Strangely enough without buffbots people can still get entertainer buffs, then again even if they couldn't you'd all be in the same boat so wheres the problem?

This is actually a very good argument worth pondering. My first thought is that, you would be in the same boat unless you happened to be in a guild with lots of people that have alt toons. My guild has about 50 members, most of us have alternate toons. I'm the only one with a dancer/musician though.

Good argument though.

It didn't work - I think it just stops you from getting PMs maybe. It would be nice to just be able to completely delete a thread off of your screen.

If you click on the name of the person you want to ignore It is right above "view all posts by this user."

Yes, naish, we've heard your voice in all your posts stating your opinion how you don't want bots to go because you don't want to have to change your combat style. Have you heard ours?

Neither bot owners nor bot customers are PLAYERS who actually PLAY the profession that was designed for people to PLAY.

The general combat player's usage of BOTS is a DOMINO effect- The more in-game players use them, the more new players will use them, the less likely PLAYERS in the entertainer professions will be used, means the less likely there will be actual PLAYERS in the entertainer profession, which means its more likely you'll need your BOTS to buff.

Don't want to be without an entertainer buff of BF healing? JOIN A GUILD THAT HAS A PLAYER ENTERTAINER.

Don't want to be without an entertainer buff or BF healing? GET TO KNOW YOUR LIVE ENTERTAINERS SO YOU KNOW WHEN THEY'RE ON AND WHERE THEY'RE AT.

You have options. You've ALWAYS had other options. These options WORK and fit into the support of an MMRPOG. Computerized playing of a profession DOESN'T FIT INTO AN MMRPOG.

Whats that? don't want to have to deal with real players? what are you doing in an massive MULTI-PLAYER online ROLE-PLAYING GAME?

Your use and existance of the computerization of entire professions DOES MORE HARM TO ANMMORPGTHEN GOOD.

Instead of finding options that support an MMORPG, someone found a way to negate 3 whole professions.

So please, tell me again why it does good to kill the playability of 3 professions by your computerization of them?

Tell me again that 'there aren't enough entertainers around to fulfill the need', and again I'll ask, why aren't you in a guild, how many live entertainers do you know, how many do you actually have on your friends list so you know if they're online or not? Screenshots would be nice.

Tell me again that 'there aren't enough entertainers around to fulfill the need', and I'll say that that is ENTIRELY unprovable UNTIL AFK PLAY IS REMOVED. You say the demand was to great, we say it wasn't and people were just lazy, and the truth of the matter is WE'LL NEVER KNOW IF THE SUPPLY IS GREAT ENOUGH TO MEET THE DEMAND WHILE THE ABILITY TO AFK THE ENTERTAINER PROFESSION EXISTS.

A large number of people who PLAY this profession say that BOTS NEED TO GO. A large number of people who DON'T PLAY this profession say they need to stay. YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS TO FIND A SUPPLY OF ENTERTAINERS.

Please, tell me you have something more then just 'they need to stay because I want them too?'

If you insist on maintaining this line of defense, then I suggest your next target should be the Doctor forum, where you'll post calls that the DOC profession should be AFK-able so that you can have your buffs whenever and whereever you need them. I'll be looking forward to your post there.

Look,

I respect your opinion. But I like providing buffs to players. I like using a bot to do it. I like tweaking my macros to make them more informative and easier to use. I feel just as strongly about the way I like to play as you do about yours.

So, I'm going to keep makeing my voice heard. I may own a bot, but I'm not always AFK with it. Like it or not, i'm an entertainer too.

Complete and total automation of any profession from server up to server down, while still providing the same benefit of someone with the same profession playing it live, is wrong and horrible game mechanics.

You see this as a "good" thing because all you see is the benefit - you make zero effort and get everything. Again, that is wrong and horrible game mechanics.

Whether people need entertainer services while entertainers might not be around, and how to solve that, is a good discussion to have. Saying that bots do more good than harm is a poor discussion.

Justifying the automation of 3 professions while never interacting with the character, and providing the same benefit to the game's community as someone who plays the profession, is a serious problem.

Bots do harm to the game community. There should be other ways to get *some* entertainer healing benefits that are exclusive to entertainers right now (battle fatigue) when you can't find an entertainer. It should be less than a live entertainer can provide, but still adequate to someone in a pinch.

Buffbots are an insult to our professions. You make a mockery of us. You mock the game's mechanics and say "look, what a valuable service I provide and I don't have to do a thing, I robotically perform what live folks do so it's 'reliable'" when really you're stripping live entertainers from their function in the game.

I repeat, again, no profession in this game should be able to be automated and not attended to all day - and still provide the benefits to the game community as a person who really PLAYS that profession. It's just plain wrong. Everyone should be able to AFK for a bit if needed. But server up to server down, and give the same stuff as a live person playing the game - wrong.

No. You're not. You're an enterprising, probably intelligent person who has programmed a robot to emulate the basic functions of anentertainer.

Fortunately for us all, you're not a game developer. Thankfully, the development team is wise enough to see the big picture, rather than the narrow view from the combat perspective.

Bourne Supremacy is so so...

I, Robot is ok if you like sci-fi action and have no knowledge of the book upon which the title is based.

Maria Full of Grace is fantastic if it's playing in your area.

Guess it all depends on what kind of movie you like. :-)
