I would like to see more male dancers, particularly the handsome ones, not too keen on the disgusting slobs, but hey, maybe some people are into that.

But there is a potential problem for some people. Suppose you are a male player and you go into a cantina and see an attractive male dancer dancing, doing some interesting moves, and you think to yourself, "Wow, that guy looks great!"

Oops. First step on the slippery slope toward a non-traditional lifestyle.

Heh.

Heh, funny story....

I get mistaken as one of the ladies all the time.. My character of course attributes it to the fact that twi'lek are just so pretty, humans can't tell the difference.

Most people are emberassed and quickly run off to hide. However, one guy actually had the guts to admit "Wow you had such a nice ass I just assumed you were a woman". (Not a direct quote, but pretty close)

Yeah, I had real close to the same thing happen to me Tiaga. I was in Bestine and was dancing with the ladies and a dude came up and started watching. Then all of a sudden I hear an "ACK, YOU'RE A GUY". But I have had several good things said, some which caused my character to /blush

Oh yeah, for those on Kettemoor who is wondering, this is Ptetroski (wish I could change the name though) but it's catching on alot. hehe even have alot of people calling me Petro

Don't worry Wemi, we're glad to have you there. As Tand said, musicians are getting harder to find. I'm thinking of dropping ID to go master MM/MD/ME.

My story...

I'm dancing with one of my many female friends in the Theed cantina. Medic comes up and heals us both. I then say thanks, and he replies "np hon" At first I thought he was talking to the lady I was dancing with, then I realized he meant me, and I was thinking, how can he think I am female...Im dancing shirtless. Granted, I have a long blond ponytail, but sheesh, I'm like very muscular, how can you mistake me for a female. =P (he did apologized after someone laughed at him, but I told him I was used to it , which I am sadly enough) =P

I think names might have something to do with it. Arkaye is very unisex, so it doesn't seem to give the impression that you're female...of course the fact that the dances were obviously mo-capped by females is a big reason....and you're probably not human.

Now Tiaga... I thought Tiaga was a female character when I first saw the name. I saw you on the BBB before anything else, and the name just sounds like a female

Yeah, this happens to me quite a bit, too. I guess when people see a Twi'lek dancer, they just assume they are female.

Sometimes I get some grief for being a male Master Dancer and a character who looks like a dancer...trim and having some strong lines for the face and body, generally going for the handsome, athletic look. It usually comes from the guys, especially those that think that I am trying to steal their "women". I find this pretty funny, but I usually completely switch gears and start flirting and hitting on them. This has provided me with no end of entertainment. It's amazing how homophobic some of the people on SWG are. There are a fair number of guys who just don't care, too. They see I'm a master and will watch and tip me; they just want to get healed as quickly as possible.

My character, Xian'rhya, is apparently one of the only male Master Dancers on Flurry. I think I have met two others, Teka and Niwa, but that's it as far as I know. And most of the women on SWG seem to be really appreciative of Xian, especially after I hit master. I don't know whether it's the title or exotic 4, but the ladies are all up ons

I'd just like to see more Master Dancers, period. Male or Female. Having some other people around who enjoy dancing as much as I do and make good conversation in the often boring cantinas is always welcome. I want people to prove me wrong about all those AFK entertainers. I want people to reach master and stick with it. Maybe then the entertainment professions will get the respect they deserve.

Well having had the pleasure of meeting Arkaye in person finally (yay!) I can scarcely believe that anyone would mistake him for a woman. I mean... as men go, he is pretty well built and with that square jaw... I bet he has his fair share of women fawning over him

I always hear about player harassment towards dancers, either male or female, and I am always baffled. I guess that your average player on Intrepid tends to be nicer than average players on other servers. I've never seen anyone be rude to a female dancer, and I have only gottena couple ofactual rude comments myself. I've had plenty of comments that weren't serious (some I know weren't serious, cause they were from friends, and some of them I assume weren't serious, based on the tone), especially since the wonderful shirtless patch came out. "Oh no! Guy in a speedo!; :hides his pet's eyes" Heck, I've even had some guys who were flattered when I was flirting with them. (It's just so hard to resist someone in Stormtrooper armor... )

And of course, when I get the occasional"omg u r a guy dancer r u gay u **edit**" comments I just respond with a tell of "Yep. You got a problem with that?" And pull out one of my combat titles. (And soon, I'll be able to whip out that Novice Commando title with people who get uppity) Although, the best comment I've gotten about it was from my best friend when he saw what career path I was choosing. "A dancer? Way to live the stereotype. " But it's great being unique, and I love the idea of a dancer/commando. (It's just too bad that I don't have the SP to master it. ) I would have been dancer/smuggler, but the smuggler tree needs some serious reworking. Not as bad as BE did, or as bad as DE still does, but it does need a major overhaul.

But I must say that I love being a male masterdancer. Partially for the eye candy of watching myself dance exotic and lyrical in a speedo, and partially for the socialization. Combining Master Dancer with combat professions is nice, too. When I get tired of shooting things, I dance and relax. When I start wanting some action, I go shoot things. Although sometimes I'm shooting things with nothing but hot pants, a carbine, and a smile. And for you Twi'lek guys who keep getting mistaken for women: You haven't really had that experience until you've worn Chitin armor. When wearing my Chitin, I'm mistaken for a woman by strangers well over half the time.

Wow, that was nice and rambling. Maybe I should go get myself some Ritalin or Focusin or something.
