Thread: New Inspirations on TC!

Who is trolling? The point is, just as there were numerous Doc ALTs for buffing pre-CU, this is now likely to happen in guilds with alot of crafters after this goes live. When someone needs a buff, switch over to the ALT, dance/play and buff the crafters, switch back to main.
It's not trolling, it's pointing something outthat you should be concerned about and may well have an impact on your profession.
I realize you aren't a dancer and are probably unaware of our history. After 1.5 years of buff bots and the last several months of FS grinders, there are very few of us who even go to NPC cantinas. We are the ones who own the guild's player city cantinas. We are the ones who have built habits of traveling to our customers. I think you'll find that the vast majority of us don't mind if you get your buffs from God himself, as long as he's at the keyboard to provide the service.
What is a concern to me right now is how this forum is being stormed by players who are afraid that if we get something worth having that it might cut into their contributions to an over-inflated player economy.
Do you deny that what you wrote was intended to cause dancers to want to withdraw from what the devs have offered us?
Preach on, Sista'!

Yes, I do deny it. It's almost certain that it will go in, but that doesn't mean it can't be tweaked.
The fact is, you are getting something beneficial to you that, in its present form, is harmful to other players. I realise that you're obviously not too concerned about that, but it's a fact. This new ability needs changing, if not removal altogether.
It's also apparent that a WoW crafting game is what the devs and non-crafters want. This game is heading inexorably towards being totally combat based (witness the Jedi fun-park laughably labelled as an expansion). You know what that means? It'll be the social classes turn soon.

Esh, what about the issue of the challenge being taken away from crafters (well what little challenge there is left).

Muzz, I would submit you wont find too many other general groupings of players that are sensitve to giving something to one set of players that is harmful to another. We lived under the yoke of AFK macrobots for well over a year and a half. No, I don't want anyone esles game to suffer as a result of what we get. I'd be fine if the resource buff was removed wholesale, but I think it being tweaked would be a decent compromise.
I agree with you on the expansion, for sure. Personally, I want a fun game for us, you, and just about everyone except the folks that maliciously bot'd. I would appreciate it if you would consider that in general "we" (the Entertainers we) don't want your game harmed or WoW'd or what have you. It's far to general a statement to be accurate.
As a crafter and a dancer I would like to see the resource part of the buffs removed, or at the very least toned down.
Entertainers are not alchemists, we should not be able to effect the stats on a resource, it just doesn't make sense! (Its also very un-starwarsy).
I don't post on Bfin anymore..made a deal with the devil.

Muzz wrote:Tell me, do you know of any ingame crafter, on any server, who sells even 20% of server sales for one particular type of item? Monopolies are hardly running free.
Also, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a culture/economy where everyone has the same and makes the same (which is what this change will lead to) a communist/socialist society and nothing at all like a free-market?
Can you imagine the outcry if something similar was tried with combat professions.....
SOE: We're sorry, but all looted skill tapes that enhance your combat abilities are now being removed. From now on everyone will have the same skill enhancements.
I am pleased the Entertainer classes are getting some love, I have a combat ALT but my first love in this game, and the reason it stands out among MMOs, is it's player-driven crafting and economy. Turning this aspect of the game into the WoW 'everyone can make the same thing of the same quality' is a bad move.
It's clear the Devs want crafting to be generic. Hold your breath and hope Entertaining isn't next.
On Infinity... I'd say Ma-ma sells more than 20% of the armor and Kelsaka more than 20% of tailoring goods. Though Kelsaka isn't actually cheap.
As a crafter and a dancer, I would like to see them go in and then adjusted depending upon how they actually effect play on Live rather than based upon player speculation.

Nah..if I start posting, it'll all go downhill from there.
