Thread: Dancer Quest Bugs and Issues for the Devs and QA

*Gets on her knees and begs* PLEASE reduce the timer, i personaly like the quest, but waiting 24 hours to try again with no practice whatsoever is just insanity, the biggest issue is audience members not spawning with appropriate requests, 2 times now they have said absolutely nothing about a dislike or like, even with 2 people scowering checking every row.
Another issue is where the npcs spawn, they have always spawned behind or inside the couches, barely making them targetable taking away precious time with misclicks, this is true in the Mos Eisly theater i'm unsure about any other location. But wouldnt be much of an issue with a much much smaller retry timer.

Having now finally completed the quest, I can honestly say that I too, enjoyed it for the most part. But, that timer has to go. It's crazy annoying, and is really the only one beef I've had with the actual quest. The base dance of theatrical, of course, needs to be fixed. But, if we're just talking about the quest itself...GET RID of that 24 hour timer. Seriously. It takes a lot of fun out of this quest. I honestly think that when most people have gotten pissed off about the quest, it is somehow related to that timer. Even the issue of the NPC's not giving you appropriate information would not seem even half as bad if we didn't have to wait another 24 hours to try again.

NPCs ask for level one base dances. This doesn't make any sense if you are skilled enough to do a higher level since they are the same dance, you just know how to perform it better at the second level.3. The Dance reward pays in XP like a lower level Dance instead of a Dance Knowledge 4 Dance4. The watch requirements are too high5. The XP turn in is too high6. It isn't really a Novice Dancer req quest, it's a Dance Knowledge 4 req quest since you are asked to do dances that are gained in the Dance Knowledge line and the XP turn in can only be stored up once you have hit Dance Knowledge 47. The roll for the NPC audience "hints" is not fair or fun with the 24 hour timer.8. Our reward dance has "visual issues"... this is not ok. Visual is what we are. Visual is our real content. We can't have "visual issues." They are gamebreaking for our version of the game. The "broken" Dance reward is prolly going to take a long time to get attention on (like maybe prof revamp time), but I think these others are all so quest restricted that they can be considered bugs or tweaks and hopefully handled sooner. Are these different than what you guys think they need to be? Did I miss anything? Replay? Payout in credits? Are those two issues as well?
I am still boycotting the dance quest until they address the issues of the dance being broken and the XP requirement and until they proudly announce that this new quest EXISTS. Otherwise replayability is interesting to consider, but I don't know if this quest is something worth doing over again or what the reward should be (money or XP maybe). The suggestion of a badge is also an interesting idea, but not one that I suspect will go over very well because it seems too profession-specific to me. Maybe you need to be Joe Commando to be able to complete a corvette mission, but I just have to be grouped with him and leave at the right time to get a corvette badge. It isn't really fair to badge hunting Joe Commando if he can't get this one badge without having to level up in dance/music unless the devs establish a precedence of profession-specific badges.
7. The roll for the NPC audience "hints" is not fair or fun with the 24 hour timer.
I'm a bit torn on this issue. The wait time does give some incentive to get it right and is an incentive to bring friends to help with the quest. I got hit with it during my first two Musician auditions and because of it I waited to make sure I brought friends for the rest.
What I think they really need to do is to remove all of the "dumb luck" factors from the quest. It should be standard and everyone should have the same chance of passing. Dumb luck and this timer are just not a good combo and IMO no one should be "penalized" because they didn't get the right hints. Sorry, but I think luck is a silly way to make a quest more "challenging". Everyone should have the chance to gain all the information they need to pass and if you do what you're supposed to do you should pass.
Not sure what I think about getting a total of 60 watchers/listeners. I'm mixed on this one as well. I know it got Elwyn, myself, and others out of the cantina to get listeners. The end result for the music portion is alot of people never realized how good the songs can sound until we got them to listen to our small band. Alot of people thought it sounded cool which hopefully gives them a little more incentive to come to the cantina. Dance is a bit different in this regard.
I like the Flo'sfor the dance, however, I'm disappointed it's another "drift dance" and was hoping for something that could be more of a partner dance. Matter of taste I guess.

As a novice dancer... I WANT the option to do this quest! Novice dancers who are limited in the amount of skill points they have, have no way to gain new dances.
