Round-eye, skim through the rest of Sirii's posts, and you'll notice that she is an ardent opponent to unattended play. The entire post was a sarcastic reply to commoncomplaints (such as yours) about players camping great spawns while afk. In reality, Sirii disagrees with the concept as well.

Edit: Just saw your new edit upon completion of my post

Well if this is indeed the case she should have presented this in a different manner. I have seen posts that were like this from people who actually supportedAFK playing. In light of this, someone such as myself would have no problem seeing this post as a serious and not sarcastic one.

If you have ever spent ANY quality time on the dancer forums you would know this was the most well written peice of sarcasm you have ever read. NOBODY hates afk-ing ANYTHING more than the ladies on this forum!

You're right. I think I check out this forum once or twice a month for any major developments in this profession so I suppose I have missed some of the ardent supporters of the anti-AFK crowd here. Keep in mind though that the entire SWG forum is extremely large so posting a message like this is bound to have the reverse effect with some who are not familiar with the author.

Unfortunately so many on my server have absolutely no problems with AFK loot campers. I'm so tired of hearing "it's my $15 so I can play however I choose".

Especially when it's such a specious argument anyway:

"Whaddya mean I can't play AFK? I pay my $15 just like everyone else."

"Whaddya mean I can't run people off the road? I make my car payment just like everyone else."

Kinda ironic isn't it, when seeing "hot alien babes" and Zapp candidates in game

It may be dead, but it's moving. Think Zombies, Night of the Living Dead, etc

It's a well written sarcasm piece don't get me wrong, but do we really have to keep pulling this topic back up to the surface?

Yes. Definitely. Every chance we get until this is resolved. Never stop, never give in.

The devs understand the AFK problem and have already mentioned that change is coming. Looking at all of the other major and minor changes that have begun to filter into the game I am going to cross my fingers and hope for the best while playing my game the way I get enjoyment from it.

While I agree with you that you just should not let the AFK issue get in the way ofenjoying the game (yeah, in the end that's all it is), most oftheveterans around hereare just too cynical (or too realistic?) to just sit back and hope that this time the Devs mean it, this time they will make everything alright without any further intervention from us. Sorry, we all heard that before, and I guess by now the unspoken motto of the entertainer community when it comes to changes in our profession is "I'll believe in it when I see it"

been a dancer since day 1 - still love this game - still have hope for the future - still the token sunshine-spreader most of the times I post.

and by the way, Else is a veteran as well. Don't let her posting account start date fool you... she's been here, and dancing, since Beta3.

I certainly didn't mean to talk down to anyone and make their ingame experience somehow less valid than anyone else's, and I'm sorry if it came across that way. There was no disrespect intended. I also understand where Else is coming from - believe me, I'm just as tired of this whole mess that is AFK macroing as anyone else.

At the same time though, I think it's important not to give way. The Developers have shown us repeatedly that we are far down on their list of priorities, and that given the choice, they'd rather do something - anything - else than address our issues. With them it's always about taking thepath of least resistance. And unless we continue to remind them that we do have issues, and that we're paying customers just like the average Master Rifleman/Master Doc, they will continue delaying work on our professions for things that are more important to them.

I'm really quite happy that AFK zombies are now starting to make an impact on combat players as well. That way it gets harder for SOE to ignore it, and hopefully this will be fixed sooner rather than later

Very nicely written. You're preaching to the choir here, though.

Maybe a copy of this post should go into one of those forums where most of the AFK-Loot complaints are being aired?

And a new sig suggestion for you...
