Ha ha ha! Excellent post!
Just crawled here through the bushes all the way from the Ranger forum to read this (yes, I stopped off and ate bark on the way!)
I have a Master Dancer on Euro-Farstar so I know where you are coming from here. I'm only 1 person but I always make sure I use and tip ATK dancers (send them a tell to say, Hi are you there? etc) and I've never yet found a time when there wasn't one at least in Corolag despite playing all round the clock.
As you say, now it is effecting more proffesions we can hope the Devs will get it sorted sooner rather than later. I've been a cynic of SOE for about 8 months (since I started in fact!) but things are starting to change. Let's have faith a little longer.... after that, unleash the Rancor!

Try brandy and ahrisa or *shudder* no buffs! You might be surprised to find that the master combat professions, if understood and used correctly, don't need buffs for a large amount of content. One of my good friends and guildies constantly hunts some of the most dangerous planets with his wookie comp and brandy. As a master rifleman and master ranger he rarely runs into trouble he can't handle and when he does he is smart enough to run away or call for help. If you get it out of your head that you should be able to take everything on by yourself you won't be as discouraged when the combat revamp hits.

I finally had a chance to read this. This is a GREAT post. I love it.
Those players that don't support afk looters but do support afk buffbots mostly won't get it. But, I do hope there are some intelligent people out there who end up changing their minds about the bots by actually being able to understand analogies.

Im glad that someone else was able to write what I was wanting to and do an even better job than I could have. Now if I could only make a macro that keeps bumping this post to the top so I can go make a sandwhich would be great

Exactly. Now I won't presume to comment on PvP, I understand the situation may be different there, but as far as PvE is concerned, you said it yourself (maybe without realizing?
) - you only "seem" to need those mind buffs, but you really don't 95% of the time. I'll admit that I had one or two occasions when that dancer buff saved my hide after I got jumped by Nightsisters on Dathomir, but I do the great majority of my hunting without mind buffs, only with brandy and ahrisa. And I hardly ever have problems (used to be TKM, Master Pikeman now. Not other combat skills, as the rest of my skill points are tied up with Master Musician/Master Entertainer).
I have killed or helped kill most of the things ingame in my time, with the exceptions of any Krayt larger than juvenile and NS Elders. And with those two, I just didn't get around to it yet
But SBD's, Nova Troopers, Peko Peko Albatross, Tusken Executioner, Enraged Kimogila, Acklay, you name it
I'm not saying I could solo everything in that list, but then for me top-end hunting is mostly a way to relax with some buddies, or with my guild, so I was grouped for most of the tougher mobs. And when I'm out alone, well then I just think twice about what I'm prepared to take on, and just leave some things alone. But then that's the way it should be IMO, this game is too easy as it is

My main character is a master dancer/musician/entertainer, and i now have an alt with which i am doing bounty hunter/carbineer. In regards to minds buffs my motto is "I go live, or i go without."
If i'm to the point i am going to hunt the toughest jedi out there and i know i'd win with a mind buff but there were no live entertainers to provide that, i would go without a mind buff, i would not use a buffbot.
Basically its the old saying "Walk a mile in another man's shoes..."
I know what its like. Entertainers get no respect....thats probably also why i have a list of imps and rebs i'll try to get killed if i see them overt in the cantina. (They're the ones that support buffbots and are rude.)

On teh GCW forum there was a guy that told me that there are and I paraphrase, "No ATK entertainers on Bloodfin."
LOL glad to see he was mistaken.
