I hope all the lazy little monsters follow it like it was the freakin Bible!! At this point, I think our only hope is that unattended play reaches maximum density to the point of implosion that creates a blackhole so vast that it sucks them all to a galaxy far, far away.

I agree with Eshi and Doasa - let the newbie macro-users go nuts trying to get these macros to work! Anyone who knows anything about macros is either already laughing their heads off about it or fuming. It's absurd that once again "someone" as SOE posted a 'guide' that is riddled with typos and ridiculous comments like "I'm so evil" without proofing it first. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if these gaming companies know how to relate to anyone over the age of 19. Blech . . . nah - not going there. Don't feel like ranting about the lack of professionalism from one of the largest companies in the world. . . .

Anyway - I was upset at first, but now I don't care. Pfft. I'll just keep playing the game the best way I can for as long as I have fun here.

Yeah, yeah, I know it doesn't SPECIFICALLY mention how to use macros AFK. But it just left a bad taste in my mouth. I mean, come on. Out of all the millions of topics they could choose to post a game guide about, why choose that one now? It's like further proof that they have absolutely no regard for our concerns at all.

And jeez, from Tiggs. Tiggs, who everyone in this forum was crowing about when she posted a few times here. Who supposedly supports ATK entertainers. I've always suspected that TH has no use for us, but I really had hope for Tiggs.

Well I'm afraid if its any indication of this companies profesionalism or dedication to their product, then not much has changed. It's not the first plagiarized guide that They have posted on the main site. It is however the most sad and embarasing guide that they could have posted on the main page of a major mmog. Reading that guide gave me an overall feeling that this is a company that knows very little about the product they are selling. Or for that matter cares very little about what they are selling.

As I posted in the thread (and in the Ent forum...), I really do not see a big deal about this... everyone who wants the macros already has them... the macros are technically legitimate currently, so there is no way they could edit those parts out of the guide the person submitted and post the rest of the guide... trust me, I hate buff bots as much as anyone... however, I am confident that when Tyrant says he's getting them removed, then he will be doing so... when, I don't know... also, on a side note, this macro guide will only prove to legitimize Eaca's new Combat Assist Bot if/when she gets ready to unveil it....

sorry....

I don't see in there where they are promoting the abuse of macros (i.e. AFKing), only the use.

The looping forage macro is enough to indicate the fact that the looping macro is perfectly acceptable at this point in time. Looping macros don't require the player to touch the keyboard to continue the use of the command strings. I would say that its primary use is in the creation of AFK macros.

But they didn't say it. So the onus is still on the USER for the abuse.

I want to believe things will improve.. I really do. I have one chance at hope left in me, holding out for the profession revamp era.. and after nearly a year and a half of holding on, I don't want to see something as small as this make even one person leave when we all need to be holding on to each other..

I am sure Tiggs had little control over which guide was accepted... she was just doing her job and posting the guide that the dev team as a whole accepted...

again, and I think this is key, it does not worsen our situation in any way I can see, and it further validates Eaca's efforts in making a afk combat macro, imho...

LeBob, the problem is that the dev team felt the need to feature a macro guide in the face of our begging them to save us from macro abuse.

Whether or not you personally feel that this is of no concern the entertainer community as a whole is not happy. How about you put aside your opinion for a while and take our concerns to the dev team?

Did I say anything to imply that I and/or the other Ent. Corrs are not relaying the community's concerns to the devs?

Do not think I don't understand the 'problem'... and once again, macros are still currently legitimate, so the devs have no valid reason not to post a guide for them...

I posted in one thread about this same thing somewhere around here that mentioned "double speak"... what would be double speak is if the devs (having said that afk macros are currently legitimate) removed the section in the guide referencing afk macros... that would be hypocritical.... the devs have said this will be fixed in the future... the present is not the future...

I'm not trying to harp on you guys for being upset... I'm just saying that I don't think it's a big deal... if I was not gathering the feedback about this, I would not be in this thread...

Eek! One starring of Ent Corrs? /tsk bandit /fix stars

Active Corrs have to stay calm... have to... in the outside forums. They also have access to info that isn't posted in the public forums. A lot has been said about the macro issue by Ent Corrs past and present. Trust us, being too calm about it has never been a problem.

Still, a Corr that stays "in trouble" with the powers at be isn't very much use to anyone.

Well, this kind of bummed me out initially. However, I think it may be more a case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing rather than an intetional slap in the face to us. Of course, it's sad that they did not even attempt to spell check it.

I was interested to note Karquile's take on the AFK entertainer situation and particular his term of affection for all the dancers and musicians on the servers.
