I'm trying to write a macro that I can run at night or during the day while I'm at work. So far I'm not having much success. Does anyone have a continuous dance macro they could share with me It's greatly appreciated and tahknsin advance.

Adam I do not support macro use for gaining that experience and will not help you. But I won't yell at you either, I will give you a few reasons why I do not support it and maybe you can rethink about being a dancer.

Dancing AFK means you are not playing the game you are not contributing to the world and you are not learning to dance.

You are telling other people that the dancing profession is so mind numbingly boring that you don't need to interact with them or the profession is so uninteresting it is not WORTH working for.

That you consider the social aspects of the profession to be of little importance. That you do not want to interact with other entertainers.

That you want an easy way to respect.

You are tarnishing the image of other entertainers.

You are adding little to the Profession as a whole and the game in general.

Don't do it. If its not worth being present for then you'll lose interest in Master Dancer in a matter or days or weeks.

Let someone else heal people if that's what you wanted it for by hiring an entertainer.

AFK'ers take up space in the cantina, often spam for tips and are annoying to know in for people that are present and want to use the game area.

Consider these because AFK entertainers will get hostility from other entertainers and as importantly patrons. It will be pretty obvious to those who didn't afk their was through a profession that you did. Please consider other alternatives.

I agree with everything Tandava said. Just think about why you want to be an entertainer, if you don't want to play an entertainer. Because let me let you in on a little secret, it doesn't get more exciting or interesting with a master title above your head. You're still doing the same thing you were when you started, so why bother if it's that uninteresting to you?

If none of what has been said persuades you, please please please don't afk in the cantina. Do it in a back room away from everyone, so that we don't have to put up with you in our way and so that the patrons can actually see the real live entertainers. Also, keep say spam out of the macro, you try playing for four hours with the same person saying the same thing every ten minutes right next to you.

Acoop you should have really read a few of the other post. I'm sitting here wondering why you haven't been flamed to a crisp yet. 2 or 3 post would have told you that most ppl here don't like AFK macros.

If you can keep your head while everyone around you is looseing theirs, YOU obviously don't understand the situation!

(a) Because I didn't see the thread til just now and I'm feeling too mellow to flame.

(b) Tandava said it all for me, and very well (She has that talent).

(c) We've had so many flamewars over AFK macroing already that it's become a Dead Horse (tm). I think most of us are just tired of arguing about it.

Tonight I'm hacking into the SWG game code. I will insert a line in every AFK Macroer's macro that just says "/duel" every 10 minutes if it detects that they are AFK. This line will be unerasable, and should very quickly put an end to the scourge of the cantina.

Just to be devils advocate. If the rumors are true to holocrons are telling people to master X. WHat if the person playing is told to be a dancer, but s/he never had the intention of doing so ever. But in order to try move on with the holocrons s/he's forced to Master x profession.

Some may say well thats whats supposed to make it hard to become a Jedi, well the flip side to that is "SOE" is forcing me to do something that I was NEVER going to do and it is not FUN, but I'm forced to do this so i'm going to do it the easy way.

I dont agree or disagree with the other posts, just somethings to chew on.

There are alot of ways to write Macros, just read the boards more and you'll find out how. If not go to google and do a search.

What does bug me is that people want things handed to them on a silver platter. Remember this:

Child asks, "Mom how do you spell Birthday?"

Mom replies, "Go look it up in the Dictionary.thats why I bought it."

If you're on the internet think you have the worlds largestest and most extensive information resource at your fringertips. USE IT!.

Not uptight, sick and tired of the people who want to do this and lower the profession to even more. Tandaava couldn't have said it better. I too am a Master Dancer who sat in front of the computer the whole time, not because I don't have a life, but because I liked the social side of it. If I hadn't done this, I wouldn't have met some of the great dancers that I have such as Joycloud, Tandaava, Nare, Tiaga, and a host of others that I have become (or hope I have) good friends with.

lol yes this is quite amusing to me. I have been keeping up with things on the Jedi boards as well and have seen at least two "manly man" masters who have been told to dance.

The really bad thing about this is that they can indeed afk macro through the biggest part of this. Too bad that they didn't come up with a way to stop the afk macroing before launching the fscs aspects of the game yet. I would LOVE for these guys who sat with their heads between my legs, forcing me to /dump my macro...stop dancing..look for another place to start dancing...and the guys who I have seen repeatedly torment male dancers....would LOVE to see them HAVE to sit there without afk macroing and go through some of it themselves.

I really don't think anyone who has not mastered dance (or musician cause those folks are there and see it happen) has a clue just how difficult mastering dance really is.

Perhaps these folks will gain a new level of respect for those of us who did it willingly

No one forces you to do anything, including the game designers. If you "choose" to follow a holocron to open a force sensitive slot and it says be a dancer then suck in your gut and pay the toll we had to. You may not want to talk to patrons but you'll get farther and faster in a band and it won't be such a painful grind. Maybe you'll actually give a bit of respect to those people who do it and gain some yourself. You'll probably need some of those entertainers when you are a jedi. Why? Connections and information.

If getting that fs is so important to you and your style of game play then its important enough to level up through dancing as you play the game, at your keyboard. If that holocron told you to go and be a Master Pistoleer or Master TKA would you be on their forums asking for a way to macro killing and shooting things while you sleep?

If its something you don't feel you need to be present or work for then I don't think you really want the force slot very much or you choose to take the easy way out whenever possible. Not very jedi like to me. I for one hope you dance, not in a macro but in person and learn the lessons it teaches and perhaps learn to enjoy itand use it for any character you get.

Hey if you enjoy dancing more power to you. Not my bag and not why Iplay the game. It's not like I'm all of a sudden going toenjoy sitting in front of the computer clicking flourishes repeatedly and chatting with patrons. This contains zero interest for me and is not gonna happen.

I do enjoy going on group hunts, killing imps and exploring so the answer isno I don't use a macros for those but if I have to do some type of sampling I will.

You play the game the way you like and I'll play it the way I like. It's the simple.

okay, try and read the above post again. And read it this time...

And I hope they have made it so that No AFK dancer will ever get a shot at being a Jedi.

[It's not the macro's that the majority of us have a problem with, it's the AFK macroing that ticks us off. ]

I agree here. Its the people that log on long enough to get in a group and then go afk. Ones that are never at keyboard trying to get Master while the rest of us work our rears. Those that stand in the middle of the already too small dance floor while the rest of try and dance around them. Go ld and come back only to set up afk once more and do whatever it is they are doing. Far be it from me to tell someone how to play their character but it seems to me if you are going to pay to play a game wouldnt it be nice to actually play it? Especially if you play a class that deals with the public. Macros are like food as long as they arent abused they can be a good thing. Enough said I guess::Shrugs::
