Thread: How rude can they be?

Skill point costs arent that much. And my wife isnt out there to help other dancers make free money. She is out there to help developing characters develop without ripping them off. But again like I said she isnt going to take away from some other dancers profit if they are there and she is AFK. She only wants to be able to use the macro when there are no other dancers around and people need buffs.
I realize she is not there to purposely hurt other dancers. But, up and running afk dancers do hurt the real dancers because people get conditioned to going to the bot 24/7 because she is always there and reliable. The servers already have so many bots, and the real entertainers have been put out of business. The truth is, at this point, I could care less if you set up a bot because mind buffs are going away, and one more bot isn't going to be any worse than all the other bots. Our professions have already been ruined.
However, I'm still not going to help you ruin it any further by providing a bot that directly hurts live entertainers.
Second, I hope you didn't post this in the Dancer Board. Oh no wait, they're nice there and will simply talk about something else and pretend like you don't exist.
Third, I've been a musician. and I have NEVER once gone AFK while entertaining. EVER. Sure, maybe to go to the bathroom, or get a drink. Any longer than that and I stopped and sat down.
What's the difference? Oh well, maybe it's because when people use a bot, they don't have to treat that bot with any dignity or respect, and it carries over to how they treat LIVE entertainers. When someone walks in, and invites an Ent to their group without a word, and then when they're already invited to a group, says something like, U! GIMME BUFF!! it cheapens the game. It has NOTHING to do with profit. If you seriously think someone took Entertainer to make money... I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Entertainers are a social profession. You don't need a mind buff that badly if you can't respect them. Hell, I RARELY get a mind buff. I don't even bother with one in places like the DWB, or Dathomir.
Asking this in the smuggler forums is a bad idea. We have our own issues with how players treat us, and more than one of us is or has been an entertainer at some point.

How can she tell when someone is there and when someone isn't even though she is AFK?

Because we have 2 computers and unless im at them they are both turned off...and I keep an eye on her dancer and buff people as they ask for them if she is not there. Currently she has a macro that tells people to message me if they want a buff so I can play my character. But that becomes difficult when she is the only dancer and there are 6 people asking for buffs.

You're not understanding the point. Have you read and considered Dathora's original response regarding smugglers? If there were smuggler bots that sold faction or sliced for free that were on 24/7, then the people who played smugglers live would never get any business. People would be conditioned to know where the smuggler bot was. They wouldn't even ever bother looking for a live smuggler anymore. You would never be asked to slice or sell faction ever again. You would have absolutely no way of making money in the game as a smuggler. You would not be able to compete because you wouldn't have 24/7 availability. You would be useless because people would automatically go to the smuggler bot whether you were on or off. They would never even look for you or try to find you because they know exactly where the bot is. You would no longer have a role in the game. Would you be ok with that?

Oh no wait, they're nice there and will simply talk about something else and pretend like you don't exist. He did post this in the Dancer board, and I was the first to respond to it with EXACTLY what I put above. The Dancer board does tend to come off as elitist to some people, that's why I responded the way I did, because I really don't like that and felt perhaps he might understand the issue if I was polite.Guess not.
He's starting to sound less like a guy with a "wife" who wants to AFK, and more like a guy who wants to set up a buff bot, but that's just the way he's appearing with his arguments here.

that point doesnt apply to Dancers though. Dancers dont have to spend any money to make thier buffs or buy supplies. You would never see a smuggler slicing for free. Second...people dont want to have to go to one planet for buffs and then to another planet for dancer buffs. Im not taking away from another dancers business unless he or she is in the same cantina in the same outpost or town as me. Or should I say her...its my wifes character. And again...if another dancer were to show up to make her money and business then I would gladly log off my wifes character. So no...the point makes no sense or relevance to me.
/sigh
Ok...let's say a smuggler bot bought whatever supplies he needed and only charged enough to make up the money that it took for him to buy those supplies and then every other slice and FP selling was given away for free 24/7 by the bot.
Think outside of the box here. We know it's not possible for a smuggler bot to do this. But, what we're asking you is, WHAT IF it was. WHAT IF your profession worked like the dancer profession did and you could no longer sell your goods or services because people always went to the bot?
What if people said to you, "I like the smuggler bots, because I no longer have to search around?" or "We need smuggler bots because we can't find a smuggler when we need them." Or, "I don't want to have to travel to another planet when I can just go to the smuggler bot."
Jeez. It does not matter if you personally think you are not doing anything to real dancers. The fact of the matter is, you ARE. And, please, I'm hoping that you can comprehend this very simple analogy. Because if you respond to this post with something stupid and assinine because you don't have the mental capacity to understand what I'm saying, then I'm going to stop being nice because you're irritating the hell out of me.
