Thread: Dance Macro
I agree with Tandaava and you also on this. You are going to get farther faster being in a group and not AFK in your house or an empty part of the cantina. I don't know if you do this or not LadyPirate, but if we have someone go AFK in the group, we give them a few min (5-10 min for food, biobreak or because RL stuff happens) and if they don't come back, then it's a click-->Disband from group. We kick them out,

I agree here. Its the people that log on long enough to get in a group and then go afk. Ones that are never at keyboard trying to get Master while the rest of us work our rears. Those that stand in the middle of the already too small dance floor while the rest of try and dance around them. Go ld and come back only to set up afk once more and do whatever it is they are doing. Far be it from me to tell someone how to play their character but it seems to me if you are going to pay to play a game wouldnt it be nice to actually play it? Especially if you play a class that deals with the public. Macros are like food as long as they arent abused they can be a good thing. Enough said I guess::Shrugs::
Sob. It breaks my heart to tell you all this (again), but I am an AFK Macrotainer.
I want to stop, but I cannot. I am addicted to AFK Macrotaining.
Well first of all I did read some of the other posts but I thopugh I'd give it a shot anyways. I was sitting here with flame retardant gear on because I figured I'd get toasted.
And no disrespect to you dancers but it's what you chose to do.It was, however, what I've been told to do if I follow the holocrons advice and start towards my Force sensitive slot. I never wanted to be a dancer and I don't consider it exciting since I'm not into chatting and more into gaming. It is just an unecessary grind forced on me. So dont' complain to me talk to the powers that be and we wouldn't ahve this problem.
An personally I could care less about people using macros. If you want to click your life away and feel that somehow that is better then using a macro so you can get to the interesting stuff more power to you. But dont' force your playstyles on me.

It's not the macro's that the majority of us have a problem with, it's the AFK macroing that ticks us off.
Since when did having a finite amount of free time that can be spent playing the game the way I want amount to taking the easy way out? When I play for maybe an hour or two every other night and about four on the weekends I want to do the things in game that I enjoy. I enjoy the combat, hunting and camraderie among the other people in my group.
I don't want to dance, it's that simple. I guess you're right I don't have to dance if I don't want my FSCS.But sincemy goal is to unlock my FSCS I do have to dance. That simple. Which means I don't have a choice in the regard.
And if it makes you feel better that you sat there in front of your screen dancing and chatting and makes you feel like you really accomplished something well good for you. I'm not going do that in the limited time I have available to play.
I find the whole holocron "tells you what to do business" quite... silly.
I just hope the Devs are playing a good prank on us and its something completely different. ![]()
On afking, I don't do it and its sometimes quite disappointing to see an entertainer that showed up in the Cantina a week or so ago shoot ahead of me and do exotic. But then they're not really enjoying themselves, so they're missing out too. *shrugs*
Like mentioned before, if you join a group then go afk it'd be nice if you placed yourself somewhere out of the way and don't include text in your macro. We wouldn't bother you and you wouldn't bother us.
You play the game the way you like and I'll play it the way I like. It's the simple.
You can play the game in any way you like as long as that does not hinder my own way of playing. Think of it this way: If I go out and shoot any mission target you have, that's harassment. If you come to me and harass me in my realm of play, that's Macrotaining.

Is it just me that finds AFKing to Jedi quite ironic?
No kidding, might as well setup the combat macro to fight as well, that way, no time at all has to be spent at the computer.
Well, since nobody answered this poor soul's question, I will. Knowledge of how to macro is not evil. No knowledge is evil. Some people may or may not agree with how one might use this knowledge. Whatever. Let she who is without sin cast the first stone.
I share this that it might be used to enhance others' enjoyment of the game. And because mashing function keys every few seconds while trying to hold conversations in the Cantina is a PITA. So I offer two macros.
Macro 1: constantFlourish
Place the icon for this macro into the F1 slot on your toolbar. This keeps you flourishing forever. Why? So you can interact without having to constantly mash Function keys to get experience. Code:
/flourish 1;
/pause 15;
/flourish 2;
/pause 15;
/flourish 3;
/pause 15;
/flourish 4;
/pause 15; ( ad nauseum through /flourish 8; /pause 15; )
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
Macro 2: restartDancing
Place the icon for this macro inot the F2 slot on your toolbar. This will restart your dancing every 10 minutes, for the cases when you run out of Action and are forced to stop. Useful only in AFK situations. Code:
/pause 600;
/startDance exotic2; ( or whatever dance style you want )
/ui action toolbarSlot01;
Yep. Do 'em just like I wrote 'em.
The Flourish macro will keep on keeping on, even if you're not dancing. So say you stop dancing because you're tired. You keep trying to flourish. Annoying, but OK. Because when your 10 minute timer on the /startDance macro fires, you start dancing again and you're still flourishing.
I also combine this with the following macro in the F3 slot:
Macro: /advertise
/pause 420;
/say I dance for FUN. THEY dance for money. Tip THEM please.;
/ui action toolbarSlot02;
But given the opinion I'm forming of most entertainers based upon their hostility and desire to control how *I* play my game, maybe I'll just stop saying that.
