"SWG has an events forum. Just follow the rules for advertising events. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board?board.id=Events"

Sorry, but regular people like you and I cannot post threads into that forum, we can only reply. I don't think that forum is for player driven events. It's for discussion of how to run events, things the devs can improve for events and dev run events. Any other ideas?

For the record, I changed the name of the post to say cross-server, as per suggestions.

You can read right? Well at the top of that forum is the stickied post on the proper way to advertise events to the SWG population at large. You can get prissy all you want but the fact is that this isn't the appropriate forum to post events in.

Good luck with your event in any case, looks like fun for all who participate.

*sigh*

I'm trying to be very patient here, but we're going around in circles. That post states to place the event in your galaxy forum. This is not a galaxy-specific event. It's a cross server event that a lot of dancers and musicians from other servers like to attend.

I'm sorry if you think I'm littering the dancer forum with garbage that doesn't interest you. I'm willing to consider other ideas, as I've stated, but the devs have not created a forum for cross server events. I'm willing to concede that this forum isn't the ideal forum for this sort of thing, but I see no alternative.

Cantina Crawls are not a joy to run. They take a lot of work and I lose cash on every one. I run these things because people tell me they are fun, they enjoy them. Those people are on this forum, and I think they want to know when the next crawl happens.

I can take criticism, and I can take suggestions. I can understand your point, and I have agreed with you that this forum is not an ideal place for this. I'm willing to look at viable alternatives. But accusing me of not being able to read and being 'prissy' is extremely rude, and I honestly don't think I deserve that.

I'm sorry, but this whole thingis just starting to sound like the ages-old Howard Stern thing...

If you don't want to hear it, turn the dial to another station. If you're that bothered by Cantina Crawl threads, don't read the threads.

Is this something worth taking to an internal war? Is it really that much to be worth the trouble? Or are some of us just worried that the dancer forum is going to turn into the Bria forum?

Oh, good heavens - NO! That's why I don't go there very often!

How nice it is to see people in professions which are already struggling with profound problems due to player and developer indifference turning on each other, scratching and clawing and fouling the only place they still have that is FUN and interesting. At least Javier and the others are attempting to do something which brings others together, fosters a sense of community and gives live entertainers a place to be live and enjoy themselves. And then along come the forum police to complain and whine like spoiled three year olds. Yes, great idea...we'll all just settle down and complain and cry and do NOTHING. That would be a more proper use of the forums by far now, wouldn't it? Why not justignore posts that don't interest you? They obviously interest others here.

Javier's not really the one getting prissy here.

Javy, don't listen to this sourpuss. Please keep posting the cantina crawl announcements in all the entertainer forums. It is ENTIRELY appropriate to post about a cross-server event for all entertainers in these forums. If some cranky sourpusses don't like it, they can skip the thread and not read it.

I just made a dancer on Bria this week, expressly for the purpose of attending the next crawl. Am I going to start reading the Bria boards now? No! But I'll still be reading here.

Title says it all. How does your galaxy events help dancers on other galaxies? please post on the Bria Forum like you were meant to.

OK, I've read the entire thread and I'm not conviced one way or the other. I'd love to see an official "ruling" on this by either Panthu or Jeassa.

And I do agree with Javier, if this is NOT the place to post cross-galaxy events, where should they go?

Okay, this is not my forum, so this is not official... this is just me as a player and my opinion...

/corre hat off

How can anyone honestly object to an invitation to an event that involves the entire entertainer community being posted on this board? We get so much crap and nonsense on all profession boards that nobody is interested in, whereas this sort of thing many people are interested in. I myself have attended a Bria event though I don't even play on Bria.

If you want to start picking on someone for posting in the wrong place, try telling the "how do I do a macro kkthx" crowd to post in "Game Guides".

And, ahem, everyone knows that trolling and flaming is not cool. Jeassa is watching you....
