Thread: Dancer Quest Bugs and Issues for the Devs and QA

Ok, here's what I talked to our quest Dev aboutbefore these launched:

1. Formal and Lyrical are "high drift" dances and make it hard to stay on the stage

2. NPCs ask for level one base dances. This doesn't make any sense if you are skilled enough to do a higher level since they are the same dance, you just know how to perform it better at the second level.

3. The Dance reward pays in XP like a lower level Dance instead of a Dance Knowledge 4 Dance

4. The watch requirements are too high

5. The XP turn in is too high

6. It isn't really a Novice Dancer req quest, it's a Dance Knowledge 4 req quest since you are asked to do dances that are gained in the Dance Knowledge line and the XP turn in can only be stored up once you have hit Dance Knowledge 4

7. The roll for the NPC audience "hints" is not fair or fun with the 24 hour timer.

8. Our reward dance has "visual issues"... this is not ok. Visual is what we are. Visual is our real content. We can't have "visual issues." They are gamebreaking for our version of the game.

The "broken" Dance reward is prolly going to take a long time to get attention on (like maybe prof revamp time), but I think these others are all so quest restricted that they can be considered bugs or tweaks and hopefully handled sooner.

Are these different than what you guys think they need to be? Did I miss anything? Replay? Payout in credits? Are those two issues as well?

Edit: Was too hard to read! O.o

Yes, we should definitely get a badge.

Also we should be able to cancel/dump the quest once started.
If this ability is there then please void my post, but I was not able to find it.

Pay out is a joke.

Following on from issue 1... the area defined as 'stage' for the purposes of the quest should be indicated visually. Perhaps with corner floor lights or if that is too time consuming just display a border like the yellow brick line. That way at least we know where we SHOULD be

The lag created by the audience means that the show timers really should be increased. I only just managed to talk with everyone on the 3rd show using /conv technique and my connection is pretty good. It is purely unfair to anyone with less to then fail and have to wait 24 hours. I would suggest it be 2 hours max.

If they meant for the 24 wait to be a gate of sorts Why not just make it 24 hours between Passing one step to the next. And make so if you fail you can just try again... Not a suggestion I really like but it would make more sense.

In reference to bullet 2, while the audience may not ask to see anything but the base level dance, they will sure let you know if they don't want to see a specific advanced level dance. I failed my 3rd attempt at the 3rd performance today and got that they wanted to see Popular and Flo 1, but they didn't like Basic 2. So...Some of them do know what they are talking about. hehe

It is made for people not to try over and over and monopolize Theaters. Think 3 entertainers to make it at same time, which audience whose, who will know?

Has anyone at all had to wait because someone else was doing the quest at the same time as them ??

Yes I went to do my 2nd musician concert and two dancers were there. The manager will tell you that the stage is busy and to come back as long as someone else is actively working on a stage performance. So one dancer got her concert while the second dancer and myself were told to come back.

I definitely think you should be able to cancel the quest if you've started and haven't finished.

A badge would be nice, and I think appropriate.

I personally don't think the watch requirements are too high (presuming this refers to the "get x people to watch you" promotion missions). Sure, it makes it *slightly* hard to do the quests all in one night, but starport dancing really gets it done quick, begging works pretty well, and it's been taking me about 1 play session per 15 listeners in the musician quest just doing my standard playing in the cantina and not begging at all.

Other than that, good coverage of the issues .

Well, yes, but...the wait isn't that long...I would like to think we'd all be willing to wait in line for something like this. I'd much prefer (tops) a 2 hour wait due to the THRONGS of entertainers waiting in line...lol, than the 24 hour gate. I do like this quest, I really do. But, I hate that 24 hours with a PASSION. Drives me nuts. And, besides there are other theaters you can try out if the one you're at is crazy busy...which I tend to doubt that it would be.

I'm sorry I was answering the post prior to mine about having to simply wait for someone to finish their performance. I agree this is a non-issue I simply was responding to a question.

Having failed the first audition twice I know how painful it is to wait 24 hours for something you are very excited to get. Myself and Ytoavee were working to get the song so we could perform it together. We succeeded in making it before the weekend was out and Sunday afternoon with a team of 4 of us running around working on the quest together was a blast. But the wait is too long for a quest of this nature. Heck I can fail a jabba mission and still get credit for it or assigned right back to it.

Also it's very annoying the dances that the judges ask for during the initial audition. Specifically, it's totally random right now, but it needs to be restricted to a table of actual flourishes and dances.

For example, they asked me to perform Exotic. (Ugh, the drunken dance.) Then they asked me to do flourish 4, and flourish 6.

FLOURISH 6.

We all know there is no flourish 6 in any of the Exotic dances.
