you don't even need to question me about this because rest of player community besides us SAW this and buffbots born.
Dialogue with a dancer friend in one of server that I'm not doing entertaining while I get my BF healed, someone came and asked for buffs, there was a few masters in around 3 of them were AFK and my friend was chatting with me.
- He is asking for buffs, wont you give a buff?
- Bah, he will ask for 2 times and then go will buff from bot.
And yes, he asked a few more times and went to bots. Is this bots fault?
And one more question... why do I hear crack sounds from entertainer community when we support recursive macros to completely go away? Why do devs think they dont remove those macros because of entertainers and crafters?

That's all I'm saying.

And Ill 1 star my heart out for people supporting the downfall of my profession in any way shape or form thats right. If you dont like being 1 starred, support a profession. in their forum, dont try and destroy it further then what its already at.
This thread is obviously meant to step on toes, and I doubt if the original poster wont one day grow up to be a buffbot if he gets that high before their ability is removed.

I mainly run that while I want to chat. If I was going to make macro for skill gain though it would be;
Dance

Never put text or emotes in your repeating macro and stay the hell out of the enterance way. Pick a spot to the side but close enough to the other group members that they will add you to the group when they need an extra body to fill up the group.

I don't know what you use, but I and a lot of people do NOT use macros for entertaining. How can use dance exotic3 on a macro without it looking horrible and putting a flourish in the middle of the turn? Bah. No wonder so many people call entertaining "boring" -- if you just let a macro do it for you of COURSE it's boring. The only thing I use a macro for is buffing, and I buffed for months without one and sometimes I still go without if I don't want to change dances to one of the ones I've made a macro routine for.
Will this person here find their AFK macro somewhere else? Yes. I'm sure plenty of people have PMed the info by now. But if we freely share the info in public here with no complaints people will think we like it and support it.
Don't get me wrong -- I will and have helped people who just ask for "a macro" or "how to buff." But someone declaring up front that they are using it to AFK will get no support and deserve no support. I've lost count of how many non-entertainers have told me my posts on the local galaxy forum/info in my bio has shown them how AFK hurts entertaining, when they never took the time to think about it before. If you don't let people know there's a problem they won't figure it out on their own. I'm sure there are plenty of issues that I don't see about other professions, simply because I don't ask and they don't tell. So if we as a community support people who declare their intent to AFK, it gives the impression that we as a community support AFKing. If that's what you believe then go ahead and post that. But it's not what most of us believe, and it's not what most of us are going to support.
