I could go for some eye-contact stuff in general. I'm not sure how that would work, but I'd like to be able to communication more without talking. No I don't want a bunch of raunchy cyber socials either, just some that make sense. You know, like the /distract effx could be targetted at someone and maybe give them a message like "SoandSo catches your eye."

I think theres room to grow in the socials that doesn't make us into strippers. I don't see it ever happening though, since we can't even get other stuff fixed.

Javier, my dear, your kisses never bother me as they aren't offensive since they are on the hand or cheek - and you are a friend. You are (almost) always a gentleman towards me!

SoontierFel, I don't usually macro. I manually flourish. Since I often dance with a group of dancers who are at least at pop2 we bandflo a lot so macroing just doesn't work. I also don't wear fleshwraps or body suits. But then the devs haven't exactly given us a lot of costume choices to choose from besides revealing outfits.

Hey, I wear some of the bodysuits and I don't think that makes me all that risque. ;P

My character concept may be that of a Twi'lek slave, but I do not feel that subjects me to some of the abuse that some of the emotes create. I do play my character as if she were supposed to be eye candy, but that's the character. There is a difference between that and being "assaulted" by some immature players idea of roleplaying (spamming social emotes). However, just because I play my character like that, it does not mean that the rest of the dancers want to be eye candy. I think adding some kind of "special" Master Dancer emote would only enhance the amount of immaturity directed at this class.

So... uhm.. no thanks.

just to put things in perspective...

1. I was not suggesting to give novice marksman better /emotes

2. I was suggesting to give the master dancers/musicians better emotes. I think that would limit a lot of problems you guys are having b/c I think a master of an entertainment profession would understand what you are talking about. Plus I don't think a /consent would be too bad of an idea

3. I left what type pretty vague my suggestion was the /kiss or /hug... notice I didn't say /hump. Just thought I'd point that out. You guys are a social class correct me if I'm wrong so why would it be too illogical to think you could have better social abilities. I left that open ended to see what you guys think. Why not better eye contact or something like the person in the previous post mentioned, something to direction your attention maybe. The point is you guys need more content right? Think about the possibilities.. they could give you some kind of /seduce command (dont' have a heart attack just yet), where you could mesmerize a person with your dancing who is trying to shoot you in the cantina b/c you just got a tef... thus making them dizzy and you unattackable for a period of time. Things like that would give you a lot of possibilities, where maybe some of you could be used in covert ops.. "when all else fails send in the dancer." If you'd like to completely stay out of anything related to combat (I can already hear the whines), then do so maybe someone else would enjoy not having to clone.

4. Also "some" entertainers do wear exotic leotards and do /startdance exotic 1+2. In real life we could call them "erotic dancers" ... maybe another word would a hooker.. It's kind of hard to argue that someone who dresses like that (I'm speaking of the character... and not the person, and obviously these two aren't the same seeing that I don't know how to fire a pistol or use a sword properly in real life)is doing so for their own benefit.. unless well.. it's a 40 year old man (and yes that is old hate to break it to you), and in that case... that's definately one way to go about it.

hehe you guys need to loosen up a little. If a wookie could give me a nice kiss it might be kind of interesting to try it, I don't know it might be kind of cool to have a relationship with a carpet.

We aren't the ones who need to "loosen up" - you are the one who needs to give our profession and character some respect. /seduce ability indeed . . . .

And as fas as theerotic dancer (or hooker for that matter) goes - are you saying it should be perfectly acceptable for someone to walk up to one and /kiss, /hug, /squeeze, etc. them to their heart's content? No, its not - it could get a person in a lot of trouble. So why is it okay to do such nonsense in SWG?

hey kirah calm down for just one sec and read what I'm saying. Scroll up if you have to.. I never said it was acceptable one time for anyone to walk up and squeeze hug kiss whatever anyone not one time. In fact I've said quite a few times that I agree with you and also that there should be some kind of consent before you can do those type of things. I said thatat least threetimes if you would scroll up and read. I've never done that myself to an entertainer and I don't really see the point. What I am saying is I just got done mastering all of the entertainer classes entertainer, musician, dancer, and image designer, and it wasn't any fun to me. So what I'm trying to think about is how can you make these classes fit better with the rest. Right now when I walk into the cantina I go for one purpose and one purpose alone... that is to get my bf healed and get out. Let's think about this objectively for a second and get off the whole soontier fel saying it's ok for entertainers to be molested by 12 year olds. It's not ok for you to be molested by 12 year olds . What I am saying is, that when I walk into a cantina my head should jerk towards the master dancer, if that's degrading that's degrading, that's just how it is. I just think it would be cool for you guys to have options like that. Let's say you had some /emote call it /direct whatever you want to call it where it cost a big part of your mind maybe where you could click on a player and cause him target you. I'd also like to add Kirah I'm sorry you've been molested by 12 year olds

I have to ask again: Why would it require a Master Dancer to be exceptionally social?

If other people do not have these emotes, then you would be limiting their role-playing opportunities. You can play a social character without ever stepping foot on a stage. Han Solo was a pretty sociable guy. How do we know this? We watch him do it (the actual character; not the cardboard cut-out in the game *grin*). He doesn't need a special emote. But he's hardly an entertainer.

I'd go so far as to say that entertainers tend to be social. But not all socializers tend to be entertainers. The merchant can be social and probably ought to be. The medic can have a wonderful bedside manner. The chef knows how to flavor his food because he talks to his patrons. The marksman can kick back around the campfire and regale his audience with an exciting tale of how he assaulted Fort Tusken.

Would you deny social characters from having an especially emote just because he's not a Dancer? That seems unfair to all the role-players out there. Just because you role-play doesn't mean you choose to be an Entertainer. My secondary character is a staunch Imperial soldier. He would definitely not try his hand at dancing (he also wouldn't use the special kiss emote either, that's for sure). But I could make a friendly creature handler who enjoys flirting and giving special kisses. Why does being good on my feet be a prerequisite for good social skills?

And then there's the fact that some dancers aren't that sociable (and I mean RP reasons...not AFK) so this ability would be wasted on them.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.

Hama always has a crowd around her, and not just because she's the only non-afk entertainer in the cantina! It's because she's funny and charming and has a friendly personality. She enjoys dancing, and it shows. A /giggle from Hama is better than a lap dance from some half-naked afk-er!
