Reading Pickles' reply to a thread: "ask yourself why you want to dance." I thought: "hey that might make a nice topic!" Course I'm nosey too but that's not the point

Anyway! Why did you make a dancer? Out of a roleplaying idea? The healing? A whim?

I'll start *grins*

My dancer actually started her life with the idea of her being a bodyguard to a high Imperial Official. Think veils, espionage and guns. Probably a bit cheesy but heyI liked the thought.

But as things go she didn't turn out that way. She's now a member of Eclipse's Talus Moon. Which she enjoys. Shehas a bad attitude, she'sbitter, sarcastic, cynical and doesn't like men all too much. Oh and probably a little violent too. Long way from a seductive veil dancer...

I was passing by the cantina the first week of the game. When I went in I just thought 'WOW I love the dances she is doing and the clothes she is wearing'. I knew then I would drop scout and become a dancer. One month later after taking time off tohelp my PA get there PA hall I was a master Dancer.

I *love* combat. But at the same time, I wanted something different. I was impressed that SWG had professions with such a different feel from the normal combat classes found in most games. And as a male player, I also wanted to defy gender stereotypes with a male dancer. The experience as a whole has been fun. I decided to master TKA early on, as I liked the idea of a dancer who melded his grace with the martial arts. One of my favorite moments in SWG was when I got heckled by a guy in Keren who then challenged me to a duel.He lasted about 5 seconds .

I started my charcater on Bria when the Gorath server was having fits. I thought, let me try something different for a couple days till my server is back up. I could believe how much fun it was, and the socializing is the best. I found friends and family in this profession. Months later I'm still here. Leave it to say my "temp" character became permanent. I left Gorath and never looked back.

Mmmmm, maybe I should rethink my ideas about my character being too "delicate" to be a TKM . . .

In beta I stopped into the Mos Eisley cantina and fell in love with the atmosphere. I am by nature chatty and flirty so it was a perfect fit.

Of course as the game is now I have no idea why I went back to dancing... Hoping to taste a little of the old flavor maybe?

I became a dancer because I love dancing in real life. I find it to be a beautiful and fun form of self-expression.

Originally, I had wanted to be a dancer/BH, until I realized I wouldn't have the skill points to do it all. So I "settled" for M. Dancer / M. Pistoleer, then I evolved into M. Dancer/M. Smuggler.

my main character is currently trying architect (read my sig) but trying to solo it i have a lot of time waiting for resources, so i thought of starting a new character on another server just to fill the time.

i read a few of the various guides and read one on a fan site, i think it may have been writen by Sultrina, that role-play / interaction with the customers was such an important part of a dancer / entertainer. normally i try to solo professions but i thought why not try something different.

after the first 2 days i was hooked. i spend much more time now with this new character.

For me it mostly started as a joke with a friend. He was going to be a big burly fighter type so I was going to be a flaming dancer/image designer. Of course, reality tends to change the best laid plans. Once I found out dancers were stuck inside cantinas, I lost interest, until I actually played the game for a bit.

Then I found I was drawn to the roleplaying and socialization aspects. I was amazed that a game company had given so much effort and cared so much about people who love to roleplay and socialize.

Of course, now I know better.

(shh, i'm really a sim)

Anyway, a friend of mine from TSO invited me to come play this game. I told her no way jose, I'm not really a gamer, I only play sims cause it's silly and lighthearted. She tells me "you can be an entertainer" to wich i reply "would I have to shoot stuff?". She tells me shooting stuff is probably the best part of the game to which i cringe and decline the invitation. Then she tells me "you can bite people". Well, 10 minutes later I'm in the WallMart Picking up my copy of the game.

The only thing I had any interest in was Dancing and being a goof. While this is no longer true, my best times are still had while dancing. I like to throw parties and be social and encourage others to do the same. Mostly I like to feel appreciated by and usefull to my friends. Dancingprovides that for me.

Being an old-time text gamer, I thought being a Dancer would be fun. I happen to like all the clothes .. the wraps, the leotards, and the lovely gowns. And who says you have to dance in a cantina all the time? I have danced in lots of different bases during raids, camps in my early days and I love the theatre in Theed .. I go there to dance all by myself. Who says you can't be silly, exotic, and have some fun? I don't get offended, but you might be challenged to a duel or slapped.. so beware!

These days you will find me dancing in Ostia on Rori, as I buff my guildmates minds, but you can always ask for a buff if you see me around. If we can find a hospital, a cantina, or suitable building I am happy to assist.

Dancing can get a bit boring but if that happens, just go shopping .. or hunting .. There are lots of great vendors that love to dress dancers. As long as I have my rifle, my hotpants, and few credits in my backpack I am happy.

My first character was on Ahazi and was going Rifle(wo)man and BE. I got very tired with the brokeness of BE and my boyfriend had started an entertainer on Kauri. I was like .. "Hm. Could be fun!" So, I started up Festila.. and have been playing her ever since. I loved the interaction and the usual respect I got from other players since I was doing the class because I wanted to.

I ended up mastering Image Design as well, but recently dropped it for Ranger.

Ranger by day, Dancer by night! ... or is it the other way around?
