Lol Drygo. I know how you feel. Seems like so many are just breezing through. I have failed 3 days straight with my Sunrruner char, failed 2 days with my kettemoor char. But once i did pass with my kett char on the third day....i was able to breeze through the second part too. Now gotta get my 30 ppl to watch me. I think my prob with my Sunrunner char is that all 3 times I talked to the audience...I got NO hints at all. So I was going in blind.

The second performance there were more audience members to talk to so I think it made it easier to know what they wanted. They told me they hated poplock, and liked flos 3 and 8. I also jsut stood and stage and used a macro i made for /conv. I was able to talk to all audience members and have time to spare. Dunno how this will work with the theater full for performance 3. At first I started rough but i kept doing onlythe flourishes they liked and kept switching between 2 different dances. Took a bit to figure out which dances they were going for but once I did I started getting Satisfieds and passed. Dunno if that helps anyone.

So far, I've failed the first show twice. First time, the only thing they tell me is dance basic. None of the other audience members said anything useful. Last night, they didn't tell me anything. Just how much they were hoping to enjoy the show. I logged off after that so I wouldn't say anything nasty to anyone.

A couple of people mentioned reading a "guide". Would someone please tell me where I can find this guide? I'm trying to pickup pieces of info by reading random threads here.

Well, I've now failed the last quest twice, and if I fail it again I'm probably going to say "screw this" and give up. It seriously pisses me off how this was implemented, but then again I should be used to half-assed attempts to placate us by now, it would seem. We don't shoot guns or swing swords, so we must be unimportant, right?

I'm sorry, I'm just a touch bitter.

I've failed a few times, but I'm not too upset because I wanted to work most of it out on my own... the delay is irksome though, yes.

My most recent failure:

I talked to them, found out they didn't like footloose but that they did like flourishes 5 and 7.

I went up and danced popular (didn't like), poplock (slightly unsatisfied), exotic (up to neutral), and then went to try basic and saw the theater manager give the "Failure" message she says (about waiting 24 hours) in spatial.

Being 2a.m. on a day that I worked 9-5, I was a bit sleepy so I went "ARGH I failed again" and went to leave and then got..

[FAILURE] You have failed because you left the stage during the performance!

And I went "Wuh?" and realized that I had simply been confused and the manager was talking to someone else who I hadn't seen come in and I would have suceeded had I stayed up there.

/sigh

back again at 2am tonight

I failed my second try on the first performance again last night on Sunrunner. The audience gave me no clues whatsoever on what they did or didn't want. So I just winged it and failed miserably.

But at least it's been fun the last couple of nights getting a big group together to cheer everyone on as they attempt their various stages of the quest.

Update. Well, I actually don't mind this quest too much, and find it enjoyable for the most part. What I hate is the 24 hour timer. I just hate not being able to practice and figure it out. I feel like it's way too restrictive and you feel like you have to start over from scratch every day because of no practice time. I just wish they'd get rid of it or make it more reasonable, like an hour so maybe.

Anyway, I wanted to try it again, and couldn't on Drygo. So, I logged in C'erulean, went through the audition, the 10 watchers, and then prepared myself for the first performance. I went around and talked to all the audience members before I started dancing. For the first time ever, I was actually given a dance to perform and a flourish to perform. The other times I've tried I didn't get this much info. But, having actually had these two pieces of info, I was able to complete the first performance sucessfully. I just did rhythmic (as requested) and spammed flourish 4 (as requested). So, basically, if you know the song and the flourish and spam it, you'll complete the quest.

I think beyond just the 24 hour timer nuisance, I don't think the "random" /conv from the audience always gives you the information you need. That might be nice if they did. So, C'erulean's farther than Drygo at this point. Hopefully Drygo will get lucky and get all the information he needs tomorrow morning.

Tried the first performance on Eclipse this afternoon, found out the audience liked Footloose and Flourish 5. So they got lots of Footloose Flourish 5, and I got a success.

I'm ready to give it another go on Sunrunner tonight.

ROFL I couldn't help but be amused by this line. Drygo sort of has the same thing going on that you do, Oqua... he gives off this aura of utter politeness and sweetness, and the whole time he's just hacking stupid people to pieces. I think it's why I love both of you so much.

And if anyone really thinks Drygo is sweetness and light, I have screenshots from a former game we played together... I'll just say that his rodent fetish manifested itself in my room, and leave it at that. But I got even with him... oh yes, I did, my precioussss... I have screenshots of THAT too.

I went thru a lot of fails and waiting too back when the TC timer wasn't set for testing... so yeah, it takes a while.

I've also found that you don't need to spam the flourishes they like, nor do you have to do only the flourishes they like. I think I did around 2 flourishes per tick, and most of them are the ones they mentioned they liked. this got me a satsified rating for both dance and music.

LOL!!

Perusing through the boards really quick before I go for a run, I was grimacing thinking about whatrecent bad news I would see regarding dancer stuffies.

I know this was said in frustration, but it made me laugh so! I was trying to imagine Drygo saying this (where he is normally kind and polite) and I couldn't stop laughing...thinking of him running up, holding his hands over his head and yelling this at the masses! LOL LOL

Seeing as how this quest is being a booger for so many, I am skittish about even attempting it now.

Anyhoo....thanks for making me smile.
