Thread: How to kill a Great Profession
I don't think she understood your amendment... get back to happy! Work together!
Go team go! The rift isn't helping us, the Devs are willing to ignore it. We've got to push for things that will reward the game for all.
If we want to be able to heal, we have to heal well.... if we want to be Social with no effort in healing, then we have to accept that people will work around us.
We need to stay on topic! Better class, better Dancers, happy and healed patrons, safely immersed RP... stick to the plan!

I would LOVE 30 second buffs. However, this 30 second gibberish is not the way to do it. We need to be able to play with the tools as they were meant to be used, rather than manipulate the tools to give an effect other than was intended. THAT'S what we should both be yearning for.
Did I or did I not write that in my post above?

I'm going to disagree here. The purpose of the profession is to be fun for the person playing. After all, it is a game, and people play games to have fun. Being that it is a MMORPG there needs to be a balance between "my fun" and "your fun". So in that sense, yes the fun of everyone else needs to be considered. But it does not carry more weight than the fun of the people who play the class. What does it matter how long the buffs take if you can't find a buff because nobody plays the profession because they aren't having fun?
The key is balance.

VSE: Sorry, but getting rid of the 30sec buff didn't ruin anything. The people that were giving them out brought the hate down on themselves.
As soon people started to give them out, of course the people receiving them would be happy! Wow, a 2hr mind buff in 30 seconds?!? Give me some of that!
But all people had to do was just look at it to see that it was an exploit. I realized that it was, and knew that it was only a matter of time before SOE fixed the bug. Because of this, I never even mentioned to my regular customers, customers that don't mind getting a 10min buff from me, that it existed.
Now that it's fixed, what's the result? The dancers giving out the 30sec buff have a WHOLE bunch of angry customers. I've maintained my entire customer base.
Now, should there be a LEGITIMATE 30 second buff? I don't know, that's up to SOE to decide. I don't think our buffs should be sped up that much. Maybe a 10min buff could be reduced to 7mins. I still want the time to talk with my customers.
This is definitely one issue that will never be agreed upon.
