I am very disapointed with our dance. But the song is neat and it works fine. I see no reason musicians should have to wait longer for it.
I say put the reward out for musicians then for dancers just give us an IOU scroll and once a working dance is implemented convert the scroll into the actual reward scroll. So dancers can go ahead and finish the quest and have everything ready to learn it the moment it becomes available.

I have waited 15 freakin months for the song and dance. 15 months we have had broken dances. And instead of fixing it they try and toss us another broken one. If it did manage to get pushed on it's own. I fear the dance would be months later and would still get pushed through broken.
I'm willing to suffer longer for this stuff. But freakin crap give us macro info.

I posted in the musician thread about this already, but I don't think we dancers and musicians will ever agree on this.
And not in the "I want what I want, too bad for you" way, but in the "I want what you want, I love you" way.
And it makes me so happy to be part of a community where this sort of disagreement is possible. Truly, I can't think of one musician who wouldn't happily wait for the dance to be fixed. It looks like you dancers are just as happy to let it go ahead without the dance.

I say release the new song. Entertainers of any sort getting something other than "sometime after whatever project we decide to do next" would be a huge bonus for me. I've given up expecting a fix to my dances but I'd love to hear some great new music. Musicians deserve some love. Will it be an excuse for the devs to put off fixing the dancers? HAHAHAHAHA uhm that assumes that they intended to fix them to start with and assumes they need an excuse.

Thats not what my sources tell me...
and as for the original question. Yes They should release the song if it is good to go. No reason for everyone to suffer.

My initial reaction is definitely #2. My only fear, as others have pointed out, is that if they release one part of the quest, they'll just forget about the other part.
