Well the idea was creating content for others. Limitations would be put in on what missions you could do, but all text background storyline would be all on you

So...we would choose a specific type of mission that is presumably already in game...like go kill a certain nest or something, but fill in the text of the mission ourselves?

Or would there be new mission types?

Others... I was thinking of this as Dancer Missions, but I see where this is headed now. We would be more like "RP Custodians"... a few games have these in the way of "Reporters" or some other kind ofPlayer Made Content recognition title. This would just be for all Ents rather than a few chosen "RPers"... that's actually a pretty cool idea.

Goal would be for different types of missions for each class.

So, let's see if I get this.


Entertainers, and entertainers only, will create custom missions for other players. Those missions would be class specific - but would follow the same general template as current "detroy/deliver" missions?


So I would be able to create a mission with custom content, geared toward a specific class - with my own text, story, etc.


The one part I'm shady on is whether these missions would follow existing "Destroy/deliver" templates or if they would be more customizable (for instance, a scavenger hunt, or an exploration mission).


That about right?

I would answer that last part as a I dont know. Hopefully it would be new types of missions that specific proffesions would be able to give thier ideas on what they would like.

Ok, I've read through all the posts and I still don't get what this idea is about. It sort of sounds like players creating some sort of profession specific quests like those from terminals? So, for instance, I can access some special mission creation menu, and create a dance mission to give to someone to go dance in the Deejan Peaks hotel, or have an artisan craft a hyperdrive part out of some randomly generated components and have it delivered to Tyrena, or send someone out to eradicate a hive of rabid nunas and the system will take care of the payout? The only difference being that I get to write the backstory as to why you're going to do it? I dunno, that might appeal to some people's creative sides, I suppose, but I don't see any real point to it...

Point 1. New missions that are proffesion specific. ( Say a high lvl NPC would spawn for a fencer/tkm to duel ) A mission would spawn a structure for a commando to invade and destroy. These being unique only available from a person who can make it.


Point 2. To bring more attention to the entertainers who are not just a afk bot. Trust me if you make a mission good they will remember you to do more missions and look for you when they need a buff heal or just to chat.


Point 3. To bring a new social element into the game for those who need it.



So long as risk is = reward and the possibility of expanding it in the future it will be used often

This sounds like quite an undertaking. New mission types, spawning buildings and NPCs, unique missions for each type of player....we can't even get them to fix our bugs!

This sounds like it could be fun... but I have this one nagging doubt. I don't think LucasArts/LucasFilms Licensing could ever approve any player created content. Why? Cause my storyline could mention a "canon" character, etc. in a way they don't want it mentioned and unless they approved every single mission we made they would have no control over the characters. They have shown in the past they want full and total control over everything in the Star Wars universe as it impacts the story line/characters. I just can't see how this would ever fly unless it were so limited as to be pointless

FWIW, I tend to lean towards La'lepa's views. I have Dancer Improvement Tunnel Vision, lol... but this could be a very cool thing for the game and I am glad we are being asked to be involved. Perhaps it will help lead into other things that we want for ourselves only as well.


Devs do love to reuse existing code after all.
