You can read right? Well at the top of that forum is the stickied post on the proper way to advertise events to the SWG population at large. You can get prissy all you want but the fact is that this isn't the appropriate forum to post events in.

Good luck with your event in any case, looks like fun for all who participate.

Wow....can you get any more condescending or rude? Javier is doing his best to help provide the entertainers of swg anoccasion to meet and hang out with each other regardless of what server their mains might be on. He and theotherswho have labored to make these events successful have sacrificed their time and credits to provide an enjoyable eventfor all involved. If you had an ounce of concern about the entertainer professions one might ask why it even matters where the heck this information is posted, as long as it gets to the ones who need it. I myself found out about thecrawls here on the dancers forums (where DANCERS go to read *gasp*) and would not have known about it otherwise.

Honestly if you are having a bad day, go vent it out somewhere else

Go flame on Bria. THats what your forum is for. I'm sure other dancers on other galaxies don't care about your flames.

Blamj, you are the one who opened up this can of worms and now this statementis all youdecidetocontribute to the topic? Fine. It shows me that your intention must nothave been tospark friendly, intelligentdiscussions about how we can coordinate events on various servers at all. Consider this my final reply to any post or thread that has your name on it. I've had it with flame wars and flame war mongers.

Not specifically meant for this, but how is it "cross-server"?

The current Gorax spawn eventis cross server. The DWB is cross server (well so is every dungeon of course). This is on Bria only, so it's not cross server.

Sure, everyone is invited from everywhere, but I bet that if we ask people who organize public events on any server if we are "allowed" to create n00b characters on their server to come to their event they would allow it 9 times out of 10. As far as I understand this is the total extend of the cross server definition of the Cantina Crawl? In which case almost all public events could be called cross server.

Now if the organizers would organize this event on mulitple servers it could be truly called cross server, but as it is, it actually is a Bria event, one way or the other.

That said, by all means keep posting on it here (like you need my vote =P ), because cross server or not it's a great initiative. =)

"Not specifically meant for this, but how is it "cross-server"?"

Call it anything you want, I'm easy. It's an event that happens on a specific server that people from all servers are invited to. I don't want to get stuck on semantics here, I just want to run fun events that dancers will enjoy.

I just realized who Blamj is... I've seen him on Bria NUMEROUS times. He can usually be found in the cantina, saying pretty awful things to the dancers and musicians who are there. He is absolutely a troll. He went on my ignore list pretty quickly. I believe I'll do the same on the forums.

Well, this thread has convinced me of one thing: I'm gonna try to join the next cantina crawl! Woot! Good thing it's posted in a forum I actually read, so I can keep on top of the details. Better make a character on Bria soon so I can save up for the travel tickets and get some nice clothes.

Yup! Good thing the announcement for the last crawl was posted on the Dancer forum or I'd have never known about it and would have missed the most fun night I've had in SWG..evah!

Are you suspecting I'm someone or are you talking about my avatar Telqhelek? The outcast Tusken who never types in english? the same person who never spent more then 25 min in the bestine cantina lol!

You should really apologize for saying that. As it's a complete troll.

I welcome these events where players from all servers are encouraged to gather in one place at the same time to get together to just have fun. It has encouraged me to start characters on Bria and other servers that I might not have otherwise, and encouraged me to go out and meet other players who I might not otherwise have even known about. I wouldn't worry about posts being too Bria-centric so to speak. I can attest to the fact that there are some fun people on Bria, and I'm not originally from that server. Having had a chance to meet them, I can certainly understand why Bria is the home server of fun events like the Cantina Crawl, but I can also say that by posting about them here in the dancer forum (for one at least), ideas like this are bound to spread to other servers as well, such as the Test Center event this weekend, and plans are already in the works for an upcoming event, on Flurry, that I am personally involved with. Stay tuned for more details on that - oh, and those details will be posted in this forum (and possibly others).

OK, I've read the entire thread and I'm not conviced one way or the other. I'd love to see an official "ruling" on this by either Panthu or Jeassa.

And I do agree with Javier, if this is NOT the place to post cross-galaxy events, where should they go?

Roho

Panthu says it's fine. There isn't really another place... I do think the CCs and anything else should be posted to the Events threads in your Galaxy forum so they can be put on the real Events Page, but talking about them here is fine by me. I think Jeassa would say the same.
