Thread: Why did you become a dancer?
It's sad really... I became a twilek dancer for the sole purpose of:
HAVING A COOL SLAVE GIRL OUTFIT!! ![]()
I remained a dancer because I enjoyed the close-knit relationships I found with other regular dancers and the regular cantina crowd in the small city of Kor Vella. ![]()
Tailoring!!! BOOOOOOO!
I was a tailor in a former game and I swore I would NEVER do it again!! ![]()
But I'm sure glad there are lots of folks out there who do tailor!!
Hehehe. So now we've had the confessions of the mod. ![]()
Sounds Good, Jessea.
Me, It was just something different and fun to try. While I don't know if I'll be a dancer forever, I do think that I will at least try to participate in cantinas in some manner.
I became a dancer because it was fun and different. I played EQ for 3 years and I loved tradeskills because they provided an interesting downtime instead of combat. I thought about tailor or architect but in the end the social aspect of dancer got me. I am also a roleplayer so that was another benefit to dancer.
Overall I keep dancer because I'm not a "power-gamer", I don't have time during my day to play more than an hour or two. Being a dancer (and image designer) allows me to log in and enjoy playing without feeling pressed for time or as if I'm not advancing (which was a downfall for me in EQ).
Plus I'm secretly fufilling my dream to be a ballerina! ![]()
To be honest I did it just for something funny to mess with. I started a Wookiee dancer the second dayafter release just for something different / funny to do. (about a week later there was suddenly tons of wookiee dancers but luckily most went away) I got hooked tho, I really surprised myself how much I enjoyed it and how much fun I was having hanging out with the other entertainers. Since then its been my favorite thing to do in the game.. funny how things like that happen.
After I made Master Dancer / Master Musician / Master Entertainer with my Wookiee (and yes, I did it without macroing and was one of the first Master Musicians onCorbantis
) I decided to make a Twi'lek instead because I didn't want people to look at me like a side show anymore and I wanted to be taken more seriously.
Needless to say, I still love the profession and I feel really lucky to be in a position to have some positive effect on it. ![]()
I initially wanted to make a musician. I got to master entertainer and found that the dance stuff was a) more fun and b) moving faster. So I have my mandoviol and that makes me happy and covers the music jones. And I can show off my tons of adorable clothes and have fun!
I really like the social aspects of this, and I wanted a character that wasn't completely combat-dependent but I have no patience for crafting. ![]()
That's the basics of it.
Miralin Darkmist
Steel Legion PA
Mos Springfield, Tatooine
Tarquinas
My very first character was a human smuggler. I took the character into a cantina (Bria during beta) and saw a room full of people flirting, dancing and playing music. I immediately did a /logout and came back in with a cute little twi'lek entertainer.
I loved that we could play characters with that much sexual tension around themselves. I did nothing but flirt and dance for the first two weeks I played the game. It was a LOT of fun. I met a great group of people in beta that way. Of course when the game was released for real and it became obvious that they had no intention of adding any kind of content to the profession and as people started getting extra accounts to make heal bots I slowly found my friends drifting away and the flirty sexually charged atmosphere become a chat box filled with "Welcome to ____ cantina make sure you listen or watch us and please tip." as the macros rolled. ![]()
Cause my Holo told me...![]()
its kind of fun but not my cup of tea...I playing in a band
may keep that one.
I started out as a marksman, and I have read about the entertainment professions, but somehow it didn't sound fun to me. Until I ended up in the cantina and saw the dancers there. I never could have imagined that it would be so much fun, in game. I love to dance, andhave done so for many years. I guess it was only a matter of time that I would make a dancer in game as well
