*cough* Translation for Sirii:

Vse said "What if we could give a really fast speed buff in Tents and/or PC Cantinas only? A real one with proper dance animations that the Devs implemented."

poet i answered that already but i guess your one stubborn dancer that cant open herself to the reality of CBT professions ... anyways im not gonna go at it on this one its ridiculous ... the way your talking you should create your own profession nun !!! yes they pray all day and clean the church too yes really boring and doesnt give anything back to 70% of the SWG population. and we are not talking about a glitch back we are talking about a way to do it quick and legit ... i do agree the spamin aint great cant chat in spacial chat... but anyways if you wanna think about your lil self keep it for you cauz honestly no one want to ear that ... especially when you said the same thing already ...

I don't think she understood your amendment... get back to happy! Work together!

Go team go! The rift isn't helping us, the Devs are willing to ignore it. We've got to push for things that will reward the game for all.

If we want to be able to heal, we have to heal well.... if we want to be Social with no effort in healing, then we have to accept that people will work around us.

We need to stay on topic! Better class, better Dancers, happy and healed patrons, safely immersed RP... stick to the plan!

READ MY POST VSE!!!! Before jumping to conclusions. I'll put it in BOLD!

I would LOVE 30 second buffs. However, this 30 second gibberish is not the way to do it. We need to be able to play with the tools as they were meant to be used, rather than manipulate the tools to give an effect other than was intended. THAT'S what we should both be yearning for.

Did I or did I not write that in my post above?

I know there are some roleplayers out there, but there are also non-rleplayers out there (with me somewher ein the middle of that).
The main concern should be speed of service, not your very own enjoyment of the profession.

I'm going to disagree here. The purpose of the profession is to be fun for the person playing. After all, it is a game, and people play games to have fun. Being that it is a MMORPG there needs to be a balance between "my fun" and "your fun". So in that sense, yes the fun of everyone else needs to be considered. But it does not carry more weight than the fun of the people who play the class. What does it matter how long the buffs take if you can't find a buff because nobody plays the profession because they aren't having fun?

The key is balance.

We were a great profession before buffs. We were a great profession before 30 second exploits. We are a great profession.

Aside from the whole 'social' thing... Here's what I've run into....

10 guys walk up

"Can you buff us?"

Me: Sure.

Them: Alright, here, join our group.

Me: Do you have a doctor that can keep me healed or no?

Them: ::yes or no determines if I use 5 or 10 minute timer and macro::

Me: ::join- insert my "Watch yaddayadda" shpiel here. wait about a minute then start the timter.::

One guy: Whoops... I wasn't watching.

Me: ::start a special /pause 600 or 300; /tell self timer just for him::

While this is going on, they are chatting "what are we hunting? Oh do you have a pistol I can use, mine sucks. Hey, did you know that the corvette guy is in Belavista? Oh! I have to get something from the bank.... Okay, I have to go AFK and deal with the phone...."

In the months that I've been a dancer (since first week of release) I have NEVER encountered a group that doesn't have prep to do or things to busy themselves with while being buffed. I have never had a group whine at me.

As far as I can see, there are always little issues. And it's really not that big an issue. The world will not end in the 2 minutes that the others have to watch. And it's not like they can't catch up to their friends.

I understand that a lot of people are irritated, but that's the problem. When people get something easily (say... oh, free healthcare) they get REALLY ticked off when they are suddenly required to... oh.. pay for healthcare. Or wait for a buff.

Patience is a virtue. the 2 minutes won't ruin the world.

What is there not to get? I as a live dancer want 30 second buffs. I said it a THIRD time now. But I'm not going spastic to do it. I just wish, like you, that there would be a way to get the buff times down without manipulating the code in the way it had been manipulated. Not to have the developers come down from Mount Olympusand say, "doing /stardance, /flo 1-5, /stopdance is okay," because that's just sanctioning something that was broken. Rather I'd want, as Panthu put (and not you, mind you), a faster buff time using the tools as they were meant to be used. Now what's so difficult to understand about that, dear?

A 3 minute buff without having to spam flourishes would be nice, but not crucial.

poet i dunno what your talking about but ... thats what im talking about a new way ********legit******** means it aint a glitch anyways i dunno why your trying to make it hard here ... alll im trying to think about is a new way to get a quick buff not the old one a new one ... just like i said , bantha said and now you said ... i dont understand why you cant agree with me but do with bantha .... all im trying to think about is a way to do this so we can have everybody happy ... but who am i to try to improve the profession and say my opinion when 10 dancers jump on me cauz they cant open themselves out ... seriously if i was the devs id remove the mind buffing powers to the dancers and musician ... they obviously dont want it ... if you do want it then why dont you ry to find a solution that would make everyone happy not you only ...

VSE: Sorry, but getting rid of the 30sec buff didn't ruin anything. The people that were giving them out brought the hate down on themselves.

As soon people started to give them out, of course the people receiving them would be happy! Wow, a 2hr mind buff in 30 seconds?!? Give me some of that!

But all people had to do was just look at it to see that it was an exploit. I realized that it was, and knew that it was only a matter of time before SOE fixed the bug. Because of this, I never even mentioned to my regular customers, customers that don't mind getting a 10min buff from me, that it existed.

Now that it's fixed, what's the result? The dancers giving out the 30sec buff have a WHOLE bunch of angry customers. I've maintained my entire customer base.

Now, should there be a LEGITIMATE 30 second buff? I don't know, that's up to SOE to decide. I don't think our buffs should be sped up that much. Maybe a 10min buff could be reduced to 7mins. I still want the time to talk with my customers.

This is definitely one issue that will never be agreed upon.
