[TH] No more waiting to put on two buffs!

He says that as if it's a new enhancement . . . . *rolls eyes*

And, I'll jump for joy over the increased mission payouts when I see what they are . . .

Yeah, it does kind of chap my hide that they are touting the simultaneous buff thing like it's a new feature, and not the bug fix that it actually is. Oh well. At least it's fixed. I suppose if they want to crow about it like they really did us a favor, they can.

Great news on the mission payout! Deila, do you know if they took our input from your focus thread here at all?

You have no idea how hard we worked to get attention on these items: Tiaga, Me, Jessi, Sart, Deila, New Jedi, RavenMist, Kwee, TechnoCan, Gyopi, even DocSavag, TheRealTK421, and other non-Ent related Corrs gave us support to help get these items in queue.

Mission payouts, register, dual buffing bug, you have no idea how many threads, emails, and PMs were dedicated to these problems. That's just on the Corr side! We have Devs trying to justify getting our issues in queue more often too.

It's ok to celebrate the small wins.

I completely agree, Panthu. And, to be honest, I consider these bigger than just "small wins." The fact is that every single profession and part of the game has not only desires and issues, but bugs too! The fact that our bugs are getting some degree of priority is a great thing. It's better to fix the bugs first then get to the new stuff, imo.

Believe me, I agree that at times we needed to complain loudly because it seemed as if nobody on the development team was paying the least bit of attention to us. But, I also believe that it's important to give credit where credit is due. And, the dev team deserves some credit for fixing our bugs. And, I don't think there's ever any real reason to complain about good news.

I would never begrudge all the hard work that the corrs have done to get the bug fixed and get some dev love directed toward the entertainer professions on mission payouts. I just wish they'd play it straight once in a while, admit that it was a bug and that they finally fixed it. As for the mission payouts, if they are in the 1k plus range . . . .

Hey calling it new content is an easy way to tell the combat professions that their issues with buff times can now be fixed by finding a pair of LIVE ents. So I don't care if it is a bug fix or not we are getting attention. The attention is consistent too since we are seeing small fixes in most patches.

Thanks cors for opening their eyes and thanks devs for listening and working on our issues. Small, steady, consistent steps gets you to the goal faster than trying to leapfrog your way there.

Oh goodness, I didn't mean for that to sound like a pity plea for Corrs.

I just meant, things that would seem very simple and straight forward in other Profession branches, acually take a lot of explaining because the people who make the decisions to change things don't always recognize Ent issues like they do issues they are more familiar with, like combat or crafting.

We as a community spent a lot of time trying to explain our needs on these items and we as a community should be happy about getting them. That's all I meant to say.

The fact that these items have been understood and addressed is a good sign that we are fitting in a little better and future changes will most likely come much faster now. That's a very cool thing!

Yep, well /register being fixed was also announced as if it were new. I don't care about the semantics there, and to be honest for a lot of newer players it really kind of is a new feature. Things they've never known about. Either way... they're fixed, and I'm happy about that!

My focus thread here spun way outside of the scope of the question I asked, for the most part. I was asking about what payouts should go to with no other changes to missions, and mostof the feedback was about how to change the missions.

In one regard though, it looks like we're pretty much on par with Artisan survey missions, which is something that both LeBob and I were using as a kind of benchmark in our pitching in there. And I think that's about where the feedback from our focus thread was heading too - assuming no other sweeping change and improvements to missions at this time. I think it all comes together to be in about the same place.

I want that too - more involved and rewarding gameplay from missions, but that would take something more akin to a Mission Revamp (tm), and I didn't think they'd be going too far beyond quick fixes and changes now, in the immediate. I'm taking things one step at a time - if I can get better payouts from the same old missions NOW, and work on getting more fun (or scalable, or all the other things we've wished for)missions later, I'll take something now ratherthan nothing until later.

Here's what I've been seeing... they're taking the time now to knock out all of those pesky little quick-fix types of things across the board, as many as they can attack, and as quickly as they can attack them. And that rocks. Not only that, but my Dancer lists of fixes (some continuations of Panthu's last lists) are getting more love than I would ever have imagined... so far to date in this whirlwhind of fixes, I think we've received more fixes off these lists than any other profession! How's that for a little turnabout?

Good point on the /register thing, I hadn't thought of that. Of course they can make these things sound like awesome whiz-bang new features if they want, as long as they're fixing these longstanding and annoying bugs, who am I to complain?

While I'm glad that they increased the mission payouts, I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't make them scale with group size or skill level. 1100-1300 is a great payout IF you're staying on the same planet or even in the same city, and if you don't have to split that payout with a group of 19 other people. What you say is very true - they're structuring them like the artisan missions, which are obviously meant to be solo endeavors. What we need to make them understand next is that entertainers are social types, and we like to do things in a group - even when we've mastered and no longer need the group xp bonus.

I suppose if we could get every entertainer in the big group to take missions though, it would even out. But that would require an easier way to see where the mission is (i.e., make sure it's for the cantina you're performing in). And you know, if they could just put a terminal outside every cantina, theater, and hotel, that would really help things too. In Theed, you have to run back and forth to the starport (from the cantina) to get an entertainer mission terminal -- unless there's a closer one that I never found.

But again, kudos to you and all our fabulous correspondents and glowies. I must say, I do feel as if we're making some progress. And even though I play SWG about 1/80th as often as I used to, it gives me hope. Maybe by this summer I'll be out of semi-retirement and lighting the stages of Intrepid once again.

You have to remember, we're the weirdos! People don't really understand our problems until they've spent some time playing an Ent. We are unique, we aren't a universal gaming concept like Combat and even Crafting.

It just means things are a little harder for us, we have to explain that much more, we have to be that much more patient, but if we are, the end payout is going to be wonderful for us. We all have things about these Ent profs that make us the goofy passionate bunch of Ents we are. Pleeeease be happy that we are being worked into normal fixes and updates.

Yes, it's not the ultimate content of our dreams yet, hopefully some of that will come during our revamping, but just being worked into the normal schedule is a huge win for us and a great sign that we are getting closer to what we want as a Community.

It's ok to celebrate the small wins.

I certainly don't want to make light of anything the Corrs do. You guys do an awesome job, one I could never do. *HUGS* to you all.

Please forgive my pessimistic attitude , you know it wasnt always there.

I'm just glad I found . . . err "stuff" to keep me around this long. We wont go into what the "stuff" entails right now.

No kidding. I only paid for it through the charity of fellow entertainers. Since then I've put aside a little nest egg by mining metals right after JTL came out, but running around planting and maintaining harvesters was a chore, not my idea of fun. It'll be nice not to have to do that again.

I appreciate all of the effort that went into getting these changes enacted. It is difficult when you are butting your head against a brick wall.

*performs deep formal bow*

But I do agree that TH and the rest of the dev teamneed to realize that most of us are aware that dual buffs where taken away in a patch. It's kind of like all the hard work expended by the BE correspondents to get a new guide for BE. TH hyped the new BE guide and we were all pumped up only to realize when it came out that it was, word for word (misspellings included) our own player made stickied guide dressed up with fancy links. No new information was included.

We can only hope that when the Ent upgrade comes out the proper syntax is used: Reinstated as opposed to New, etc.

Again, thank you all for the effort you put forth on our behalf.
