Well seeming with a level system for combat it is now impossible to mix being good at combat with being a crafter or an entertainer I vote for option 3.

Or they could just let everyone have two toons per server, would be easier for them to do then split the skill point pools too.

To be honest, I don't like either one of these.

I think one of the issues that made SWG is also unique is the ability to have seperate xp pools...

So you can't use "CRAFTING xp (non combat)" to become an Entertainer "ENTERTAINER xp" (also non-combat).

And that even CRAFTING is divided into subsections (artisan, de, chef and so on) makes it even more challenging. Same for COMBAT.

However I feel something is wrong with the 3 entertainer professions (not ID).

* Entertainer uses Entertainer XP and or Entertainer Healing XP

* Musicain uses Musician XP and Entertainer Healing XP. First one seems right, but the second?

* Dancer uses Dancer XP and Dancer Healing XP. Same comment.

What do we get for musician?

Tree 1: Techniques: inspiration buff + making instruments

Tree 2: Wound healing

Tree 3: Knowledge (songs + insturments)

Tree 4: Healing (bf)

What do we get for dancer?

Tree 1: Techniques: inspiration buff (no difference from musicain)

Tree 2: Wound healing (same comment)

Tree 3: Knowledge: Dances

Tree 4: Healing (bf)

I see too many similarities here...

Instead of generalizing all the XP why not have the dancer/musician become 1 profession: Carbaretier (or something):

Tree 1: Techniques: inspiration buff + instruments

Tree 2: Healing (bf +wound)

Tree 3: Dancing Knowledge: Dances

Tree 4: Musician Knowledge: Songs + instruments

Master: combined both master boxes...

And then use the Entertainer XP/Entertainer Healing XP to fill them

The 2 professions have come too much together in their abilities and options, it has become a ridicilous sp drain.

I don't see why SoE feels the need to force people into one or the other... with 250 Points thereare enough points to have a combat profession, and a Non combat profession, yet still SoE gives bonuses to people who go for all or nothing.. be it More health for having 2 combat professions, ot Faster Inspertaions for Triple Master Entertainers...seens wrong to me

Edit: I just Read this...

I think they still need to keep things as diverse as possible whilst remaining fair to both combat and none combat classes.

I'd like to see a system where there are two sets of skill points (so option 3 is my vote) but with a twist.

You have to specialise.

You can either specialise in combat or none combat. This affects how many points you are given per pool.

You have 2 pools, the original 250 for whichever side you specialise in and another pool of say 125 points to keep things neat n tidy.

This would mean that if you choose to specialise in combat you still get some points, albeit less, to do a social or crafting profession just to keep things fresh.

If you specialised in none combat then you could still be a crafter-merchant etc but still have enough skill points to grant you at least a fighting chance whist exploring or maintaining harvestors.

And I really like this Idea, infact just before I read her post I was going to edit my post and add almost the EXACT same thing to my reply

Among those options, I would pick this one:

4. Three skill point pools; one for entertainer professions, one for crafting professions and a third for combat professions.

But I would really prefer if entertainer skills were like Politician and Pilot skills. That is, they should only cost XP.

After my initial experience with the CU on live last night, I want option 3 (or even 4) more than ever now. Non-combatants are now strictly limited to houses and cities where they will not risk being killed. I don't know what is going to happen when I have to harvest. I do not want to have to drop something just so I can defend myself, because the profession that will get the axe is dancer. If things weren't so completely out of whack right now, it might not be an issue... but my husband's crafter character, who is a weaponsmith/artisan/merchant, died three times last night to low-level things. All one-shot kills too, I believe. This is just a LITTLE over the top. I can no longer go exploring, because I get shot off my bike. This is by FAR my biggest concern right now, and it seriously needs to be addressed.

1. Non-combat templates should be a viable option.

I couldn't agree more with the previous poster. Non-combat templates shouldbe a viable option.

However, the combat upgrade isn't exactly supportive of entertainers. Making money off buffs is close to non-existant at this point and I don't see a point of being a Master Dancer other than for just looking good (which is also fine by me). I picked this profession because I love socializing and spending time with other people, not because I am trying to get rich.

I'm sure adjustments will be made and things will improve over time.. but right now it's not agood time to be a full-time entertainer.

3 or 4

As a master tailor, master merchant and dancer 0040,I would really be heart broken if I had to give up any dancing skills! I love dancing at parties and weddings and it fits nicely with my tailor/merchant professions... so please do not make me choose between crafting or dancing! That would be unfair!

After yesterday I want # 3 more then ever.

I don't want to /respec and wouldn't even if we did have the choice. I want to be a dancer and I want to be musician, it's what I used to always have fun being. But I sure as hell don't want to spend my play-time being killed or hiding in the shadows shackledto acantina table.

Yay, how totally cool, I guess I can call myself absolutely-totally casual player since it took me 18 months to get to level 1!

Ok, maybe I'm totally wierd, but my most favorite place to dance has always been the broken staircase in the Ruined Jedi Temple. I would dance Popular2 on it and chit-chat with people passing by to get their POI.

My most favorite place to set up my Nala was the rock in the middle of the waterfalls on Nabo.

Maybe I'm claustrophobic but if I would have to guess I would say maybe only about 40% of my dancing used to be done indoors.
