"Well i know at master level I don't fall doing Lyrical I was just using that as a reference."

Actually, you are 'falling' in Lyrical2 if you're a master not dancing with a weapon that doesn't allow you to fall. It's just that the animation for a critical fail in the lyrical dance doesn't have you falling on your butt, it has you losing your place in the step, pausing to scratch your head in confusion and then walking back to restart the base dance step. It's definately not as obvious as any of the other fall animations.

IMO, falls should be removed completely. It shouldn't be required for a dancer (or a musician for that matter, but that's a whole other discussion) to *have* to sink points into master entertainer just for the +10 dance that doesn't even prevent falls completely. If they are going to tie the fall rate to +dance bonus, a dancer should receive +100 dance from the dance tree alone, and there should be bio engineered tissues for synth cloth that add between +10 and +20 to dance. At least a +dance cloth would actually be of use instead of faster healing. I heal fast enough already, why would I spend thousands on something that does nothing at all to benefit myself or make my own show look better?

I agree, I'd love to be able to "fall on purpose". There have been a number of times I'd wished I could. But as a master dancer/master entertainer, I never fall on anything lyrical or below. Exotic2 is rather rare, but exotic3/4 and lyrical2 I fall on way too much.

I really wish they'd fix that. But fix the falling rate first. I think people look silly always holding a weapon. I tend to avoid doing routines involving weapons because it's so common.

Doing some tests with novice entertainer on basic, I see about the same fall rate as master on exotic4. I don't have exact numbers, as the flourish I was using was shorter than the fall animation, so it would take out a flourish, unless it was at the end. Plus I was talking to someone and kept getting distracted. But the numbers I do have look similar, and it feels about the same.

I'm trying with a knife in hand. Haven't falled yet, but it's only been 30 flourishes. If it hits 50, I'll call it fairly conclusive.

I'm going to call it conclusive that weapons definately do have an effect on falling. I think I'm up to around 60 or 70 now and no fall.

Do you know what the "fall" looks like on lyrical? You probably get that too. In my experience it is your top two or three dances.

Well when I fall I'll just Role Play it into "the floor is slick from all these people in here sweating on the floor". lol...well its true. We have all this stuff in the game and nothing cleans any of it. So I just RP to something funny. I'll ad-lib it if I have to.

I'm not a master yet but I have maxxed out knowledge and tech. I can't remember when the last time was I fell on a "lower" dance. But I still fall about 5-10% of the time on exotic2.

You know, it occurrs to me... ME already reduces fall rates.. Musicians have a very compelling reason to ME (Mando/ceremonial). Making ME/MD never fall would be a very compelling reason for dancers.

Of course I'd rather ME contain nonspecific stuff that benefeits all entertainers. This would be more of a compromise. A bad one at that, since it doesn't give ME standing on it's own anything.

I do the same thing. It's an excellent conversation starter; people who don't respond to "Welcome. How's your evening going?" or other rather blandhello-welcome-to-the-cantina lines often will respond to my charactermuttering about spilled drinks on the floor or complaining about the cleaners' incompetence: "You just can't find good help these days.." etc. Of course, Ithen get a lot of /tells from bystanders to say that if I held a weapon while dancing I wouldn't fall--so regardless of whether it's true or not, it's certainly a common belief.

But my character's not a master yet, and I enjoy RPing that she's still learning her trade. At Master level, I agree that falls should be rare, if not absent altogether.

lol...when I first read that I thought all the ME's were you talking about....you. Its master entertainer is it not? I dont have skill room for master entertainer as my master dancer is also a master droid engineer with pistols 4 expert ranged (ranged 3) and surveying 4. I just dont have any skill points left.

not sure if this has been asked, or mentioned before, but, do musicians ever fail a flourish, or have a small chance to do such a thing? because that is how i view falling, a failed flourish.

As far as anyone knows, there is no critical fail for musicians. They get to play perfect notes every time while the dancers stumble around like drunken fools.
